    Pristine East End Contracting
My house is now over 30 years old and was starting to show its age. I called Pristine, initially, to rebuild an upstairs deck that was starting to separate from the house. Nick (the owner) did such a wonderful job that I hired him to remodel my 3 bathrooms, tile the ground floor, and build a large bedroom closet. Everything was done on time, on budget (his prices were fair and reasonable), and most importantly, all his work is done with pride and the kind of old school workmanship that you don't see that much of anymore. He was always polite and a pleasure to have in the house. At the end of every day Nick cleaned up the worksite and never left any mess. This man is a gentleman, a professional, knows his stuff, and does not take shortcuts. I can recommend Pristine without any reservations for any home construction project you may have. You will not be dissappointed.

Tony and his crew were very professional and curteous. Tony went through each step of the remodeling process with me and allways kept me in the loop. When i had to go to the hospital for surgery he even went to the house on weekends to make sure my dog was fed. All in all the work they did was great and the service was even better they have a return customer for sure!

    Rob's Handyman Service
This contractor made me question the usefulness of Angie's List.  He saw the job ahead and  we agreed on price. I paid for all materials.  Arrived on contracted date with his nephew who started removing the cedar planks marked by me for removal with a crowbar, this damaging the adjacent planks.  Rob did stop him and told him the proper way.  The rest of the carpentry went fine and was done to my satisfaction.  Another day he and his nephew arrive to power wash.  Rob tells me he is leaving the 17 yr old. there alone and he is going to another job.  I asked him if the nephew was experienced enough especially since I have cedar planks which is a softer wood.  I didn't hire a 17 yr old to power wash at $250.00, I hired Rob who never told me the kid would be doing the job.  He assured me nephew was very capable.  Several hours later as nephew is finishing I check on his work to see that he has shredded most of the rails on the deck and gouged out many of the cedar planks that were previously fine. I showed Rob when he returned from his other job and finally admitted that the nephew had sprayed too close.  Rob agreed to sand the rails and he replaced some of the cedar deck planks.  He did not charge me labor but I had to pay for the wood, which was about another $100.00
    The painting was a disaster.
First of all he never sanded the shredded wood on the rails. I saw a superficial attempt of sanding for 10 minutes then they stopped and went right to painting.
We had some wind to contend with but Rob Stopped painting on those days and left,   I know Rob will blame the wind after reading this review but even when there was no wind,  the sprayer had a problem as he kept stopping and seemed to be trying to fix something on it.  Our agreed price was 2 coats of paint on the rails and lattice but I never got that.  The deck itself came out just ok but somehow the paint is bumpy.  I purchased the rollers Rob instructed me too.  Painting was very sloppy and paint is on anything that was near the deck.  Every plant and shrub at base of deck, my gutters, hot tub cover, the base of my umbrella holder,  a wrought iron decorative piece and even my water hose that was on the ground had paint on it.   The hose was pretty much inexcusable since he just could have moved it.  I actually did call Rob and ask him to replace that and he did at least make good on that.
I am sorry to have to write this review and hesitated since Rob really is a very nice man and probably a very good carpenter. However, in the spirit of what Angie's list is supposed to be for us homeowners  felt that others needed to know.

    Make it Right Contracting Corp
Because this was to be our vacation home, we live about 2 hours away and I was very anxious about not being close enough to the project to oversee the work.   I knew I needed to find someone I can trust that was reliable and dependent.  We also have very high standards as to the quality of work we were looking for.   I got some referrals from friends in the area as well as met with at least 5 other contractors that all got good reviews on angie's list in the area.   When I met John from Make It Right I immediately noticed his down to earth, easy going attitude.   When he walked through the house and heard what I was looking to do he was listened carefully to what I wanted but was also offering suggestions and ideas that either made a lot of sense or would save money.  It didn't take him long to come back with what I felt was a fair estimate.   His bid wasn't the cheapest we got, but it wasn't over priced either.    He was on top of the project from the start - getting permits the day after we closed and starting the work within a week.   At first I was coming out every weekend to see the progress and each time I was impressed with both the quality and speed.   As the weeks went on, I felt I no longer needed to visit as often.  When he ran into unexpected issues, he was creative and fair in coming up with solutions without much additional cost.  When everything was finished, it turned out better than we expected.    John will be my first call on any future projects and I highly recommend him to anyone in the area.   It's not easy finding an honest, fair, organized professional that does high quality work.

After several attempts at getting a plumber with no return calls I decided to join Angie's List . I needed someone replace the water pump in my basement. I read the various reviews and decided to use In Spirit. I received a prompt return call. After getting the pump I wanted, I contacted Bob who came 2 days later as promised and on time! He was courteous, neat, and totally professional. I will definitely use him again and I recommend him highly.

On November 5, 2014 two of Bob's crew arrived at my home at 8 am. They worked through to 4 pm and left my room spotless. That's one thing I can say about Bob' s crew. They are very professional and always leave my home spotless. On the 6th of November they finished up the job. Once again a job well done guys!!!

    "In the Spirit" Handyman Services
It went wonderfully!  It sounds easy to replace a screen door, but it was much tougher than originally thought, because the door frame was lopsided.  Bob and his guys solved the various problems and got it done.  It looks great!  Bob is on time, he returns calls, his prices are reasonable, and he does quality work, which he guarantees.   Thank you, Bob!

    "In the Spirit" Handyman Services
Bob was very friendly and helpful from start to finish.  He was very professional and easy to deal with.  He promptly returned my initial phone call; scheduled a time that accommodated my schedule; arrived on time for the job and performed the replacement without any issues.  I was very happy with the service and would certainly look to use him again in the future.

    "In the Spirit" Handyman Services
Bob Smith of "In The Spirit" Handyman Services did a great job. When I first spoke with him, he called me back immediately. He came over to my home the next day for the inspection, and two days later he quoted me for the job. This was around the time Sandy hit, so it took him quite a while to get to me, but it was ok because I had another shower in the house. He actually started the work in December and it took him and his partner, Louie, about a week. They cleaned up all the mess and everything was excellent. What took the longest was the door because he had to order it. The first one that was delivered it was damaged so he sent it back. The second one was fine.
