    Regular Gutters, LLC
Jack and his staff were a pleasure to work with. As an out of state investor he put my mind at ease by sending pictures of the work and always being available. And his price was better than anyone else. Very professional.

    The Gutter Guy Inc
Our first contact with The Gutter Guy was with their Office Manager, Elaine. She set up an appointment for the owner, Gary Zarza, to come to my house and scope out the job. Gary showed up at the appointed time and measured, diagramed and photographed the prospective job. He is a very nice person. He explained the options for five or six inch gutters and rectangular or round leaders. Gary also explained that they use top grade Aluminum in the thickest gauge available. Their gutters are all seamless. I asked Gary about the difference between 5" and 6" gutters along with a bunch of other questions. Gary patiently answered all of my questions and recommended options for placement of the leaders to disguise their presence as much as possible. Previously the house was sided with white vinyl and it had 5" gutters and the common rectangular leaders. In the remodel we are going to a Cypress colored shingle and we are using a ton of Certainteed Vinyl "Restoration Millwork" (all very pricey) so the last thing I wanted to do was end up with common pedestrian gutters. Gary explained that from an esthetic point of view, the 6" gutters would look the best because they would fill the entire 6" facia. He also explained that the 6" gutters would be more efficient in removing the largest quantities of rain water and even minor debris so they were the best option from a practical standpoint. Finally, Gary suggested that round leaders would enhance the old fashioned look that our remodel was attempting to capture. When we were done, Gary said that they would provide a proposal that would contain several options: (1) 5" gutters with 2" x 3" rectangular leaders (what we had on the house from our 1991 remodel); (2) 6" gutters with oversized 3"x 4" rectangular leaders; and (3) 6" gutters with 4" round smooth leaders. All options were in White. We opted for the third option which was approximately $600 more expensive than option #1. After the proposal was selected, signed and returned, Elaine advised us to call to schedule installation about a week before the house was ready for the gutter installation. We did so and a two week window for the installation was created. Two days before The Gutter Guy was ready to perform the installation, we received a call from Elaine who advised when Gary's crew would show up. At the appointed time on the appointed day (8/6/14) Gary's two man crew showed up and installed the 6" gutters and round 4" leaders. The installation took about four hours from beginning to completion. Gary's crew handled the clean up and they were neat as a pin in expertly fabricating and installing the seamless 6" gutters. They made some adjustments in placing some of the leaders to account for prospective placement of security cameras. All of the white round leaders were placed against the white Certainteed vinyl 6" Super Corners. Gutters and leaders were installed using hidden brackets. The best part: THE INSTALLATION LOOKS FABULOUS !!!!!!!!! I actually stood in front of my house admiring the look of the gutters and leaders for more than a half hour. The installation looks architecturally impressive and substantial and also totally natural at the same time. The leaders are virtually masked by their placement against the white vinyl Super Corners. My wife and I are so happy that we opted for the 6" gutters and the round 4" leaders. The higher cost is money well spent . In fact, I believe this enhances the value of our house. The Gutter Guy (Gary Zarza, Elaine and the two man crew that handled the installation) was an absolute pleasure to work with and I will, without reservation, recommend their service to my friends and neighbors. The Gutter Guy more than lived up to its well deserved Angie's List reputation. I can't wait for it to rain !!!

    Homes & Beyond Inc

It was devine intervention that days after the storm the president of Homes and Beyond was given the wrong address to provide an estimate for a basement remediatioon job in my Rockaway neighborhood. When he knocked on my door, we struck up a conversation. I showed him my basement. He was reluctant to take a downpayment from me because I had never met him before, had no references for him, and he didn't want to spook me. Nevertheless, I had a good feeling. I gave him a deposit which he said he would not cash until I had checked out a few references. I went to the homes where he was in the process of doing work, made a few calls, and liked what I heard. He did an excellent job on the basement gutting and remediation. I then hired him to do the outdoor repairs from falling trees and to do the one floor (including new base molding, sheetrock, insulation and painting) inside my house that had water damage. He is currently in the process of renovating my basement, which includes walls (framing, sheetrocking and some cement skim-coating) floor, ceiling, insulation, etc. All of his workers must be given some kind of orientation because they are all super considerate, very neat, etc. I have no complaints and would certainly recommend Homes and Beyond.

The salesman provided me with pictures of the new system, discussed the merits of  a fiberglass door since the entryway gets baked in the sun.  The work included removing the old door system and installing a new system with a special side glass.  I have an oversized door which they replicated.  They also removed and reinstalled my storm door and surrounded the new system with fypon pilasters. The work was completed in one day. They cleaned up the debris and removed  it. The job supervisor had me check the swing of the door and storm door and the smoothness of the lock.

I have been totally satisfied with both the work and the coutrtesy of the workers. My attic is unused and I rarely go up there.  Recently, when I was having some windows replaced I went up and saw there was a lot of debris left from the roofers.  They were spotless about the experior and overlooked the interior.  I e mailed the president about the issue and within days  two workers arrived with shovels and vacuum cleaner to get rid of the debris.  When they left, the attic was clean. I have to commend the service since the original roofing was done two years ago.  Mr.Kersch, President of Major Homes, answered my e mail immediately and could not have been more responsive to my problem.  He did what had to be done to make it right and to be sure I continued to be a satisfied customer.  I am and plan to use Major Homes when I have another project. I have recommended them to a relative who had Major Homes replace his roof and to a neighbor who is currently awaiting the replacement of some windows.

Joe and his team removed our roof and siding, they replaced the old slate roof with a beautiful new roof and siding of our choice. They replaced rotting wood and gave us new gutters and leaders. They did an excellent job at a fair price. They also put natural stone on the front of our house and travertine on the patio ,stairs and walkway. The new look of our home is dramatic, our neighbours are still comming by to see it and ask for Joes number. We choose Joe from three contractors supplied by Angies list, the estimates were all in the same ballpark. Joe being the owner of his company could make decisions as we spoke. The Sales Reps from other companies had to call their office for any change that we requested.  Joes sense of pride in his work was very evident even on the initial visit. He has a team of ten permanent workers which is a great plus. Joe and his team paid so much attention to every detail, at one point the pattern for the Travertine looked so complicated on paper, but they just studied it until they got it perfect. My husband and I are very difficult clients to work with, we had done a lot of research before starting on the project, we kept changing our minds on the stone and travertine right in the middel of the project. Joe was so patient with us and wanted everything to look perfect as much as we did. It is truly a faboulous job in every way. We could not be more pleased, we have reccomended Joe to all of our friends and anyone we know who is planning to remodel a home.

Job went on schedule with no problems, took about four days for 21 squares of material.Joe suggested replacing the two 1950 original half-round copper roof vents but we choose not to.Front of house has full width eight foot deep concrete porch 2/3 covered in permanent, fragile sun baked fiberglass awning, concealed by large evergreen bushes. Joe's assurance that he'd be very cautious held true, they spanned it with a scaffold, tarped it and didn't drop material on it.
Only issue was the day after they completed we noticed some dollar coin size pieces of slate in the grass. We have small front and backyard lawns that we spend most of the summer walking on barefoot, especially since this is a beach community. Concerned we policed the two areas and picked up a coffee can of slate chards and over a dozen old roofing nails, wish they had been a little more thorough with the cleanup.
    Very capable, would use again.
