    Access Hearing
I was recommended by a family friend to see Michael Ruffen at Access Hearing in Poughkeepsie. I've been a hearing aid wearer for years but was trying to see if there was a way to better maximize the pair I was wearing without having to take another five or six thousand dollar plunge.
Michael was able to help me immediately, as his expertise was very apparent. He worked with my existing pair of aids and was able to maximize the response on my right side, which had previously been troublesome. He was very happy to work with what I had and did not try to steer me towards a more expensive pair of aids. My case was fairly difficult as my previous hearing aid dispenser had recommended a different device in each ear, so the set I had did not match. Michael seemed to enjoy the challenge and I left there hearing better than when I walked in.
As with most hearing aids, I did find myself returning a couple of times over the next few weeks for some finer adjustments. He was eager to help and more than willing to see me on short notice.
After seeing how dedicated he was to his profession and realizing he was not first and foremost a salesman, I felt comfortable enough to ask him when it came time, what might he recommend as my next hearing aid replacement/upgrade. He actually was able to find a matched pair of Oticon aids that were one generation newer than what I had been wearing. I wound up purchasing them as they were extremely reasonably priced. While I don't know if I just lucked out or if Michael can pull a rabbit out of the hat in this way for all of his clients, I am extremely pleased with his service, expertise and professionalism. I highly recommend Access Hearing!

Timeframes were good for being evaluated and having the fittings done for the inserts. The inserts came but there was something wrong with one so it went back to be redone. The results of wearing my inserts is very good. Has improved my hip pain as well from my foot, ankle, knee and hip being more in alignment when I walk. I was also evaluated for PAD due to swelling in my ankles and some other issues. That was done very quickly with results provided.

There was an insurance issue (insurance company had said they would pay 1/2 and then said they wouldn't) and the billing staff assisted by working with the insurance company to resolve the issue to my satisfaction.

There is a quirk in their billing program that bothered me, however staff can do nothing to change the way your money is applied to your bill. I paid my co-pays on time at each visit but the billing program applied the money to the actual balance of the bill so it appeared as if I had not paid my co-pays. I received billing statements that indicated I had not paid my last copay for more than 30 days. This bothered me as it was not accurate. In the end, the money sorts itself out but would rather it reflected the actual payments.

The visit went very well just as it has for the past 10 or more years. Dr. Chan has a good touch for drawing blood. She checked my blood pressure and checked on other issues thatI am being treated for by her and other doctors. Dr. Chan has seen my husband and I through several major health issues. My husband had been diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and she and the office staff helped us through a very trying and roller coster life for two and a half years. Don,t know how I would have made it through without them.

not well. both he and his nurse were very abrupt, I was very rushed through the appointment. I had many questions which he rushed through and while he probably felt he answered them I came away very unsatisfied. He only spent about 5 minutes with me and pooh-poohed some of my concerns. Nurse was having a bad day and was practically rude. I had made an appointment for the colonoscopy but later changed mind and decided to see another doctor in a different group instead.

    Stamm, Dr. David B
It always goes very well because dr. Stamm is competent, qualified and caring. He is a good listener, an excellent diagnostician and is well versed in treatments for various conditions. His staff is caring and makes a great effort to accommodate my appointments.I am grateful for his perseverence in my case and his ability to order the correct tests to diagnose a bone infection in the foot. Smart doctor, see him when you have foot problems .
