    HRS CONSTRUCTION INC
I hired HRS Construction initially to replace the supports under the front of my house, which had completely rotted away, with proper cement ones.  When Paul came by for a site visit to examine the structure, he discovered that it was in worse shape than he or I expected, and the only way to fix it would be to prop up the roof, rip out everything else, and rebuilt it from scratch.  My husband and I agreed to the job.  The contract was very black-and-white; everything was clearly spelled out with no confusing or fancy jargon.
Paul and his crew were very up-front about everything.  There were no surprises or hidden fees or details that were left out.
When the initial contract was in the process of being made, keeping in touch with Paul was somewhat difficult - I wound up having to make most of the phone calls to get information, confirmation of dates and prices, etc., even when I had been informed that he would be the one to make the call.  However, once the paperwork was signed he was on top of things.
Paul was very patient with us when my husband and I came down to his office to pick out a new door, siding, and trim.  He gave us our space as we wandered around looking at samples and arguing about color choices.  He even took one of our spare keys so that the new front door would match our current keys (the key was returned as soon as the door was delivered).  Paul was in contact with me promptly when a hiccup at the factory was discovered and I needed to make a decision about options.
The crew that actually worked on my house was very professional, friendly, and always polite.  When Jeff, the head of the crew, had to enter my house for any reason - usually to get to the breaker box in the basement - or when he had a question about something, he always knocked at the front door and waited for me to let him in.  When some rotted wood was discovered that had to be replaced, Jeff pointed it out right away and called Paul, who was very straightforward and prompt with an estimate of how much extra it would cost to get it done.  The men were hard and efficient workers, and always in a good mood.  (They were very forgiving the day that our home security system accidentally tripped and the police had to come by to inquire!)   They worked quickly, and I'm sure the work would have been done even sooner had Mother Nature not tried to interfere with our schedule.  They did an excellent clean up job and hauled away every last bit of junk and debris that was associated with the work.  My only disappointment was what they did to my foyer's floor.  They left some of the old linoleum in place and only refloored the part that was an even rectangle within the room's perimiter.  The mismatched result is rather an eyesore, and I'm wondering why they couldn't redo the whole floor.
The price for the job was higher than what I would have prefered to pay, despite being told that it was a "worst case scenario."  That being said, I am very happy with the quality of the work and the service provided.  The new structure looks great, outside and in, and I am proud to display the HRS Construction work sign that is on my front lawn.

    Pantalone Construction Inc
I called Pantalone Construction hoping to acquire an estimate for the structural work I needed done on my front porch. Mr. Pantalone was very pleasant on the phone and explained in detail the estimate process he used before any actual construction was agreed upon. He also talked at great length about what a "good worker" he was and what "good reviews" he had listed in several locations. He ended the conversation by promising he would call me back "in a few hours" (after he got done with his current job) to set up an appointment to come out to my house and look at my porch, to give me an estimate for the construction.
I never heard from him again. All talk - and LOTS of it - but no action!

    Summit Construction of NY Inc
I spent around $4000 on the job. I got an energy audit done. He presented me with different packages and modelled the pay back for the energy audit. Later, he went around and did the air sealing. He checked out the insulation, which was blown in from the outer wall and later, he did the blower-door test, to find out the difference. It really was a big difference. The second floor is much more leveled in terms of temperature. So, it made a big impact and my energy bills decreased. I will hire this company again if required.
