    Sears Home Services
I gave an overall F rating because of the outrageous cost of a 40 minute service call even though the worker and the work were excellent. Service guy came on schedule for bottom freezer of frig that was leaking.. He was extremely knowledgeable and businesslike. After taking out ice maker, sliding freezer door and back panels in freezer box in order to get to the cooling coils, he diagnosed the problem as a clogged drain. At that point he gave an estimate of $406 for the repair. Assuming the repair would be complicated and time consuming, and already having committed to a $95 service call expense, I reluctantly gave the ok to do the repair. To my shock and surprise, the fix was completed in about 30 minutes. The service guy was clearly embarrassed about the cost and explained that the charge was dictated by the job code--plugged drain--and he could do nothing to reduce the charge. He did suggest that a 20% discount coupon was often available on line and suggested I download one. I tried to do so but the discount coupon was no longer being offered. He checked on this and confirmed that it looked like the promotion was not available. I think his embarrassment caused him to spend about an additional ten minutes to adjust the upper refrigerator door which did not close tight due to sagging. The fix was adding a shim washer to the hinge pin that probably cost 10 cents. All in all: a 40 minute visit; 10 cents in parts for $406, or a $600 per hour rate. Was an outrageous ripoff. We will never again do business with Sears for any work. As a comparison, my local, top flight, car maintenance and repair shop charges at $95 per hour. I am also complaining to the Better Business Bureau.

    MIKE SEAMAN GENERAL CONTRACTING
In 2017 Mike Seaman and crew removed our asphalt shingles and replaced them, repaired various parts of the roof, vented the ridge and built an overhang on the rear of the house for additional ventilation to assure us of no future ice dams. In 2018, I discovered a leak in the area where the garage joins the house and that a length of vinyl trim was missing. Over the next few months, Mike at first responded to my phone calls and promised me that he would take of the leak and personally replace the missing trim. One of his employees showed up with a caulking gun and figured that the leak was fixed. No one ever returned to replace the trim and the leak was not fixed. He never answered my calls from that point on. I still have the complaints that I started with. Also, the addition of the rear roof overhang with ventilation did nothing to reduce the ice buildup and I fear that the gutters will come down every time ice forms. A total waste of money. From the road, the roof looks nice but looking nice is far from being a good job. If Mike would have taken care of the leak and trim replacement, it would not have been so bad but his total ignoring the problem infuriates me! No more work for me and no recommendations from me for Mike Seaman.

    County Wide Appliance
They were able to get me a service date the day after I called. They showed up on time and were very knowledgeable about my particular dryer. Had I called when the dryer first starting making noise, they would have been able to fix it that day with the parts in the truck. Special order parts were required. They returned the following week and completed the repair. I would definitely use them again.

Fine. Parts needed to be ordered. Arrived and installed as scheduled. Skilled and knowledgeable repair tech. Parts and labor are pricy, but that goes with the territory when you have Sub-zero refrigerator.

    Pro-Tech Appliance
Due to the holidays, company was backlogged and could not come out to check my refrigerator until Monday. I found an independent repair person in the telephone pages who came out on Friday. The company is Nick's Refrigeration and Appliance Service. He was able to get the part and returned Saturday to fix the problems. He replaced the thermostat and fixed the frozen drain pipe on my Whirlpool frig. This saved me hundreds of dollars in food that I did not have to throw out.

    Rochester Appliance
I was very pleased with this company. I contacted the company and was able to book a time that was convenient for me to have someone come out and look at it. They arrived on time and were in and out in 15 minutes with the problem fixed. There was a clog in the water line and it was dripping out to the bottom of my freezer and then thawing and puddling out on my kitchen floor. Before they started the work, they provided me with a total. They worked quickly and professionally and said that they also adjusted the hose so it will not happen again. While they were there I asked about my washing machine and they gave me great tips for increasing the longevity of it. There is no doubt in my mind that I would use them again. They were responsive, friendly, appropriately priced, and worked efficiently. What more could I possibly want? Do not hesitate to use them!!

    TERRY RICKNER APPLIANCE SERVICE
Terry came at the time promised and took one look inside the freezer and knew what the problem was - coils were frozen over because the coil defroster was broken. It took a while to steam all the ice off the coils and then he replaced the coil defroster.
