    Sunshine Homecare Services
" ☀️LET THE SUNSHINE IN🎶..." Sunshine Home Care IS just as it says: " SUNSHINE CARES. With Sunshine mistakes may be made, as with any organization! But the difference is Sunshine cares❤️. They GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. AND FROM WHAT WE HAVE SEEN MY MOTHER OF 93 YEARS OLD WITH ALZHEIMER'S , VASCULAR DEMENTIA AND MANY SERIOUS AILMENTS TOOK A TURN FROM THE WORST (COMING FROM OTHER AGENCIES )TO THE BEST- SHE IS DOING WONDERFUL!!!!! THANKS TO SUNSHINE HOME CARE🙏!!!! The SCHEDULING TEAM FROM JESSICA DOWN THE LINE ARE WONDERFUL. THEY LISTEN, CALL YOU BACK, AND MAKE SURE THEY FIND THE BEST HOME HEALTH CARE AIDES POSSIBLE- AND WHEN YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED OR SOMETHING GOES WRONG THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT TAKES ACTION IMMEDIATELY! This is the best agency I have seen. The reason I can say that is because I have experienced a few so called shameless agencies whom my mother almost DIED under . IF YOU CARE SUNSHINE CARES AND EVEN CARES WHEN YOU DON'T- THE PROOF IS IN MY MOTHER - SHE IS DOING WONDERFUL!!!!! --- Just to let any of you know reading this... IM YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE IF ANYONE HURTS ANYONE I LOVE. MY MOTHER IS FIRST ON THE LIST - My standards are very high. We are private tutors who specialize in working with Special needs. We give 200% ... So in all my dealings with people I expect the same. Suggestions: If you are not happy with Sunshine or any organization, tell them - give them suggestions on how it might be better--- I have found for the first time an Agency who actually listened and took my suggestions and even asked me " HOW CAN WE HELP YOU??"

    WinGate Nursing Home
I am very satisfied with WinGate Nursing Home because they are so clean and attentive. They are great because my mom is very particular.  I will be honest that there are no nursing facilities that are perfect.  But they are top notch.  Everyone who visits her is shocked by how nice her room is; it looks just like an apartment.  I will give them an "A" for everything.

    All About You Home Care
The owner, Geneva, came to my grandmother's to meet with us and after showing us full credentials she courteously described their service. After shopping around I decided to use them. Their aide Barbara has been and continues to be extremely reliable and has formed a positive relationship with my grandmother, who can be difficult at times. She has assisted with bathing, chores, taken her to doctor appointments, helped organize medication and provided companionship and guidance to my grandmother during a difficult time. She uses common sense and is smart and friendly. She has also been very flexible with her time and always provides a detailed update to me by phone for each visit and takes my grandmother's vitals. She has been a real lifesaver. I would recommend this company.

    Tri-State Care Alternatives
Dr. Kate runs Tri-State Care Alternatives. I don't go to doctors very often and we have had some problems with other home health care services in the past, but we had a very good experience with them and I would recommend them to anyone. It is a family run business and the woman they sent to us was amazing. She stayed with my mom until she passed. I only have great things to say about her. Dr. Kate is very accessible and if there is every anything you are uncomfortable with she addresses it immediately, which is great. They are a wonderful home health care agency. I love the whole way they work with you. They bring different people to interview with the patient and the family to make sure the fit is right and then you choose. This woman that we were looking enough to meet through them stayed with my mom for a long time. Just wonderful care that she gave her. She was fun too. She had a great sense of humor as well as being very committed. They are definitely an A+. They get back to you right away and the health care person never called in sick. Usually that is a big problem and it happened maybe once. It was just a positive experience all the way through. My mom loved her and felt very comfortable with her. They get all As.

    Doyle's Medical Supply
Really knew what they were doing and were nice about it. Latest though was that they were going to replace the arms with a different type and have not done that.

    Saint Francis Hospital
When a family member was discharged from the hospital, she needed daily assistance. Her family doctor arranged for home health care to be provided by St Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. Within a few days from contacting the agency, the service started. The nurses were excellent, very professional, knowledgable, punctual and friendly. The visiting nurses kept family members informed every step of the way. In fact, one the nurses noticed during her visit something was wrong with my family member and said she should immediately be re-admitted to the hospital. Thank goodness she knew what was wrong and that another hospital admittance was necessary. St Francis Hospital home health care provides a much needed service and has a competant and caring staff.

    Tri-State Care Alternatives
There are 2 parts to this service. The Agency and The Caregiver. When my Dad was released from his Rehab we had 1 week to get someone in house to take care of all his needs. Since he has dementia and gets up during the night, we had to have 24 hour help. We were given Tri State Care Alternatives number from the Rehab. The Agency - I spoke with Karen on the phone and she took all my information and was able to set up interviews with 2 women. She suggested we get a live in caretaker. She said the caregiver would work 7 days a week (does that sound right to you?). Since I knew nothing, I did not think to ask of payroll, taxes, etc. It was only after meeting with our accountant that I knew we had not had all the information we needed. They are NOT an agency which is clearly stated, but they pitch that they offer geriatric care management as part of the referral service. When I finally asked about taxes she told me that it was self-pay (what does that even mean???). As someone doing this for the first time, I would expect more guidance. We did not receive any geriatric care management only 2 women to interview. Also, no one came to the residence, met us or anything. How do they know what situation they are sending their caretakers into? I was able to talk to Dr. Smith about taxes well after the fact, but it was too late at that point. The CareGiver - The woman we chose was kind, caring and patient. She cooked, cleaned and did laundry in addition to helping my Dad, dress, bathe, etc. She had experience with dementia patients. She didn't speak English very well, but she was able to manage his medication. It did take some effort to arrange days off and grocery lists. Because my Dad was housebound, she could not take him to Doctor's appointments nor go shopping. I felt very lucky to have her. Overall, unless you are familiar with this process (setting up a business account, payroll, insurance, labor laws, etc.) seek help from your local office of the aging to help you sort through this.

Their driver dropped off oxygen tanks and a large compressor for the house very quickly.  He was told to use the tanks until the portable compressor comes in which would take a few weeks.  In the five months he was using Lincare, they never give him the small compressor.  I called week after week after week and always got the same story.  "I will look into it and call you back within the week."  They never called and I would have to call again.  The woman in the Newburgh office that was assigned to my husband's case was very nasty and she was very difficult to deal with.  After waiting three months, in December they told me he had to be tested for the portable compressor so a man was sent to the house.  This was not necessary because because his doctor already approved him for the portable compressor.  I feel it was just another reason to stall.  Finally after waiting five months, I returned the equipment, canceled the account and went with another company.  I am happy to say he now has the portable compressor and it has made a big difference in his life.  People like my husband depend on a company like this for their oxygen and the way I was treated was terrible.  I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone!!!
