    At the break of dawn last Saturday we realized the buzzing sound we heard wasn't from a bug in our gutter but was rather a nest of yellow jackets eating their way through our bedroom ceiling.  At 7am we received a call back from Walter at NY Pest Control and he promised to be here by 10am which he was.  A few hours later, hundreds of bees and their nest were removed from our home.  The area was cleaned immaculately also.  When we saw a few stragglers outside the house the next day, Ernesto came to check out the situation at no charge.  They were both so professional and nice, we hired them to come replace the sheetrock and fill in the holes outside the house.  Another great job by Walter! We've never had a pest issue before but their card is hanging on the side of our fridge just in case!!  PLUS..they do gutters.  We will hire them for sure to clean our gutters when the time comes due!  Thank you Walter and Ernesto!

    The exterminator noted that it had just been some carpenter bees trying to build a nest but they were no longer there. He did not charge us for his time since there was not an infestation, although he certainly could have. He also looked around the interior where we saw ants last year and determined there was no activity. He came on time and was very courteous and did not pressure us to buy any services.

    Marc was the absolute best!!!! I called him on Monday morning to ask for help with a wasp nest in the wall of our first floor. He came by the same day (within a few hours of my call), was on time, professional, and we paid what we agreed upon on the phone call that morning. I wish every company was this easy to work with!! In the days since we have not seen any wasps. Definitely go with Lords Pest and Marc. You will be satisfied and pest free!!

    very well. Bee hive was removed by Exterminex employee named Sal. He accomplished his mission very professionally and explained what had to be done. I had called two bee hive removers found in two telephone directories. One wanted $300 and the other $280.  Exterminex charged $99 and could not have done a better job. Sal was professional, prompt and very personable. This was the first time I used Angie's List to selectr a service provider. I was very satisfied. He did his job in less than half an hour.

    Rest Easy Pest Control

    After email and messaging snafus we finally got connected.  Jeremy was very apologetic when he called that he didn't receive the first messages.  He was very professional and courteous over the phone and was a pleasure to deal with.  He set up the inspection to conform to my schedule with no problem.  Marty was the inspector.  On the day of the inspection, Jeremy called me to LMK that Marty was running a little behind and would be there a little later than our scheduled time.  Both Jeremy and Marty called me when they were on their way.  I like this in a business.  Marty arrived and did a very thorough inspection, giving me advise on what to do to make sure we didn't get any unwanted guests in the house.  Fortunately my mom's house was clean, but he did give me an estimate just in case I needed them in the future.  Thank you Rest Easy Pest Control.

    major problem/issue-while initial price of $800 for installing 22 devices was okay, they never mentioned to me that they would charge $360 for simply  leaving them installed a second year--even if I did not want or need their visiting/professional services for the second year.  Major issue is overall price after first year.

    I'm surprised at the good reviews for this company.  We have termites in our detached garage and wanted only that area treated.  I told them that we did not want the full system of bait traps placed around the home because of the hefty price tag and eternal service contract.  They all but refused and continually tried to up sell with scare tactics.  When I finally asked point blank whether they would just spray the one point of trouble she said the minimum charge would be $1000.

    The overall experience with Knockout has been very good. Customer service reps are always friendly and professional. The technicians mostly are knowledgeable and courteous. They took care of the carpenter ants, ants and other pest issues this past year for us and overall we are happy with their service.

    The price I pay them includes tax.  They’re responsive and flexible.  I used to have them every month and they suggested that I use them every other month to save money, since my immediate problem wasn’t so bad.  They told me that if I do this, and if I have a problem even if it’s every other month, they’ll still come if I call them.  So that was initiated by them and not at my request, and so I thought that was very nice.  They have pretty good customer service and they follow through.  Although I don’t know if I’ve had the same person come which I thought I would, and if there’s somebody I don’t like, they just replace them right off.  They’re responsive to customer feedback and they’re proactive as well especially with the money, which was very nice of them to do that.  It costs less to do it every other month, but then I pay more if I’m doing it every month.  I still have the availability of calling them if I just sign up for the every other month service.  So I save money in the long run.  They’re located not that close to me but they go all over the island to do pest control service.  I have no basis for comparison with regard to their price, but it seems reasonable to me.  I will continue to use them in the future.

    Terminex - Roselle -Termite & Pest Control
    Where do I begin? Terminix may provide quality termite control, but their other pest control division is a real mess. We tolerated a poor level of service (ie, the wrong chemical being used to treat a pest so that the pest proliferated), and a nightmare communications system. We signed up with the pest plan because we had flies in the attic and they were migrating down to the bedroom off of the attic. We also had bees coming down into the bedroom. We asked our technician to find out why we had flies in the attic and how to get rid of the carpenter bees we had. The tech sprayed for the bees, but did not do anything for the flies. He did not tell us that he could not, but kept putting it off. He told us that we probably had something dead up there, but did not offer any way to remedy the situation, nor did he give us any evidence that the cause was a dead pest. He then offered to bomb the attic if we purchased the chemical ourselves from a home supply company. The tech was eventually taken off our account, but nothing was done to address our pest issue. We continued to be billed $99. quarterly for the tech to come and squirt some chemical around the house. We had another tech come and spray for bees, but then the original tech returned to tell us that the wrong chemical had been sprayed! The worst was when we scheduled an appointment. I returned home hours in advance of the appointment to find two messages on my answering machine. The message was to ask me if the tech could come earlier than the scheduled appointment. The other was to tell me that the tech was at the house at the earlier time, which I had not agreed to. I called back, only to be rerouted to the main line which told me that my appointment had been cancelled and that I now had to reschedule!!! Unbelievable--who does that??????
    By the way, we were not allowed to contact the local office in Plainview; only the main office. The main office then takes a message, which is supposedly relayed to the servicing office. Well, the branch which provides the service either never receives the messages, or just ignores them. It took 5 messages to get the Plainview manager, James Langford, to return my call. He promised to come to the house to look at the fly issue. He never got back to me with a date or time to come to my home. When I called to ask why Mr. Langford had not followed up. I was instructed to call Executive Services. The woman I spoke to was very rude to me, and asked me how many times I had called to follow up, as if I should be calling more than once. She gave me the impression that it was my fault that I did not follow up numerous times. I reminded her that it took 5 calls just to get one call returned.
    I finally had enough and called Terminix in September to cancel. I was told that I could not cancel in the middle of a billing cycle, but that it was noted in my account that it would be closed in November. In November, there was a charge on my account for the next billing cycle. I called again to ask why my account had not been closed and was told that I could either cancel it right then and there and lose my money, or wait until Dec. 1st. I called last week and asked for my account to be cancelled. We'll see if I have to dispute charges on my credit card or not.
    Lastly, this was an accident, but it is worth mentioning: One of the techs who came to check our bait stations drove the truck into the side of our house as he was pulling into the driveway. Luckily, the gutter downspout was positioned into the drive and he only ended up bashing into that. I heard the noise from inside the house and saw the truck there. The tech did not say a word to me and left. I had to follow up with Executive Services, get a quote for a repair, and deal with their legal team to get the entire matter resolved. Fortunately, they addressed this issue quickly.
