    JBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INC
I found Dave here on angies list and did the usual reference checking and house visits of his past work. Each client had only great things to say which was very reassuring considering the amount of money and trust that is involved in the process. Dave and his crew were great, each day showing up around 7am to start work and always cleaning up each day. His subs did great work and had great explanations for why they did things the way they did for my education. Dave was always there to manage his subs and ensure that things were done to what he prefers and was always in contact with me to make sure that that particular work was done to my satisfaction. This type of remodeling always has things that come up for extra work and cost and dave was great about adjustments and pricing. He was always fair and always did what was necessary and did not try to sell us more. He treated this job as if it was his own basement. In the end, the job was more than what he initially quoted but again, with permits, inspections, and unforeseen work that is required during renovations it was a great outcome that you can see in my pictures. Please be aware that basement finishing requires that the owner do maintenance to prepare for the living space. This includes foundation repairs, water management (if there are leaks, fix them, heavy rains that causes rain to come in, window well water management with french drains etc) that is required by you to understand how your house behaves. You should fully understand and resolve these issues before you start this journey. Thankfully i did such a thing, and cannot be more happy and feel safe that water penetration will not happen once dave came and finished. Additionally, closing the furnace area into a now room requires that you provide adequate ventilation for it to burn. Dave assisted me in the end with a vent on the wall to allow for proper intake as you can see from the pictures. I cannot stress enough that people need to be educated on how basements are done and what can and cannot be done for yours. Dave was a great partner in this process and I cannot recommend him and his team more so for your next project. I will always be using him in the future and I hope that anyone reading this will do so as well.

    Complete Carpentry
Chris performed a total kitchen renovation for us. Everything went according to plan and Chris made the whole process super easy. He guided us through all the decisions that had to be made. We always felt comfortable calling him and getting his expert advice. Chris started exactly when he said he would and stayed on schedule throughout the entire job. He was always there on the job every single day doing all the work himself with a helper. When you hire Complete Carpentry you are hiring Chris, the owner. We loved the fact that he does all the work himself and doesn't sub out any of the work. Chris is honest, trustworthy, a perfectionist who has great attention to detail, neat, hardworking, and a pleasure to work with. We would definitely recommend Chris to anyone looking to do any work in their home and we will be using him again in the spring to do more work in our own home. He is simply the best!

We couldn't be happier with the work performed. Chris and his staff are professional. They came on time, worked a full day and did the work with a smile on their faces. Everything was done to the highest level of quality. They were always willing to accomodate our requests and made the process as easy and pleasant as can be. I plan to use Complete Carpentry for our next project in a few months. I have already recommended them to our friends and would highly recommend them again and again.

    Just Right Carpentry & Painting
Just Right did a fine job framing my skylights, installing recessed lighting, insulation and new drywall for the ceiling. Each day they were on time, worked professionally, and delivered a quality job that looked great. Their price was fair and overall we were happy.

    Complete Carpentry
Having used Chris in the past to remodel the bathrooms in my home, there was no one else I would hire to gut and rebuild my basement. To find a contractor that is honest, that I can leave in my house when I go to work, and is never late, is unheard of these days. Chris came on time by 8 am every morning, and stayed until 5 pm every night. If he needed to finish something, he stayed late. Before he would leave, his work area would be totally spotless, so that my normal routine was not interrupted. Chris and his crew did EVERYTHING that needed to be done, from gutting the basement to installing new insulation, sheetrock, flooring, windows, doors and remodeling an old bathroom into a beautiful new, modern one. He redid the closets, build an access door to a storage area under the steps, and even built a dehumidifier into the wall so it didn't take up extra space. He worked within my budget, and measured everything to perfection. In addition to doing excellent carpentry and trim work, Chris has an uncanny eye for creating beautiful bathrooms and tile work. He is creative and forward-thinking, and thinks of things that other contractors never think of. He gently recommended new products and styles, and worked with me until I was satisfied. There was never an uneven tile or corner or molding. Everything was just perfect! Chris started the job when he said he would, and the job was finished within the time frame we agreed upon. I am extremely pleased with his work, and highly recommend Chris and Complete Carpentry.

    Paramount Remodeling
Doug and Matt at Paramount Remodeling are crooks. My husband and I recently purchased a house they remodeled and the list of things that were done wrong could wrap around the earth twice over! We should have run the minute we put in an offer on the house. Unfortunately we didnt and since that time we have been forced to spend thousands of dollars fixing their F*@k ups! This list includes: tubs that have been pitched the wrong way, windows that were not installed properly, a central AC/Heating system that we will need to replaced due to it being installed improperly and lack of returns (not to mention we moved into the house on a 90 degree day to find they had driven a nail through the power line to the AC, the heat did not work come november and has broken twice more since then) , the counter tops were installed incorrectly and were coming away from the wall within 5 months of moving in, they buried the waste trap under concrete (luckily we caught this prior to buying and forced them to dig it back up), the list truly goes on and on and EVERY **** DAY we are uncovering more and more issues! Doug is an arrogant and obnoxious individual who is impossible to speak with. Matt is nice enough but entirely clueless. BEWARE

    Fielack Electric Corp
Fielack was wonderful. The day before someone from the office called to confirm the appointment. Before the electricians arrived, they called to let me know that they were on their way. Mike and his assistant arrived. They were very polite, courteous and respectful of your home. Mike explained what he was going to do and along the way he wanted to make sure that what he was suggesting would be fine with me. It was nice that he was asking for my input. They covered my furniture and floor so it would not be a mess. I  had asked Mike to look at one of the lighting in my hallway. Mike said he take a look at it after they were finished with the job. He did look at it and fixed it and Fielack did not charge me for it which was very nice of them. They made sure my house was clean when they left. I now have beautiful lighting in my living room.

    Complete Carpentry
We called Chris upon recommendation of two friends after seeing the work he did their house to consider redoing our basement.
We were unsure on how to redesign it and to make best use of the space. We made an appointment with him and Chris showed up on time, and we went downstairs to look at the space.
Chris walked around and took some notes and pointed things out to us during his walkthrough. He reviewed the space and recommended that we fully gut the basement from scratch, as there were too many problems to take any shortcuts.
Chris removed all of the sheetrock, and the drop ceiling. He installed new insulation and filled in any cracks in the foundation that he had found. He replaced the sheetrock and created a new sheetrock ceiling, with new highhat lighting. He replaced two windows, and added a new backdoor w/blinds. He redid all of the plumbing, removing excess heating pipes that were no longer needed, and installed new baseboard heating. He built us a new walk-in closet with large wall-to-wall shelving. He created a new boiler room and installed our dehumidifier to automatically drain. He built us a new laundry room, added a slop sink, and installed the appliances we bought with new plumbing for the washer and venting for dryer. He created a new 1/2 bath, with all new plumbing and exhaust fan. He boxed in all of the weight baring poles, electric closet and other exposed pipes where applicable. He did all of the electric work, including running new hookups for the bathroom, lighting, numerous new outlets, switchplates and entertainment center. He redid and ran all of cable wiring and hung, setup the new TV/sound system. He added all new moldings, and installed the bannister rail and post on the stairs. He installed external security lighting.
We are now enjoying watching the big-screen TV in my new finished basement. We love the new bathroom, laundry room and closets.
Chris is trustworthy and delivers on his committments.
Looking forward to working with him again when we are ready to redo our kitchen in few years.
I would highly recommend Chris without any reservations.

    Mr. Handyman of Nassau County
Went very well. Repairs were done well and professionally. Considering the level of damage from fallen trees they did an excellent job restoring the railing back to its original condition. Very satisfied with the work. Not the lowest cost, but worth it!

    BQ Electric Inc
Brian and his crew spent 3 days at our new home updating and changing out various components of the electrical system. They were punctual every morning, calling before they arrived. They worked hard every day to complete the job on this old house. The electrical in this home was not updated at all so it was a big job to say the least. Brian's team figured everything out for us and fixed up all of our electrical issues. They were clean and never did anything without asking what I thought. They wanted to do it right the first time and did not make assumptions about what we wanted. I was overall highly pleased with the work of Brian's team and would recommend them to anyone. I have already talked with Brian about coming in for another small job that we didn't realize we needed until after we moved in.
