Deck Building reviews in Pleasantville

  • We had a really tough terrain to work with and Finest Craftsman spared no detail in making sure the deck was safe, secure and beautiful. We had unexpected additional costs pop up and Finest Craftsman did their best to keep us close to our budget. The deck is stunning and we would definitely hire them again.

  • Great! Only co. I will use. Professional, punctual, neat. I've had several projects with Briko where there have been snags or holdups with suppliers (not due to Briko) and Briko was great about working around issues and still getting the job done on time. Completely reliable and excellent work. Patient and accomodating with changes to plans and proposals and 100% trustworthy.

  • Excellent work, good humor from the crew, a strong crew foreman and it was done on time with very good quality. This is the second time we've used them for a major project. The cost was also below other estimates and the quality was excellent.

  • Got a quick estimate --in writing.  Very prompt and professional.  Seems very knowledgeable.  We used another contractor eventually but would definitely contact this company for future work projects also.

  • A very satisfactory experience. A thorough explanation of what would be done was supplemented with an extensive set of brochures and other related materials. Tim and Barbara were easy to deal with. They responded quickly to any questions or concerns. The crew worked efficiently and professionally - from start to finish the job was completed in about 8 hours. Everything outlined in the Angie's Big Deal and in subsequent documents was done and the final price met the estimate. Clean up was thorough.

  • There are not enough great things I can say about this contracting company!! Both Valentino & Ben are extremely knowledgable about their craft. They have been responsive to our needs & have made themselves available to answer any questions we had both along the way & even when we had concluded the projects. Their workers are amazing, polite, friendly & clean. Having been under renovation for a year, I can honestly say that I miss them in my home & would use nobody else from here on out!! I can rest assured that we are in good hands & that everything is being managed appropriately when my husband & I are at work. You will not be disappointed using Lisi Contracting & most importantly, they are secure in the work they do & make it fun every step of the way!! Thanks to them, my husband & I have built our dream home :)

  • We put a bid out for our project to 3 different contractors. We found Frank at Confident Home to be the most thorough in his analysis of the architectural plans. He inspected the property, asked us some questions about things that were not on plan, and his bid was well thought out.
Frank clearly explained the entire process to us and handled all of the coordination of services and permit needs (town inspector, dept of highway, drainage and stone patio contractors that we brought in, flooring company, etc.).
Frank is very detail oriented and takes a lot of pride in his work. He was very demanding of perfection from his sub-contractors, and from other workers that came in to contribute that were not part of his company. Frank is very conscientious of keeping the work site clean, which we very much appreciated.
Frank's pricing was completely transparent. He constructed his contract to be paid based on successful completion of different milestones. So other than the initial 25% up front, every time we paid Frank it was only after he completed a specific task (like painting, framing, roofing, etc...).
We absolutely LOVE the final outcome of our project. The deck looks fantastic and the garage is amazing. Frank professionalism, eye for detail, and pride in his work made the final output and quality outstanding.

  • The skylight did not line up with the sheetrock sides, ended up bringing in someone else to fix it.
Two doors to the closet do not close because they are not hung straight. Could not get him back to fix.
    Left the closet very dirty.
Installed Ikea dressers in the closet, but left out one cross bar between drawers.
French doors stuck at the bottom, half the screws securing the doors to the frame were not put in.
Floor molding along wall of French Doors was warped.
Shingles on outside of house did not line up, big gap between existing shingles and new. When I pointed it out he said it would be fine when painted. Person who did the drawings came by and said it would leak.Benchmark came back to repair it but just pulled out the backing of the shingles and now they are loose,
The outside railing for the landing on the new stairs was not secured on the bottom and could be pushed out.. Came back to fix that.
Stairs were not secured and wobbled. Came back and sloppily put in one 2x4 to make it more stable.
Improperly securedd the new deck portion to the house removing the shingles, telling me he put in a special material to protect the house from moisture, found out later that it was the shielding under the shingle.
The staircase is not resting on the support under it. the 2x4's on the new portion of the deck are missing many screws.
It took so long for Benchmark to respond to come back to fix things and the minimal repairs done were of such poor quality that I ended our work relationship
Even though the contract states that the work is guaranteed for one year.
Every component of the project was done substandardly with minimal motivation to make it right. I also ended up paying significantly extra for the assembly of pre fab dressers installed in the closet.

  • Angela and her team assisted with a large variety of projects around my home. If you can name it, she or her team can do it. The work is always first class and professional. Finish work is great but even the things you would not notice are terrific (for example, making sure the parts of the project that are in the basement are tidy and clearly laid out-- not everyone does this). Angela is one of the greatest professionals working in this area. She generously focused on our goals and tried to solve them, even if this meant referral to one of her trusted partners (like her countertop contractor). She is the most professional, pleasant, and trustworthy contractor I have worked with (and we have had many positive experiences). If you need ktchen/bath remodel, general handyman (woman) work she is the best, don't hesitate. We had actually had contact with many others prior including the 'franchise' folks and there is no comparison. , Finally, we are convinced that she is the most focused on doing a great job, solving the problem, and helping us, above her ability to charge for it. "Hire her" and you won't be sorry.
