    Sears Home Services

This was a case of classic bad service.  I purchased a stove, dishwasher and a refrigerator.  The stove went out almost immediately.  they sent a repairman TWO WEEKS later.  I found out that his job was to verify that I had a problem.  He informed me that I needed a part but that he doesn't carry parts on his truck.  He said that he would order the part which would be delivered to me and that I should call to schedule an appointment.  The part arrived approximately 10 days later.  I called and was told that the earliest they could come service was three weeks later.  it took almost two months from the time of my call to basic repair.

The tale of the refrigerator made the stove service seem speedy.  I purchased all of the appliances in all the appliances in September 2014 and the week before thanksgiving the freezer portion of the refrigerator gave out (luckily I didn't throw away my old fridge).  The same process took place two weeks to send someone out to diagnose the problem two weeks to get the part four weeks for someone to come out to install the part (installer informed me that it was the wrong part) approixamtely 3 weeks to get the right part.  And then the real whammy they changed their policy and only provided service to my area twice a month on Thursdays when my wife and I are at work.  Given our work schedules and their new policy it took almost 10 weeks before we could have the repairs made.  The did give us a credit to purchase a small freezer and a food alloance for spoilage.  However total time from start to finish was approximately five and a half months!!!

Calling customer service was especially frustrating.  On a positive note I will say that he of the men sent to perform the service was professional and sympathetic to my frustrations.

Great worker.  I called he came on time very same day and had the part I needed on the truck. he installed it right away.  I gave him a B on the price but I think it was a fair price. I would use Tip Top again in a heartbeat if the need arises. Honest ,friendly and customer focused what more can you say.

    Affordable Appliance Svc Inc
Called Affordable Appliance on Monday because the dishwasher was leaking badly. John called back Monday night and promised to come check it out on Tuesday. He was punctual on Tuesday and determined that the tub itself had developed a small hole where there were burn marks from a long-ago stirring spoon meltdown. He offered to order a new dishwasher for us, recommending a specific model number which we could look up online. On Thursday he was back with the new dishwasher and installed it. He took the old dishwasher along when he left. The kitchen was left just as clean as when John and Chuck had arrived. The only stress in this whole experience was dealing with the water when the leak was first discovered--once John showed up, it was a cakewalk. His service was fantastic and saved us a lot of time and worry.

    First Class Remodeling Inc
I called John in mid-April because we wanted to totally remodel a full bath into a half-bath with laundry room and I found him on Angie's List. He returned my call promptly and scheduled an appointment for the following evening. He arrived on-time and was able to give me a quote on the spot. The other two contractors we received estimates from took a couple of days to give us their quote. His price was not the lowest, but sometimes you get what you pay for. We chose John because he was highly rated on Angie's List and was the most professional of the three gentlemen who provided proposals, and seemed to be the most knowledgeable. His time frame was reasonable - 1-1/2 weeks to start and 7 business days to complete the job- and showed up on a Monday morning as scheduled. He arrived at 8:15 am every morning and left between 4:15 and 6:00 pm daily. John works hard and non-stop. Our ugly and outdated full bath was transformed into a beautiful and updated powder room with a laundry room. He completely gutted the room and gave us new sheet-rocked walls and ceiling, painted and installed wainscoting and installed new toilet and sink vanity as well as unitized washer/dryer. John did it all except for the electrical but he brought in an electrician who did a good job, as well. We have already scheduled to have John come back in one month to demo and remodel a sitting room on our 2nd floor, and would recommend him as a quality contractor.

    Tip Top Service
He didn't have to repair anything. He took the machine apart and he found that the barring was about to go.  He said it would not be worth fixing. He said just to keep using it until it quit working and then get a new one.  It was good advice that cost me very little.

I need a new washer. He just confirmed what the first company said. They were unable to fix it and they let me know that it would cost too much to fix it and recommended that we buy a new washer.
