  • My brick house, chimney, and bluestone walkway was in a state of disrepair as the mortar was falling apart.  Bricks were loose and I was afraid of further damage.  I found Ageless Chimney on Angie's list, gave them a call and spoke with a pleasant woman named Cheryl, set up an appointment, and met up with Christian who gave me an estimate of 3 days work at a fair price.  They were courteous, thorough, and answered all my questions.

They were diligent when work started, acted professionally and friendly throughout, and generally did impeccable job on the repair.  In the course of the job, they found that one of my walls was in danger of falling down, and rebuilt that wall (at added cost, which is fine as I do not  expect free labor), and afterwards, the wall looked amazing.  Exceptional service, professional, and high quality work.

  • Pete is a consummate professional.  He worked with his two workers.  He & his workers came back the second day to see if everything was good & they spread sand on the walkway and patio.  They are coming back the third day.  I would say the first day was at least 8 hours.  The secod day  they were here 1& 1/2 hours.  The third day 1 & 1/2 hours.  Pete did underestimate the job but he stayed with the quoted pricel   The only complaint that I have is he should have someone answering the telephone.  He is a little difficult to get ahold of.  You have to currently be persistent.
He is the most reasonable quote I received.  Quality is in Smithtown and uses outside contractors and they quoted $2750 just for the walkway.  Michael Jacobe of Plainview just for the walkway was charging I belieive $1500.  We were put on a list for possibly some time in September.

  • In June 2014 they installed a beautiful paver patio in my backyard with a wrap around to and beyond the frontyard gate, repaired multiple dips/cracks in my sidewalk and filled in a small garden area with matching paver brick.  I called in mid April 2015 to explain that there's a white/chalky substance on a section of the bricks which I thought might disappear in time.  Mr Pitti said they would come by and eliminate it.  I am patiently awaiting their arrival.  I understand this is a busy time of year, but it is now 2 months since my call.

  • Although initial contact was difficult (business mailbox full and no other phone # listed), I left a request to be contacted on his website.  Once I got in touch with Dan, everything was fairly straight forward.  He was very up front about his pricing ($11.50 /sq ft for the pavers i chose) and had a big portfolio book and references readily available.  Although not the cheapest I saw, he was the most thorough and I was confident the job would get done just as he promised.
His crews were professional and completed the work on schedule, on budget, and the final results was just as promised.
The only real downside is how hard it is to reach him initially, but I think that when trying to get a job done in the summer, all the good Paver/Patio people are the same.

  • I can't say enough good things about Brothers Aluminum.  Elias and his crew were great.  We had a pretty decent sized project and received quotes from several places.  Elias didn't just give us a quote.  He shared some great ideas that we ultimately incorporated into the project which we were thrilled with, such as putting in a paver patio (which we hadn't considered) instead of a deck.  The end result was a beautiful back yard and lots of space which would have been lost if we had gone with a deck.
His crew was professional and on time.  I had never done a project on this scale before but had heard some horror stories.  Brothers Aluminum dispelled any the negative contractor stereotypes.
The price they quoted is the price we paid.   I felt we were a priority 100% of the time.
At times I was probably emailing Elias 3 to 4 times a day with various questions.  I was probably not the most annoying customer he's ever had but I also wasn't the most hands off.  Nevertheless, he always responded quickly and was always helpful.  Their responsiveness was very important to us.
At the end of the day the work they did was top notch.  Our house looks amazing.  I've had strangers approach me while walking my dog just to tell how wonderful the house looks.
In the next few years we will likely redo our kitchen.  When that day comes we will definitely be calling Brothers.

  • They were great. They sent someone for a estimate and when we asked that they send him back for more details they did. The second time we signed a contract with an approximate start time and they started a week later because of weather. Anytime I called there was someone in the office and she made sure that Mario, one of the owners, returned my call promptly. The workers and the supersvisor, either Mario or Angelo his brother, were there to supervise the job. The first part of the job took two days
with a large and efficient crew. We then had to wait three weeks for everything to settle. They finished the job on July 25, 2014 with 11 men including their father Tony. The job came out great.
I recommended them to a neighbor and his driveway is already finished. I also recommended them to another neighbor.
I liked that I gave them 4 payments and only paid the final one when the entire job was complete.

  • The reason why I didn't use him was he was a little too expensive. He was very knowledgeable. He knew what he was talking about. He did everything. I didn't have to worry about my sprinkler system, he was moving the sprinklers around. Whatever had to be done, he could take care of, he was an all around. He could do everything. The pricing was very high.

  • I have never reviewed a contractor prior to this but feel compelled to highly recommend Michael Jacob Landscaping and Masonry. We have used him twice, most recently (March 2012) for new paver walkways and a paver driveway. In 2010, we hired him to install a new paver patio. His work is excellent, he shows up when promised, and he is a true gentleman. I have recommended him to numerous friends and neighbors, one of whom was also extremely satisfied with his work. I would not hesitate to hire him again. If you've ever worked with a bad contractor, Mike Jacob is the one to restore your faith in contractors!

  • Dan and his crew were great from start to finish.  When I first met Dan for the estimate, I could tell right away that he was a true professional that knows his trade.  He came prepared with samples, a binder detailing work he had done, how it was performed, proof of his credentials and multiple certifications, and a long list of previous customers, with descriptions and addresses of  the work he performed.  His estimate was in line with others I had received.  However, I was particularly glad that I contacted Dan when I discovered that he would install the concrete pavers the way they were meant to be installed, as per industry guidelines.  Prior contractors had told me they would install the pavers differently, which made sense to me at the time.  But Dan explained in technical, yet understandable terms why it needed to be done as he described.  Once I decided to go forward with the job using Perfect Pavers, Dan was helpful in guiding me on the selection of pavers and pattern.
When he arrived with his crew to do the job, they were friendly, conscientious and efficient.  The entire project took about 6 days to complete.  Dan was there every day supervising his crew.  Once the pavers were placed, several dozen flawed pavers were marked, removed and replaced with "perfect" pavers.  Similarly, if the pavers were not level or graded properly, the crew would remove a large number of the pavers, adjust the underlying sand, and reposition the pavers.  Their attention to detail was remarkable.  The framing and laying of the concrete was also expertly accomplished.  Once the job was completed, Dan and I did a walk-through, he asked me if i had any questions or concerns, and explained how to properly care for the pavers.
My wife and I were very pleased with the outcome, and would unquestionably recommend Perfect Pavers to anyone looking to have concrete pavers installed, or any other other masonry for that matter.

  • My wife and I had an appointment with Mr. Duff to come to our house and give us an estimate for a large hardscaping and landscaping job. He called approx. an hour before he was scheduled to come TO CONFIRM he would be arriving on time despite the possibility of rain. My wife, who was not feeling well, stayed up with me waiting for him to arrive. Unfortunately, and unexpectedly, we never heard from Mr. Duff again. This was a first for us. Who does that?!
