    Noble's Appliance Repair
    This was the second time I had used Noble's Appliance Repair for my dryer. In both cases, Allen has been quick to return my call, friendly, and in both cases arrived in a timely fashion. The first time--which was 2 or 3 years ago now--he completely dissassembled and essentially refurbished the drum section of my dryer, repaired a bad latch, and had the dryer running like new by the time he left. It's been running perfectly ever since. He was also able to provide discounted parts that he salvages from machines that were at the end of their practical lifespans. This time around, the elbow that connects the dryer exhaust to the flexible hose (which connects to the outside vent) had clogged. The dryer had started to overheat, which caused the thermal fuse to do it's job by melting and cutting power to the dryer. Allen was able to diagnose this quickly, had the necessary part on board, and had me back up and running in about a hour's time after cleaning the elbow and installing a new fuse. I can highly recommend Noble's Appliance Repair. Allen's service is professional, friendly, and he'll give you an honest assessment of the problem and repair costs. I will absolutely use him again in the future.

    Had a problem with my oven. Called Gary and he knew right away what the problem was. He allowed me to come to a job site he was working at and give me the part i needed on the spot. He explained to me how to fix it. Then an hour later he was driving by my house and called to make sure everything was worked out. I was having a bit of a problem, so he kindly popped in and fixed it. A great experience. It'd be nice to have more of these kind of experiences.

    They provided us with an excellent price for the new washer and dryer. The sales person was very knowledgeable and helpful. They also provided delivery and set up. We have used their repair service several times when our 12 year old Jenn-Aire refrigerator needed service. The owner himself is the repair person. He is knowledgeable and has always been able to take care of the issue, saving us from having to purchase a new fridge.

    OK, overall.  Positives: he  was clearly competent to make this repair.  It was a minor part that needed replacement (thermal fuse, $15.) & he had one in stock in his van & installed it.  That did the trick to fix the heating issue & the dryer was back up & running within an hour.  On the other hand, he neglected to inform us when we scheduled the visit, or upon arrival, that he charged a 'house call' fee of $79 in addition to his hourly rate ($80) for whatever time he incurred doing the repairs.  I know this kind of fee isn't unusual in the trade, but I think a responsible business owner should make it a point to be explicit about disclosing that policy beforehand, rather than risk alienating customers who would be surprised by that information (we were).  Plus, that works out to $160/hr. for the service actually rendered for this visit--comparable to an attorney's hourly rate. And, he tried twice to convince us that we should invest over $300 to thoroughly clean & refurbish our dryer that day, when we were clear with him that we didn't think this was a good use of funds for an old dryer that could be replaced for a little more than that.  I don't begrudge the attempt to earn more of our business, but I don't think he is a very good listener.  Most people would not feel this was a good cost-benefit trade-off.

    I paid to have the stove installed. I stressed it was very important that the tip bracket be installed, although legally required for safety, often installers skip that because you can't see that it is not installed. Instructions to install the bracket were clearly written by the salesperson on the installation instructions and the invoice. This was in an apt building so I was not there during the installation. The installer did not  install the bracket and when I called to complain the salesperson said that was because a lot of people don't want the bracket installed because it damages the floors. I said I clearly gave instructions to do that and he was the one that wrote the instructions. The salesperson said what do you want us to do about it. He told me to just tell the tenants not to lean on the oven door when it is open. (Hello. No one leans on an oven door on purpose, unless it is a baby or a child. The point of an anti-tip bracket is to protect people who might fall and land on the door OR to protect children or teenagers who might do so. Sears got sued for not instructing its installers to install anti-tip brackets.) The price and quality for the stove was not bad. The problem is that I cannot trust this company to do repairs and I need to buy a product from a company that can repair the item during the warranty period. I would buy an item from this company if I could have it repaired elsewhere. I would have to check that out.

    We purchased a very expensive range (Viking) from them and although the appliance itself was great and has worked perfectly since installation, the process and treatment of us as a customer was poor. First, they subcontracted the installation to a guy who said he knew what he was doing but needed repeated visits at our urging to get it right. When we encountered other problems our feeling was that pleasing the customer was not foremost in their minds. After the job was completed they never called to ask if we were satisfied - but were happy to send us an extra bill for the extra work. We paid it just to finish our relationship with them.

    When they installed the new washer dryer they had forgotten one part. There was a steel connection to the dryer and they had forgotten the line for that. So they had to come back and reinstall the system. And when they did it they probably did not connect the hoses properly so it started leaking. We had it on the second floor above the kitchen and it kept dripping for quite a while on the vinyl floor. Finally it got to the point where the water came through the ceiling and the lights in the kitchen. Despite the fact that it happened a couple of weeks after they hooked it up, they did not take up the responsibility for this. There was a plumber that actually happened to be at my house and he was the one who found the problem and fixed it. I had a relationship with them for at least 20 years but I was very disappointed with their denying the responsibility and I would not use them again. They were unprofessional and their price was high too.
