Concrete Repair reviews in Pleasantville

    Sentro Construction Corp
Our initial interactions went very well, they were a recommended mason and I was comfortable and confident in their ability, He was very responsive and provided a reasonable estimate, he showed up as expected and completed the work. About 3 weeks later we had our first rain storm and they water was continuing to pool at the front door, I reached out to John to have him come and look. He was unable to come but provided an estimate based on pictures that I sent, but never showed up to do the work nor did I receive any response to my numerous emails, voicemails and text messages. But the main reason for this review is that the original grout replacement work that was completed did not last and the walkway is in worse shape than before he fixed it. Within 4 months the walkway has almost no grout and the stairs are wobbly as the stones are not set correctly. I contacted John and he said that he needed to use a different material and that he would stand by his work, that was over 7 months ago and nothing is fixed. I cannot recommend this company due to their lack of responsiveness and the quality of their work. It has taken me so long to write this review as I truly believed that he would stand by the quality of his work and repair the damage but after so long I felt it necessary to document my experience

    Doctor Pavers
Did an excellent job in a timely way, despite a lot of rainy days. Very professional, arriving on time and when they said they would, and doing an expert job. They really know their business, and offered good advice when I was unsure what needed to be done. Very clear about what they were going to do and how much it would cost. They also fixed a few things I hadn't noticed (thank you!) and left the job site clean and in good order. The crew was pleasant, friendly, hard-working, and wonderfully competent. I highly recommend them.

The team arrived on time, and completed the work efficiently and within one day, despite the intense heat.  They were professional and courteous, and did a great job.  We would definitely recommend Doctor Pavers for masonry work.

The job was done with excellent workmanship and attention to detail.  Roberto and his assistant showed up when promised and were courteous to me and my wife.  He also cleaned up after the work, which doesn't always happened.

    ANMED CONTRACTING INC
I heard of this compnay from my neighbor.  They have done alot of work for them, but the most impressive job they have done was the new garage that they built from scratch.  Thay really did a beautiful job.
I cracked one side of the front sill of my garage by backing my car into it.  However, the wood was rotten so the little tap with the car was enough to damage it.  It was cracked enough where the garage door would not close.  I called many contractors.  No one had a clue what a "sill" was.  They assumed I meant a windowsill.  Then when I explained that it was the "sill" around the door, they told me to call a garage door repairman.  But the door was fine.  And I didn't just call small contracting companies.  I spoke with many well known ones in the area so I was surprised that they didn't unserstand what the issue was.  One contractor came and gave me an estimate of $4000 AND he would replace the garage door.  I pointed out that the door was perfectly fine.  I guess he didn't expect me to know that and he just wanted to pad the price.  Anyway, Andy came by and gave me an estimate pretty quickly.  He told me that he was busy and would be unable to come and do the job for three weeks or so.  That was fine.  When he did come to complete the job it was done in about 6 hours.  He brought two workmen.  They were very neat and efficient.  I am very happy with the job.  It looks nice, seems quite sturdy, and most importantly, my garage door now closes.

    Vulcan Basement Waterproofing
After reading the report from the previous member, I realize how lucky my husband and I were with Vulcan. I feel their pain and was inspired to write this after reading through their experience.

We are still living trough our experience with Vulcan. Although the salesman was pleasant and seemingly knowledgeable, all else beyond our experience with him was horrific. The one thing that was strange to me was that no one came to look at the house to evaluate what would be needed to stop the water. Don was the only person that came to the house. What he said would be a simple fix with a french drain on the back wall of the basement and an additional sump pump became a sloppy and unprofessional mess.

The workers were not on time, the cement was not mixed properly nor was it finished level. It was poured so that the floor in the basement is no longer flat. If we ever want to finish our basement, the entire floor will need to be leveled. And worse than that, the floor actually crumbled because of the poor mixture ratios used. The cement was so sandy that the heels of our shoes would actually crumble the floor and leave indents and a sandy residue. The floor actually started to absorb the water that was still coming into the basement.

The management refused to send someone out to look ar the job. We eventually hired an engineer to do a report on the workmanship and define what had been done incorrectly. So $495.00 later, Vulcan sent workers to reaper the cement. The repair equated to a substandard patch job that left the floor looking worse than before. When my husband called to complain, Frank, the manager, was rude vulgar and thuggish. After multiple calls with much abusive retorts from Frank and no resolve, we decided the aggravation wasn't worth it and reported Vulcan to the Better Business Bureau.

Our basement still leaks with the exception that now the water comes up through the areas of the floor where the original cement was denigrated. How companies like this stay in business is beyond me. Hopefully our fellow members will be spared these experiences after reading these horror stories from other members. Thank you to Angie's List for giving us the opportunity to help others.
