    This guy realized that we had Cigna insurance and apparently he does not get paid much from them, but he let us know this and proceeded to barely do any kind of check up on my son.  Ridiculous, would never recommend him.  PS, now I have Aetna who are one of the better insurance providers for dental and he loses out on the business due to his rudeness and treating us like 2nd class citizens.  If he does not like the pay on that insurance, he should not take it.

    Dr. Zuckerberg's office in Dobbs Ferry was able to fit me in the same day, as they had a cancellation, and I saw Dr. Jong.
    He was GREAT - very friendly and gentle. He was able to put in a temporary crown during the appointment. Dr. Jong and his assistant made an appointment I was dreading very comfortable and not all that bad.

    It went horribly bad. The visit was pleasant, everything was one time, replacement of my filling was done in one session, which is great. However, I had a bad pain that I had to go back over 10 times for it. I had a toothache all the holiday season, and I still have pain and can't use my tooth after almost 6 months. Dr. Hanswirth keeps telling me it has to do with balance and the it needs adjustments, but how many adjustment sessions does a single tooth need? This is all despite the fact that I had no problem at all with my tooth. More importantly, the exact same thing happened to my wife. She replaced an old filling the week after I did, and still has pain. I'm pretty sure either he doesn't know his job at all, or the material he used was faulty and is causing this discomfort and pain for a tooth that used to be just fine.

    He was very personable. He was also very good at explaining things rather than just doing what he felt needed to be done. He gave me the background rationale and explained things. He actually introduced me to a new thing that I have never heard of before which has turned out to be very effective.

    All the providers and staff at this office are extremely friendly, considerate, and skilled. In addition to regularly-scheduled appointments, they have always been very responsive in emergencies. Dr. Avrutin has been my dentist for years, and I wouldn't think of going to anyone else for dental care.

    Went for a teeth cleaning, and later for a broken-off molar. Service seems geared to how much can be collected from insurance for each visit; i.e., 15-minute appointments are favored. Received a total spray bath from the assistant doing the teeth cleaning. Molar was temporarily patched (badly) and another appointment made for treatment. Never went back.

    This is a one-man practice; there is no hygenist on staff. Dr. Marshall does everything from the scheduling to the cleaning to the x-rays. This means that if the phone rings during your appointment, he goes and answers it, leaving you alone in the chair! Unless you are the first appointment of the day, the actual time you will be seen is 15 minutes AFTER the time of your appointment. That is, if you have a 9AM appointment, you will be ushered in to the chair at 9:15. Don't be late, though.- if you are 20 minutes late for your appointment, you lose it - you'll have to come back another day. There's no "we'll squeeze you in" policy here. At a typical checkup with Dr. Marshall, you will only be in the chair for less than 15 minutes - this hard for me to believe. He works very fast, talking a mile a minute the entire time. If being talked at the entire time you're in the chair doesn't sound good, then choose another dentist. Initially I was impressed at Dr. Marshall's quick, no-nonsense approach and the fact that he was covered by my insurance. The incessant talking was a bit annoying, but I could live with it. I liked the punctuality of knowing I would be walking out exactly 30 minutes after my appointment time. However, at my last appointment I had a bad experience. The doctor was so busy talking during the teeth cleaning process that he cleaned my lower teeth but not my uppers. I was surprised when he said "ok, you're all done" after having cleaned only half of my teeth. I pointed out the mistake to him and he doubted me out loud... but went ahead and cleaned my upper teeth anyway. However he only cleaned the outsides, not the insides! I should have insisted that he finish the job but I didn't feel like arguing. A dentist ought to be able to keep track of whether they have completed your teeth cleaning without having to be reminded. I shouldn't have to make sure that all my teeth have been cleaned. This lack of attention (probably due to the constant chatter issuing from his mouth) is what caused us to move on and look for another dentist.
