MJW Transport picked up the car on the east coast within a half hour of what was promised.
The way it works is that he broker posts your request on a national website. Truckers then refer to the site and pick up jobs they are interested in. So the critical element here is the trucker and not necessarily the broker. Now Hilton was fine and stuck with it to find me a trucker. But the trucker in this case was the gold. MJW Transport LLC. picked up the job and the guy was terrific. His equipment was new. He was honest and delivered to the west coast without a hitch five days later as promised. Every part along the way was absolutely first rate.
    One happy camper here.

    Mavis Discount Tire
I had an appointment for 9:30. I had to wait with the vehicle since I didn't have a ride to pick it up later. They didn't take the vehicle in until 11:30. Then apparently it was lunch time and they had pizza delivered. So work on my truck stopped until the technicians could eat their lunch, all while I was waiting with an appointment that was supposed to start at 9:30.
I paid for load range E snow tires. When the truck was finally "done" at 1:30, I completed the paperwork and went out to my truck. When I got to the truck, I noticed that the much cheaper "passenger" series tires were installed and not the heavy duty load range e tires that I paid for. The cost difference was about $80.00 per tire. Most people wouldn't notice the wrong tire, but luckily I knew what to look for. I went back to the service desk and told the manager that the wrong tires were installed. He apologized and took the truck right back in to put the load range E tires on.
At 3:45 when the truck was rolled back out, I was amazed to find out that they once again installed the wrong load range tires. This time they installed load range C tires which were also cheaper than the E range tires I paid for. I once again brought the manager out to show him. At this point I was disgusted and tired from the whole ordeal and spending an entire day in their shop with two sets of cheaper and incorrect tires being installed. The load range c tires would work OK, so I got a refund for the difference in price and they did issue a small store credit for their massive incompetence.
I want to believe that they weren't taking advantage of me. I had been going to this location for 20 years without very much trouble in the past, so I will chalk this up to a very incompetent technician and manager that allowed this to happen, twice. Beware and make sure that you are getting what you paid for. Also, don't bother with an appointment if you are waiting with the car, just plan on being there all day.

The problem that was stated by a mechanic at Monro, did not actually exist. The service adviser came to me and allowed me to see up close that there was no problem with the struts. They also provide a video of the service done so you can review it.

We have been buying our Chrysler minivans from Ruge's for over twenty years.  They always provide fair trade-in prices and good value for us.  They are very accommodating in finding the car with the features we want and making us aware of the latest that is available.

    Prestige Toyota
It usually costs about $100 but they generally find something else that needs to be repaired. They always get my car fixed the first time; I have never had to bring anything back that they have worked on. It seems to me that they are very expensive. I have been using them for the last couple of years.

    Walser Hyundai
My husband's Hyundai Sonata (2009) was having trouble with the driver's side window not rolling up. Thankfully it was still under warranty, so I took it in to Walser Hyundai. I am SO glad I drove farther than the nearest Hyundai dealer, because this facility is excellent. There is ample parking, nearby shopping if you have to wait, and a very nice waiting area with free coffee and free wifi. The service advisor explained that the typical cost of them looking for the problem is $130 but that it could be covered under warranty; I signed off on paying the fee in case it wasn't covered. The other repairs and labor were covered, but I'm not sure how much they would have cost. I was treated very professionally, and I didn't feel condescended to or treated any differently than if I had been a man or if I had known something about cars. The repair was done in a reasonable time, and now the driver's side window rolls up and down perfectly! Kudos to Walser Hyundai for the great experience.

My 97 Honda Civic was due for an oil change. I was wary of going a Jiffy Lube based on the local reviews. I also needed a safety check to make sure the car would be okay during a trip from NY to VA I had to make on a day the temperatures in VA were predicted to hit 106. Based on the reviews, I decided to try Brenn's. Though my trip was coming up in only a few days and Brenn's schedule was busy when I called, I told them I'd be willing to wait at the bakery/coffee shop next door to them as long as needed while they did the work (and honestly, I would have waited 5 hours to make sure my car was ready for the trip), so they fit me into the schedule. I had an excellent lunch at the adorable bakery and Brenn's finished in only about 2 hours. I was so glad they didn't find anything requiring major repair. On my trip, the car ran beautifully despite the heat and bad traffic tie-ups. The safety check made me much more confident about this trip with my 15-year-old car in hotter weather than I had ever driven it in. Overall, my experience with Brenn's was great and I'll go there again.

    J & J Automotive Inc
I've been using Jand J for several years, so I didnt hesitate this time. Their rep, Bill, is always helpful, friendly, and honest. They have all the computer equipment to fix all major domestic and imported cars. They don't try to get you to fix things that don't need fixing. The mechanics are all certified and regularly attend training classes. Their rates are reasonable and far less then the BMW dealer that I used to go to. I trust them for all my auto needs and have never regreted my decision to use their services.

New York Auto Repair & Alignment Inc
Jeff assessed my tires and suggested that I could replace two now and two later because two weren't as worn. After discussing it with me and describing the condition of the tire and the remaining life of the two better tires--six months--I decided to replace all of them. Jeff had prices for several different makes of tires and helped me make a decision about which one to use. I have used New York Auto for all my auto repair needs for six years--as long as I have lived in the area. I am impressed not only with their professionalism but also with their approachability. I can easily talk with Jeff about all my car problems. He is knowledgeable and honest--good traits for one's auto mechanic. I do not hesitate to recommend New York Auto to everyone I know.
