    Fridholm Painting
This company was impressive from the beginning (preparing an estimate) and throughout (excellent quality work). The workers were polite, hard working, and very neat, always cleaning up after the day's work. From the beginning, I was impressed with John Fridholm: he gave us a very thoughtful and thorough estimate, never using a "hard sell", unlike several other companies we contacted for estimates. This respectful attitude is reflected in his workers, all of whom were a pleasure to have here doing the painting and repair work. Our house looks absolutely beautiful and we are very happy we chose this company.

Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Albany
I used Champion Windows to replace my two sliders windows in my basement. I chose Champion because of an Angie?s List ?Big Deal? where I got $250 worth of windows for $25. I have bought a Big Deal before and it went well. If this had been my first time, I would probably never do it again.  Dealing with Champion was a hassle from the beginning.
When I signed up through Angie?s List and paid $50 ($25 each for two windows) I got the confirmation email that  Champion would contact me in a few days.  They didn?t. I had to contact Angie?s List who gave me a number to call and I got something set up.
The salesman who came over to do the initial measurement had never heard of the Big Deal I signed up for. First he was trying to argue that it was $25 off per window.  No it wasn?t. Then he was trying to get me to buy more windows so I could get a better
deal.  By this time I was wary of Champion, so I stuck with what I had signed up for.
After he left, I realized something.  The only way he was able to understand the deal was $225 off per window.  So that was all
he took off my order.  But I had paid $25 per window up front, so he should have taken off $250 per window.   The balance they thought I owed was $50 too high.  I immediately called and left a message for the district manager.  Never heard back.
A few weeks later, the tech who did the final measurements came over.  He was fine. He explained the district manager had been out with an injury.  So I gave him another chance and called and left another message.  Again, never heard back.  When the windows were in and they called to schedule the installation, I said this had to get resolved first.  Then they did take the disputed $50 off.
The actual installation went fine and the installer Brian did a good job.  They seem like quality windows.
Your review makes me select Yes or No would I use Champion again.  I'm not sure.  Overall I am satisfied with the windows but the company really needs to work on responsiveness.

    HOME QUALITY LLC
    Great customer service!

I placed a call to Home Quality LLC looking for a price estimate for window and door retrofits.  I was hoping for an appointment within a week or so---   Larry came by the next morning and I had a price quote the following day.

Larry and his helper, Brett, were alway on time.  The work quality was excellent.  They repaired the walls and trim and even re-painted the areas around the windows and doors.

At the end of each work day, they completely clean up so I never had to deal with a mess.  I also appreciated how careful Larry and Brett  were around my dogs who constantly wanted to "check in" with them throughout the work day.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Home Quality LLC and will certainly use them again.

    Ado Construction
Ado came to measure on a Friday, and asked at that time if it was convenient for him to start the work immediately. I quickly accepted and he began the cutting of the wall. At the end of the first half day of work, I had a rough cut pass through, but no dust, wall particles or other mess. He needed to get the materials to match the trim, It was a rainy day, but he and his assistant set up their saws outside my front door. Each time they went in and out, they removed their shoes so as not to track in dirt! At the end of the day, I had exactly what I wanted! I had told him I'd paint and stain and when I finished, I had exactly what I wanted! It looks beautiful. There was not a speck of dust either inside or out. I highly recommend him, and will definitely call him for my next project!

    Ado Construction

Excellent! Only one task Ado couldn't complete, but that was due to previously existing wiring problems in my house. He is personable, talented, efficient and punctual. I took his card and will certainly call him again!

    Koops Overhead Doors LLC

Ed showed up the first thing the next morning. He replaced 2 springs

& came back the next day to install a new opener. He was very professional &

worked fast and was very neat. He cleaned up and made sure I knew all the

features of the new opener. I would use him again and would recommend him

to anyone needing garage door service.

    Cousins Construction
I chose Cousins Construction due to the numerous favorable reviews. I called for an estimate on having gutters and downspouts installed in the back of my house, as well as for repairs to rotted wood under my sliding door to the deck. Within a couple of days a guy named Pat showed up who appeared to be very competent and professional and he gave me a reasonable price for the work to be done. I signed off on the provided estimate and was told that someone would get back to me shortly to schedule the job. So far, so good...
After waiting two weeks with no reply, I called Cousins to inquire as to when my job would be performed. The receptionist said that the manager was out of town and would call back after a few days. A few more days passed with no reply so I called again and got the manager who said he had a note on his desk and was "just about to call me". He said they would arrive at 10 AM on the following Monday to do the work, but they ended up calling me that day just before noon to cancel out (due to a mix-up in day care services for two of their workers). They rescheduled for the following day after I told them I'd make arrangements with my office to work from home. The next day arrives and another no-show and no phone call. I called again and was told they "might" show up late afternoon or early evening. I asked if that was enough time to install the gutters and do the repair work but they said they didn't realize there was repair work to be done. I said it was stated on the work agreement which he eventually found and then responded back to me "well, how about tomorrow then ?". I told him I couldn't take a second day in a row working away from the office and we rescheduled for the following week. That day arrived with another no-show and no phone call.
In all my years dealing with contractors, I've never seen a company so unprofessional and so blatantly disrespectful of their customers. While I can understand cancellations and having to reschedule is a normal part of business, simply blowing off your customer three times in a row with not even a 30 second courtesy phone call is completely unacceptable. I am baffled by the numerous good reviews they've received from other customers. Perhaps they overbook and give priority to the bigger ticket jobs, I'm not sure, but they shouldn't be stringing their customers along and keep them waiting for weeks for workers who are no-shows.
After I called one last time to officially cancel the job, they didn't even bother to offer an explanation for their repeated no-shows. Take my advice....stay away from these folks !

Howard And Sons Roofing & Remodeling
We hired him to clean the gutters and replace the siding. I had him wait to do the siding until another contractor could replace our porches. The owner, Matthew Howard, called the contractor we had hired to replace the proches and had them cancel the contract, without our permission, so he could take the job. He told me that building the porches and replacing the siding would take 3 weeks back in September and it still hasn't been completed. He has been ignoring our calls and messages. He just sent men out to pick up all the tools and ladders that were left on our property.  I also had to pay an electrician come out to fix an installation he had done, by someone that wasn't an electrician, for a new light fixture.

    Comfort Windows
The first time they did not order hinges that were the correct size. However, they replaced these. They came and made some corrections, including on my stairs. The whole job took a long time but they did good work. I sent some questions to them by mail but they said they did not receive any mail. Some of the workers they sent to do the work were very nice. I have a warranty for the work so, hopefully, everything will be fine.

    Bennett Contracting Inc
Bennett replaced all 14 windows, 2 sliding glass doors and 2 picture windows. The wrapping they applied to the outside of the windows is beautiful, they did an excellent job. At the beginning of each day they came in and told me what work was being done for that day and at the end of the day they cleaned up and came in to say good bye and what time they would be back the next day. They all were very nice and professional. They were finished when they said they would be and came in to show us how to work the windows. I would highly recommend Bennett Contracting to anyone...They won't disappoint....
