    This appointment went very well. The staff was excellent and Dr Abel was very kind. He listen to my concerns. He explained the treatment plan he was recommending. This was the most through dental exam I have ever had. I would highly recommend this office and the dentist.

    He's a really good dentist. As I was going to my doctor's office the other day, I had a flat tire and I didn't realize it. I pulled into the parking lot of my dentist's office to take a look. I went in to the office and they were so nice to me. They called Triple A and everything and I asked them, since I was already there, if I have an appointment anytime soon. I told them that the tooth next to the pulled tooth feels sensitive everytime I brush my teeth. I think she told me that they had a cancellation but she had cut the people in his office. So she took me right in and told me she's just gonna clean up the area. I went in and they told me that I had a little cavity that has started.

    It went very well, they let me chose what I wanted and they didn't try to talk me into more expensive ones. They were very cooperative in every way and I accidentally stepped on them and cracked them and when I took them back in they fixed them at no charge.

    He's very reasonable. He's so good that people drive up from NYC. He's been practicing here for several years. My husband goes to him as well. The first time I went to him, it was because a tooth shattered after a previous dentist worked on it. He's proven himself very honest. He doesn't accept dental insurance - You have to pay him and then submit, but this is how he maintains his independence over his work and his practice. He even replaced a cap one year on Christmas Eve! His office is very conveniently located in downtown Rome with lots of parking. The staff has always been very pleasant; I've never had anyone be rude.

    He is very gentle, caring, and thorough. I have been going to him for years and years. Other members of my family and friends go to him and they love him. He is a good guy. If I have an emergency, he will see me right away but it can take a while to get a regular appointment.

    we arrived at 145 on 0721 and no appt was scheduled for us this was made the day before by his personal dr. we were taken in to see a dr that was not a oral surgeon and she attempted to take the tooth my husband was in so much pain and she tried to take the tooth and was not able to she threw the tool across the room and left the room my husband sat in agnony for a hour until a oral surgeon became available the oral surgeon did get the tooth out he said he used sedation but my husband nvr received it he was wide awake when this was completed everyone from the office mgr the nurses to the drs gave us huge attitude left my husband for a hour with extreme pain until another dr was available no one came in to ck him i had to keep going out and asking questions to sum this up 650 dollars for one tooth and your worst night mere come true

    The whole experience was awful. The dentist was 3 hours late, then when I finally did get in, he was very rough and inpatient. They quoted me one price on the phone, but when I arrived, they demanded another $350 on the spot. Later, the company called and said I had an $1100 balance. The staff was cold and rude, the dentist was NOT gentle. I would't send my worst enemy to this place!

    I went to Aspen Dental in Rome NY for a crown, and a filling in between # 11 and 12. When the dentist cemented the permanent crown, he was extremely rough. He did not use novacain, and I was in the worst dental pain I have ever experienced. He filled between #'s 11 and 12 with a metal filling, which showed when I talked or smiled. It look like I had a cavity or food between my teeth ! He also did not check to ensure that there was adequate space between the teeth for flossing before I left. Every time I flossed, the floss would catch on the filling and the gum would bleed. After several attempts to get a subsequent appointment and not have to wait for two hours in the waiting room, ( for which they are also notorious ) I finally got another appointment. I was told that the main reason I had to wait was because the dentist was running behind because they had a "difficult extraction" that took longer than expected, and they didn't get to have any lunch yet. So... they went to lunch !! Once I got in, the second dentist there replaced the bad filling with a tooth colored filling. When I got home, I noticed that I still had problems with floss getting caught on what seemed to be a ridge on the filling. The following week while flossing, the filling broke right off. I called Aspen and asked for the office manager, she was not in. I told the receptionist what happened. She did not even ask if I wanted to come in. I assumed she was going to have the office manager call me right back. This was on a Friday afternoon. I did not receive a call from them until Monday. I asked if they had emergency slots or cancellations and she said no. We mutually agreed on appointment for several days later, but the day before my appointment I started to experience pain, and the gum around the tooth became red and swollen. I was afraid that I was getting an infection. I called them again requesting an antibiotic or to get me in sooner. They did not have any openings, and REFUSED to prescribe me an antibitotic. I became fed up and decided to go back to my previous dentist to have him fix the tooth, which cost me an additional $120.00. He said that the gum around the tooth was on the verge of infection. I suffered anxiety, loss of work, and pain because of their incompetence. Because they refuse to reimburse me anything at all, I am writing warn others about Aspen Dental. A complaint was registered with the BBB. The bottom line is, my experience with Aspen Dental was nothing but TERRIBLE. They make their patients wait for hours, are over priced and in my experience they're dental services were incompetent. I know others who were treated similarly and are furious with them. STAY AWAY from them !
