    FYI Electrical & Remodeling Services
$ estimate was 4 -5 times higher than it should have been and proposed solution was unnecessarily complicated. A la carte job pricing is ridiculous when the hourly rate in Houston for electricians is from $22 - $35 [see [*** Link removed ***] ]. Found a different electrician in Angie's List that is fairer and more reasonable (but still on the high side]. Unfortunately since Harvey and with apartment constructions in Houston beyond belief, demand for "normal" electricians is saturated. The trick then is in finding the least likely to overly take advantage of this high-demand situation.

Due to the fact that the lights were being replaced, it fascinated me that this contractor was able to work in the dark using nothing more than a flashlight. Whole project took about 3 hours to complete. Contractor satisfied my needs as I requested additional work be done while the initial project was being completed. Price was fair due to the work involved.

He was extremely professional, friendly, and easy to work with.  His concern was my satisfaction with the work performed. He was prompt and told me exactly how long the job would take and stuck to the timeframe. He was here everyday with his men. I was very comfortable with Mike and have not met a contractor like him before---- always smiling! Nothing seemed to be a problem with him.

Very good.  A technician came by in under 2 hours from my call.  He troubleshooted the situation, fixed the problem, and gave my some maintenance advice.  He also told me what to look into replacing in the future is this becomes a problem again.

We need someone to repair our gutters and add downspouts to the system, we have called at least 5 contractors in the Utica Rome NY area; none of them have had the courtesy to return our calls. Several construction company's have come out to give estimates on other work we needed done in the house we purchases last December, they come out, say they'll call soon and are never heard from again. If they don't want the work, they should say so, but to tie us up for a week or more waiting for a call that never comes is down right rude and unprofessional. I was hoping this one would be different, but he was the same as the rest. No response.

Pilot light on the water heater would not light and we could not get any spark from the ignitor. We called J-Tech and left a message. He returned our call within a hour and was at our residence within a hour after that.He diagnosed the problem quickly, went out and purchased a new assembly and installed it in the water heater within another hour. Jeff was very professional, personable individual to work with and reasonably priced his service. I would definitely recommend and utilize him again

An outlet in my kitchen suddenly stopped working.  I tried a couple of things to no avail so I called Jeff after finding him on Angie's List.
I described the problem to him and he arrived an hour later!  He found the problem and promptly repaired it.  He was professional, courteous, and friendly.  If I need an electrian in the future I will definitely call him!  Highly recommended!

I set up today to have some electical work done at my rental house. I received a call 20 minutes before he was supposed to show up for a 1 PM appointment. He told me that he had a cold and wouldn't be out today. He really should have called earlier in the day. I had driven in from Syracuse for this appointment. He told me he had called multiple times and the phone just rang. I have a cell phone only and it records all calls. The only calls that my phone received were at 20 minutes to 1PM and at 1 PM.No apology offered. Very unprofessional. I will not use this contractor in the future.

The whole experience was very pleasant. Bob is very professional and easy to get along with. He is very responsive, in person and with returning our phone calls.  He personally came out to look at the work and gave us a competitive estimate.  Even though we added more work on to the initial project, he and his crew were very agreeable to extending the time.  All of the work was done with very high quality.
I especiaally like the fact that he came out to look at the projects and give an estimate, rather than (like the other contractors i spoke to ), giving a ballpark estimate over the phone.

    Accel Construction/Electrical Contracting
I had a serious safety problem with my breaker panel and needed to get it replaced soon. Ronald Orr (Owner?) was very responsive and reasonably priced. He was willing to quote me general price range over the phone. I invited him over and we discussed the options. I live in an old house so there were some code updates we had to do to get a new panel compliant. He worked with me to get the job done at the lowest cost while still meeting codes.
I provided all materials and he performed the work. He showed up on time and after starting we ran into unexpected problems (shortage of breakers due to problems with several of the old ones being unable to be reused).  He wired up the critical circuits to get the main lines in the house working (Kitchen, Furnace, well, and lights). I picked up the additional breakers and he came back the next day at no charge. On the first day he had one co-worker. Both were very professional and enjoyable to talk to. Ronald Orr told me his background is actually in commercial electrical but now he also does residential as well.
Overall, I was very satisfied with his work, and it passed the Electrical Inspection. I would definitely hire him again. Also, considering hiring him for some light construction as based on some side conversation, his rates seem competitive.
