What was suppose to be a $150 job turned out to be $600 and problem is still not fix.  Carlos Marrero came and told me that job is going to cost more than initial $150 that I paid through Angie List to unclog kitchen sink.  He told me this during half way to doing job.  I had no choice since he already started and just wanted problem fix.   Carlos even told me to pay him the difference under his name so I wont be charge tax.  Which I know that is not true because you are not suppose to be charge for tax when you are paying for home repairs.  So, I went along and pay him $450 more under his name.   Problem is still not fix.  After he left, a couple of days later my son said that sink was very slowly draining water.  Now, it is up to the point that it is completely clogged again.  We hardly wash dishes on kitchen sink.  It is used only by me and my son, nobody else, so it hardly get use.  I called Carlos and told him that problem is still not fix and he told me that he will have to charge me again.  Are you kidding me?  After I paid him $450 extra under his name and still wants to charge me again on a problem that  was never fix properly.  Keep away from this company.  They are con-artist!

Its funny that the company is saying that I used to much Drano.  After Carlos was having a hard time unclogging sink and BEFORE he cut hole on ceiling, he made my son to run to Stop & Shop to buy more Drano.   When that did not work then he deciced to cut ceiling hole.  AGAIN, I would not recommend this company.  The problem was never fix.  We only use the sink only twice a week because again its only me and my son that lives in the house.  They should of understanding our situation and made an exception of the 30-day guarantee.  I understand if it was a full house of people and sink gets used everyday.  The unfortunately part was that my son did not tell me right away about slow drain happening after Carlos left.

Update on 11/5/2015..............I would like to appreciate CPH Services for reaching out to me and trying to resolve my problem that was not fix.  Carlos came back last Monday, 10/26/2015 and was very professional and sorry that problem was not fix first time.  He told me that pipe got clogged again and this time went even deeper with his snake to make sure that pipes are cleaned.   Its been a week and a half and so far so good.  The only thing is that I really havent used sink that much, maybe 3-4 times since Carlos left.  Like I said before is only me and my son that use kitchen sink and we dont dirty that many dishes.  That is why I was upset the first time because I spent more than I anticipated and problem was never fix.  I want to thanked Carlos again and CPH Services for making  a customer happy again.  Like I told Carlos, customer satisfaction is very important and if I am happy and like their services then I would turn around and recommend CPH Services to my family and friends for plumbing services.

I was very happy with Carlos and his service. First, I called in a panic late Sunday night after turning off the water and mopping up the damage I did. He answered at 10pm Sunday night which I find impressive in itself, that people work like that around the clock. I had never called a plumber before, instead relying on my handyman, always afraid of the storied $250 call to unclog a toilet! But I needed this fixed and done right ASAP. Carlos came the next evening, which was great, as I didn't have to miss work.
Immediately, they came in and got to work. Utter professionalism. Sometimes workers yell at each other and even swear and it was really nice that they were quiet, diligent, and respectful that they were in my home. Carlos was very patient in answering all of my questions about turning off utilities and just plumbing questions in general. I really liked how he didn't rush out of my house, but even asked if I had any more questions and if he wanted me for him to check anything further. He couldn't have been more patient and seemingly prideful of his workmanship. His assistant was very attentive in cleaning up the soldering metal as well.
    Thanks guys!!

    $49.99 Sewer Drain Service
Only good thing was response time, they came when promised. I had a problem with my yard drain that whenever it rain hard it got clogged and a big puddle will form right next to my foundation causing water to leak into my basement. The drain is located right under my deck, which is approximate like 3 feet from ground level to deck. As soon as plumber came in he said that since the drain was located under the deck that it was consider like a crawl space and would charge me double. He suggested then to run snake from my trap down in basement going to backyard drain, which is approximately like 10 feet. After the last heavy rain, drain was clogged again. I went on line and noticed that they had a special of cleaning sewer going in and out for 49.99 so I called them to give them another chance and to do both sewer line and drain on my backyard again but man on phone told me that at the beginning is actually $100.00 then follow up visits are 49.99, which I thought that they should advertise that part with special. I complained to him that I hired them last month to fixed my clog drain and he said that I still have to pay 49.99 for drain again plus 100.00 for sewer line. He was very arguementive and in attack mode and thought that he was not a very nice person. I called another company today and they promptly show up within 3 hours and the problem with my backyard drain turns out that there was a hand towel stuck in there. I was amazed when he show me towel and told him that I hired 49.99 sewer drain company just last month and problem came back. He said that last plumber all he did was push towel to side and made a big enough hole for water to flow again. Well I was so happy that I also had him cleaned my sewer lines. Will definitely use them again and never use 49.99 sewer drain company.

we had water backing up in our basement one evening during a heavy rain storm in the area. We purchased our home very recently and having lived through other days with incliment weather did not know why this time during heavy rain the water backed up from our main sewer into our basement.  We pumped the water out ourselves with a sump pump from Home Depot and called Big Apple Plumbing to find out the source of the blockage.  They were able to put us in front of their other appointments and came the very next morning.  Ken and his assistant tried to clear the blockage but were not successful.  It was clear to us that they tried very hard and were not satisfied with their results but had to leave for their next appoinment after more than an hour of being in our house.  Ken offered to return with his father, who has had greater experience dealing with these things.  We agreed and they were back in a couple of hours.  Again, they tried again and again - very dilligently and professionally but to no avail.  They had to admit defeat and told us that most likely it is a heavy case of roots in the pipe and without a video it was their best guess, but typically they are successful so it meant our pipe most likely was crashed (not good news).  They recommended another good company that specialized in these things and had video equipement.  They did not charge us a cent (even after we offered as we believe in paying for service) and their recommendations were top quality companies, who came through in our very specific and very involved case - we ended up excavating our front yard and replacing our entire main sewer line.  For diligence, professional behavior and true honesty and attention to their customers I have to give Big Apple Plumbing A+ marks.  Their estimate was fair too and we would be happy to hire them again.

Ken arrived on time and gave me an estimate.  As the job turned out to be larger than expected he scheduled a day to come back.  While there he did some repairs in another apartment at no charge.  He returned the following day on time, completed the job and reduced the cost of the estimate, without being asked to do so, by $300.

    ECONO-SEWER
I had some bad basement flooding after the recent rains - all the floor drains seemed to be backed up. Econo-Sewer seemed reputable and reasonable so I gave them a try. I was very happy with the service. A crew of two guys came and looked at 4 drains - three in the basement and one outside. They determined that the main sewer line was backed up. They opened up the trap and cleared this with a large drain snake. Then they worked on the outside drain which was filled with mud. They scooped out a lot of mud and then brought in a smaller snake to clear it out and tested it out with a running hose.  The other 2 floor drains were connected to the sewer, so once that was clear, they didn't need any work. This took about an hour and they charged $250, very reasonable considering the next flood could have destroyed $10k worth of boilers, water heaters and appliances. They take credit cards - an added bonus.

The only minor issue I had was with setting up the service. When you call you get a super-friendly receiptionist (might be an answering service) who has the manager or owner call you back. This guy calls on a cell and it's very hard to understand him. He also seems extremely busy so I suspect he's out working as well. I thought we had agreed on a time, but that came and went. But when I called 2 hours later he sent a crew right over. It may be best to call them when you're home and need the service rather than trying to schedule in advance. They probably get a lot of emergency calls, so its understandable.
