    Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing of NY
Proposal was for a french drain system with a single catch basin and pump. A single trench to be dug along the front and side wall of my basement, wrapping around an interior concrete wall which separates the main area of the basement from a work room (and former coal bin). Trench and drain tubing to be graded and pitched so as to lead water to the catch basin and pump. When the day of installation came, the workers arrived promptly. The job foreman took one look at the installation plan and he realized that it could not be completed as originally planned. What the estimator missed was that the inner wall which separates the workroom from the main space was actually the foundation wall of the house and that digging down and through the floor in the doorway would compromise the footing of the house and make it structurally unsound. The foreman called Mid-Atlantic and a supervisor came over. His solution, and the only one truly possible: divide the basement into two areas (workroom and main room) and install two separate systems. This meant an additional cost that he stated was $2500. At this point I should have told him to either do it for the original price or to pack up his toys and leave. But we compromised and split his stated cost and added $1250 to the original price for the second pump system. The workers then proceeded with the work. They broke through the basement floor, digging trenches around the foundation, and put down the drainage piping system. Never once did I see them check the level to make sure it was properly pitched. While doing the work, they disconnected and removed an old sink in the basement and in moving it out to the yard it basically fell apart. I purchased a replacement sink and when their contracted plumber came the next day to make the pump connections I had him also connect the new sink. Mid-Atlantic originally balked at paying for the extra work for connecting the new sink, but I pointed out that it was *their* workers who broke it and that it was only fair that they pay for the replacement's installation, which they would have had to do if the old sink were reinstalled. Once the job was done, Mid-Atlantic did a reasonably thorough job of clean-up of the area. To date we have not had any issues with water in the basement so it's likely that the system is working as designed, although the pumps never have kicked in to my knowledge and there is only a little water in the catch-basin, left over from the pump tests at installation time. In summary: Mid-Atlantic's initial job estimator made a serious error in his remediation design that, had he done it properly, I would never have accepted the proposal for the job as it was too costly. And having made the mistake, they still tried to nickel-and-dime me for the additional cost of the plumbing hookup for the new sink. This is not the way to keep a customer happy and although the quality of their finished work appears to be adequate I cannot endorse them due to their business policies.

I been back and forth over doing these renovations for some time but when a pipe busted in my ceiling I was left with no choice but to have it renovated. Prior to, my home was very drafty and winters felt as if we had no windows, naturally I assumed my problem was my windows. I called a few companies I was referred to by close friends and family that had work done previously, but to make a long story short I choice DCS because they have extensive knowledge of working with insurance and helped me with my claim, but also because they did something the other guys didn't. They explained everything that was wrong with my home prior to the water damage which was the actual cause of my original problem and told me exactly what needed to be done never withholding information. Very open and sincere guys.

The work started slow which made me nervous but before I can ask why or even stop by to see for myself I would be notified which was always a relief. My home today is now my family's place of choice to hangout! I would highly recommend these guys. Not only will you get great work but you can also expect to be educated in building science as they refer to it, lol.

My property was damaged in a fire... So we had to find a licensed company to use which was a problem, too many contractors claimed to be licensed but repeatedly failed to provided necessary documents, one after another! Running short of patience and increasingly getting more aggravated I decided to require licensing information upfront before discussing my project, the pool of potential contractors dwindled to less than a hand full. But, I used this firm because they are a true design and build firm. I didn't have to look for my own architect, plumber and/or electrician as some suggested. Because of the late start with the project we did have delays but they did an excellent job at keeping us in the loop! I seldomly  had to remind then about details that we had discuss. Though they were a little bit higher priced than other contractors I was just more comfortable using them. The end result was a stunning home just as I envisioned.

I used this service provider in the past to waterproof another section of my home.   Overall the office and field workers were professional . However, I expressed a need to have the work done immediately since I was trying to rent the house by the beginning of April.  When I signed the contract March 15, 2016 and gave the deposit  I was informed that I would be contacted to schedule the job.   When 3 days passed and I did not received a call I reached out to the initial contact person.  He told me to contact the office to schedule the job and let him know when it is scheduled.  On March 18th the job was scheduled for two weeks later, April 1st.  Due to rain the work did not start until April 4th.  The work was suppose to be done over two days.  They did not show up the second day because they could not find matching tiles to replace the ones which were removed.    However, we traveled from Suffolk county to Queens to provide access to the house.  No one called to let us know they would not be showing up on the second day.  We had to follow-up to obtain and up-date.  Due to rain the job was further delayed.  The work was finally complete on April 9th.

Entire team at LIW was great and responsive.  I got their details from Angie?s List and  Ken , the rep, came over very quickly on one
of the coldest day to inspect the basement. He was very informative and clearly explained the most likely cause for the problem.   He provided the estimate and based on the work involved, I found it to be reasonable so did not bother to contact anyone else for the estimate. Owner John stopped by day before the work was supposed to start to check the site and confirm the work. He was very professional and once again explained exactly they will be doing to fix the problem.  Next day John arrived with workers at the time indicated. They had to dig at least 6 feet deep and about 13 feet long  to fix the problem. They found couple of cracks in the wall and ensure there were no other cracks beyond the problem area.  I found  both workers  very courteous and professional.
Job was completed  in 6 plus hours and they cleaned up the area after they were finished. If there are any problems with
their work, John assured me they will return to fix it ASAP.

They found cracks in foundation to lower part of home.  After several heavy rainfalls, we no longer get water leaking into our basement.  Over the past 20 years, we have attempted to resolve this problem with a # of other contractors.  We hope it is finally solved.

Very honest and helpful.  Could have charged me a ton of money.  Instead, he was very honest about assessing my needs and gave expert advice that didn't actually require his work.  I would recommend them 100%!

As devastating as you can imagine having your home burn down because of a fire, nothing will prepare for the madness that will soon follow. But, luckily for my family we hired the right contractor to do the work for us. The reason we hired 4 Kings Construction was because of how helpful the contractor was, they wasn't pushy, and helped us out with our situation before we even decided on who we wanted to use. He had a real concern for the well being of my family that stood out form the rest, very honest young man not scared to say that he doesn't know and will find out and let you know. I find that to be admirable trait, but back to my house!

When I first met with Eddy at my house 11 months ago about 3 weeks after the fire we had a very nice detailed conversation about his construction experience, how long he's been in business and the road ahead of me. When they started the work I was very skeptical because its a fairly new company, but they was so well organized and the communication between them and the constant updates they gave me made me feel confident that we chose the right guys, and the terms of the contract made it so I can get rid of them at anytime if I'm not satisfied with what was going on, at no cost to me, made me feel just as confident. They really worked long hours and very hard to get us back in our home after the new year as they promised my wife. I have no regrets, the craftsmanship of their work on the interior and exterior of our home was absolutely remarkable. We now have the best looking house on our block. Great company I would use them again if I needed more construction done.

The experience was exceedingly aggravating.  The wall system involved is proprietary and Bil-Ray is the sole licensed supplier/installer for the downstate region.  The system itself is of excellent design and construction.  We were given an estimate that it would take 5 or 6 work days to complete,  And, in fact, all of the work probably did amount to 5 or 6 days--stretched out over 9 weeks.  Except for one full day the people involved (usually just one man working alone) were never present for more than an hour or two.  At times no one showed up for stretches of several days to two weeks.  The company was completely unresponsive to all complaints and communications.  Much of the work was done shoddily and had to be redone.
In addition, the surface of one wall panel was damaged.  Rather than replace it, as I requested, they "resurfaced" it.  Within a month after  the project's completion the new surface peeled.  It took me three months of constant compalints to get them to fix this and I only got them to do it after getting the manufacturer/licenser of the the product to interven on my behalf.

The product itself has performed superbly but I could never recommend anyone hiring this company.
