  • Perfection! Pumps, brakes, pads, wires, do-dads, I have had plenty of things repaired on my '06 and '03 vehicles. They know what to repair and when. They predict the costs with good accuracy, so it's never a surprise when you go to collect the car.

  • I was completely satisfied they were great they kept me up to date how the work was going. I dropped my car of on a monday afternoon after I hit a deer and the work was done by saturday afternoon. The work was done great I would use them again and tell my friends about them

  • The owner charged triple the legal rate. When city legal limits were pointed out, he screamed he can do what he wants. He said the city of Poughkeepsie couldn't tell him what to charge and that I could take my chances in small claims court. A few dats after I got my car back, the name Bobby was keyed into my trunk. Never use this guy. If he overcharges you, file a complaint with the city clerk.

  • They do a good job at least when it comes to tires, I haven't done mufflers in facts I have the original mufflers in my car or brakes there so I don't know how they do on that area with getting, putting on new tires and taking care of the tires are fine.

  • Probably one of the reasons they didn't call me back was because the cost of the most recent would be on them. They were selling me the car and it had a little defect on it so they were going to cover the cost to replace the piece. Just because I have an expensive car, I guess that's how the cost goes with it. Because I'm going to a dealership, it's going to be more expensive than if I were to go to a local auto repair place. There was a bit of a wait for my car to get fixed and then I had to go back so that wasn't really convenient. Their professionalism was good.

  • That's the only one place I've been to since I've been here. Since August, I am still waiting for a phone call to say that they got the part that they ordered for my car but they never called me back. They were really good. I just feel like now that I bought a car from them, their service is bad when it should be the opposite. They have shuttle service and they have a lounge area. They provide free snacks and beverages while I wait. I'm just upset because I've been waiting for a phone call for a piece for my car.

  • I needed my windshield replaced due to damage (insurance claim).
Was given a 12-5 Window on a Saturday for them to come to house to do the job.   Received 4-5 e-mails before the appointment
with all sorts of confirmation info.
They called to say they had a cancellation, they got here around 10:30 AM.  The installer was very professional and did the job in the time he said he would (less than 2 hours).
He went so far as to inform me of a small problem he had re-installing my rear view mirror.  He said he did something to get around the issue but wanted to inform me of it anyway.  Told me that if an issue should arise with the rear-view that I should call the office and ask to speak to his boss so that some other fix could be arranged.
I was impressed by this.  As someone who tackles household projects, I understand that things don't always work as you had planned.  You sometimes need to create fixes as you go.  At least now I know that they had an issue and they 'own it'.  No surprises, just letting me know up front just in case.
The price was reasonable ($0.00) as this was done under insurance.
I guess the final judge will be when I go through the car wash, or it rains.  I was told to wait 3 days before going to the car wash.

  • This was for a 26 year old car that it's getting hard to find parts for.   I had already looked under the car and found the muffler and all pipes were in need of replacement.  I stopped in and Jim's checked it out coming up with the same assessment. Jim's had the muffler in stock, but not all the pipes.  He called around and located all the parts, and tried to order, but one pipe that was in stock according to the distributor's computer actually wasn't.  Jim's called me to discuss options of using a more expensive pipe from another distributor that may or may not be in stock and would have to be shipped, or of welding in a new flex pipe to my front header pipe (the only part of this pipe that was bad; this was the pipe that the distributor didn't have).  Jim's recommended I do that, and I agreed.
Jim's got the work done in afternoon.  Welding a new flex pipe section into my original equipment stainless steel front pipe worked well, I looked and the welds look good.  The installation appears to be well done, although the quality of the aftermarket pipes isn't quite up to the original. But with the age of the car we had to use what's available.  I had previously replaced the exhaust at the dealer to get original equipment parts, but those are no longer available.  Original equipment used aluminized pipes to resist rust, and they also fit somewhat better (tighter up under the car body, with extra heat shields attached to the pipe). The new pipes appear to be plain steel and painted steel that will probably not last as long (but the car may not last that much longer anyway).
Jim's was very courteous and did honest work.
Parts prices appeared to be list price, with an additional labor charge; this is pretty much standard anywhere you'd get this work done.  I  probably could have got the parts cheaper if I wanted to install myself, but I didn't want to do that (and I really couldn't have, with the welding required).  The price was reasonable, but not cheap, for the job including installation.
I did also get a quote from the dealer, for about $250 more than Jim's price. The dealer also would have used aftermarket parts since  the original equipment parts are discontinued.

  • This was my first visit to Fishkill Tire, and so far they've made a good impression.
I went looking for a well-rated service shop on Angie's List after sometimes being pressured by other shops into making questionable or unnecessary repairs, and was pleased to not encounter any of this at Fishkill Tire.  Instead, they told me my vehicle was in good condition (it should be, it's not my primary vehicle, it's garaged and gets very little use).
I only had the inspection done today, but they made a good impression with friendly and helpful service. I had to wait a bit, but that's fine because I arrived without an appointment. Although they're not the closest shop to my house, they made a good impression and appear to be honest so I'll likely be back for more service in the future.

  • This work was done on a SAAB 2004 a discontinued car company.  The car steering wheel locked and were unable to start the car,
Karl responded immediatly and was able to give the diagnostic detail within the day. He is very honest, professional and does the work in a timely matter. The work as always was done and completed as promised. One important thing to mention he is very clean and very respectful. We've been going to Karls for the past three year and we're very happy with his work. we highly reccommand him.
