    Tappan Z Home Improvement
The work Jose and his team at Tappan Z Home Improvement did exceeded my expectations. This was a total gut renovation and we are thrilled with the result. Not only did they pay attention to every detail and come in on budget but they showed up everyday on time and left the place clean at the end of the day. I am a real estate agent in Westchester and am often asked for contractor recommendations. Without hesitation I recommend Tappan Z Home Improvement.

We needed a carpenter to install an access hatch in a crawlspace underneath our fireplace to provide access to the plumber to fix the gas line. Rufino came the next day to give an estimate and a few days later came to do the work. Its in a tricky location but was able to do the job and even built a door to cover the hole. Great job all around!

David is incredible. We own many commercial properties in Brooklyn and David did extensive work on every single property. His work is excellent, he secured the proper permits where needed, he was always responsive by phone and text and kept us updated every step of the way. He also assisted us with general maintenance and repairs when needed, dealt with our tenants in a courteous manner and treated the properties like they were his own and we like family. We cannot say enough good things about David and his team and would highly recommend him an his company.

I reached out to the company for a specific project but have now utilized Ruffino's expertise for multiple projects and tasks around the house. He and his crew were always on time, provided excellent service and charged a fair price. I will definitely call Ruffino again for all my future needs and would highly recommend him to anyone in the need for handyman services.

My experience with the business was disappointing. The work was done less than a year ago and although upon completion things seemed Ok, I am seeing that the quality of the work done was less that professional. Bathroom: my tub sustained chips, one cement board went up warped and left the shower surround out of square, the accent tile was laid improperly with same color tiles in a row one after another at the edge so the stagger is not staggered, my mirror is not centered on the vanity, my cabinet is not centered on the wall above the toilet, the glue has shown through the grout, the caulk continues to crack and started to mold, the paint needed another coat since I can see the white primer beneath, didn't finish the baseboard under the vanity, grout was not sealed and I had to clean up film from the tiles. Inaccurate amount of bullnose was ordered but I had enough tiles left to not need it. Plumber fell through and I had to find one myself. I should have backed out when he discouraged me from getting the staggered glass and stone pencil accent tile. He was flexible and accommodating but the work was just not as professional as I thought it should be. Kitchen: was a demo to prep for IKEA install and he also did floor tiles. Patching the walls was ok but once primer went on, there were so many air bubbles from the walls being improperly cleaned that I had to fix it and reprime, definitely not ready to paint when he left. It still has bubble holes. Replaced the duct vent cover with a vent cover that I can not close like the old one. Instead of using similar baseboards he told me it was no longer made and used pine planks which look ok but...Home Depot did have the same baseboard so now I need to deal with that later. The floor, nightmare! His worker did not pour the leveling agent but instead used a hand held spreader. My kitchen is 8x8 and between the edge and center it is off by at least half an inch. My appliance all sit lopsided. The grout wasn't properly sealed. Grout lines are larger than I wanted. The glue effects how the grout seals because it wasn't removed in the grout lines well enough. The tiles have air pockets everywhere. Yes, my cat stepped on it in a few places but not enough to cause air pockets all over the floor. He blamed it on bad tiles...if the tiles were bad, he should have identified that prior to install. He overall explained away issues by blaming on the building or the unit being out of square or settled but a professional compensates accordingly and uses techniques so it at least looks square to the eye. Every time I look at my fridge I am annoyed because it is almost an inch off top to bottom in its lean. The icing on the cake was when his worker put the table saw on my range top and put a dent in it. Mario denied it saying it never was on the range but he was not there during the day to see it. My spouse and I both saw it on the range top and when Mario blamed it on a heavy pot of water being placed on the range top I just let it go. He did a linen closet for me as well and eventually I will redo it. He said he'd install peg board but installed wood paneling instead, without removing the baseboard first so it has an unfinished look. The holes in the drywall were supposed to be repaired and they were not, he just covered it with the wood panels. He cut out my heat relay and the heat was out during a weekend in winter. Luckily it was a mild winter but a good business man would have taken the time to correct the issue when informed, so his customer would not go without heat for three days. Don't go by the photos you see. My background includes the ability to do some of the work he performed, so I know what the end product should have looked like. I just don't have the tools or time to do it myself. Relying on a professional to get the job done... made me want to get my own license and be a better leader to ensure customers get an end product that is truly professional and not just good enough for now.

    J & S Painting Plus Inc
Jay's crew painted my house about 2 years ago. I was was walking around the house this morning and noticed that it looked like it was just painted. Everything is holding up beautifully. Jay is a great guy, fair, honest and straightforward. I have tried a few other painters who came highly recommended for a few interior jobs but I was not totally satisfied with them.

    Handyman Connection - Westchester County
Company very responsive when I called.  Spoke with Steve and told him about my job, but let him know that I needed to have some other work done first.  I called him when that work was done and got a return call right away from the office who let me know that Handyman Bob would be calling me within 24 hours to schedule the work.  The next morning, i got a call from Bob who came to look at the job, gave me a reasonable price and did the work, right then.  It took him about 1.5 hours.  He replaced 5 sets of shutters on my first and second story windows.  He also removed and replaced my old, broken mailbox with a new one.  He was polite, courteous, on time, and efficient.

    Rusal Construction
Time to get my house painted which means time to call Rusal Construction again. As always they came the same day and got the estimate right away. They came on time and cleaned up after themselves again just like last time. I have referred Rusal to several friends and at least one of them have already hired them. The house looks brand new. They did the trim perfectly and replaced all the rotted wood with new wood. It looks immaculate. Thank you Rusal for once again taking good care of me. I highly recommend Rusal Construction.

Tim, who owns the business does most of the work on his own or is always on the job to ensure the finest craftsmanship. He guarantees his work and always goes the extra mile. He will work with you and make recommendations to make the best use of your space.  He doesn't just come in and do the work but will provide advice and alternatives.  He is also an artist so he has a great eye for color and is a perfectionist.  I guarantee that you won't find anyone with this quality at these prices.

    Rick's Main Roofing LTD
We had developed a bad leak in one area, and our original roofing contractor had gone out of business so we could not claim under their and ldquo;warranty.and rdquo; The shingle manufacturer referred us to Rick, he responded with total professionalism. (RMR is an authorized installer for our choice of roofing, which our first contractor was not. Buyers should be alert to this issue. Also check when any contractor says and ldquo;Licensed in Xyz County, and rdquo; but does not publish a license number.) We had a little trouble scheduling our appointment because of all the heavy rain in those weeks, and also because our own schedule was complicated, so I don't fault Rick for that. Once we got going, there were absolutely no issues. Each time another problem appeared as work progressed, opening the affected area, his crew would have a solution and would go right to work to repair the damage we discovered. They were knowledgeable and efficient. We have not experienced any further problem, but if we do need roofing services I would definitely call Rick first.
