Appliance Repair reviews in Pittsford

    Pro-Tech Appliance
I called in the morning and the phone was answered by a human, not a machine. I was offered a same day appointment, morning or afternoon. Rod quickly assessed the issues and explained why there was a problem. He didn't recommend repair due to the expense vs the age of the washing machine. Aspects, pro & cons were discussed. Then he offered to look at the dryer which I knew needed to have the exhaust vent cleaned but didn't know who to call. It was taken care of quickly and professionally. I was glad that the other service I had called first had a "full mail box" and I had tried Pro-Tech.

    Brian Doehler's Appliance Svc
Brian returned our call over the weekend to let us know Mike would be out Monday morning. Mike arrived early, had the necessary part, and performed the work quickly and professionally. We were very happy with the service. This was actually our second excellent experience with this company, as Mike also did a great job fixing our refrigerator a year and a half ago!

Was told the tech would arrive between 1-4 and would call when he was enroute. I took afternoon off work and waited. At 3:20 I called again and spoke to Cory who assured me I was on the schedule and would be hearing from tech soon. Called several times after 4 but only got voicemail. No call, no show. Wish I had gone to Angies List first and read the reviews as this appears to be the norm. Lesson learned!

    Brian Doehler's Appliance Svc
My wife and I were extremely pleased with Brian's service. He promptly returned our call for service, scheduled to perform the work within a day and showed up when promised. He quickly diagnosed the problem, gave us a quote and replaced the heating element. He was also very friendly and courteous.

    Pro-Tech Appliance
Rod arrived, looked at the dishwasher and said it had a faulty control pad. We had never been satisfied with the dishwasher so when he gave us two options (repair control board $169 or replace dishwasher ($379 installed!). We opted for a new dishwasher. He got right to work on the new dishwasher, removed the existing unit and found it was never installed correctly in the first place!! (Thank you Lowes installation). End of the story, new dishwasher is quiet, running efficiently and we are very satisfied with Rod. Actually turns out he repaired a dishwasher for us over 20 years ago.

    Brian Doehler's Appliance Svc
Brian's service sent out Dave Marsh, who did an excellent job. Unfortunately, my fridge had a refrigerant leak and he was unable to repair because it would require replacement of the entire evap coil system, which is a larger job than they can handle and possibly more than the fridge is worth. Despite the situation, Dave was very helpful and the price charged was kept as reasonable as possible considering inability to repair.

    Appliance Tec
ApplianceTec was able to schedule us a day early. Our tech Steve M. called ahead and arrived on time. He covered his shoes on the porch and removed the freezer drawers in order to check on the elements in the back. I put all the freezer items in coolers because I wasn't sure how long the repair would take and wanted to make it easier for him to reinstall the drawer.

Within an hour Steve had the inside of the freezer clean and reassembled. He reinstalled the freezer pull out drawer and even reattached the very bottom grille which popped out when we cleaned and we never could get it to stay attached. He apologized for not putting the frozen food back into the drawers because he didn't know where we wanted things, which was fine with us since we used this opportunity to throw some things out.

The refrigerator is working great now. We know it was fixed as quickly as possible and we know it was repaired correctly. This same tech also repaired our GE dishwasher a year or so ago. We keep ApplianceTec's number handy because we like the service. We understand the cost of parts and labor and wish it was lower, but we know these systems require parts that are sometimes pricey. The cost of labor is what it is. We would rather pay the rate required for the best service instead of trying to cut corners and end up with botched repairs that require additional trips. We know we can trust Steve's work and his company.

    Brian Doehler's Appliance Svc
I called Brian on the 24th of May and he called me back on the 25th. He had one of his staff at my house on the 26th. Ultimately, the repairman could not find anything wrong with my washing machine. When the large majority of repairmen would've "invented" an issue so they could bill for a service visit, Brian and his staff did not. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to meet and deal with honest people in today's world. Thank you, Brian and your staff for that honesty and integrity in business. You will absolutely be the first person I call for an appliance repair and I will be sure to tell all my friends and family about you. Thank you again for being awesome!

    Appliance Tec
Less than a month ago we had Appliance Tec replace a defective float valve in our GE dishwasher. Took some effort to find the part, but they did and they replaced it. While inspecting the machine the tech person noticed that the connection to the dishwasher had leaked in the past, but after replacing the float valve there was no leaking, so to help me save money he just replaced the supply line.
Well after a couple of weeks we noticed that the connection was leaking. I made another appointment and explained the problem. I was wondering if we would be charged for the service call, since it could be argued that the leak was really a new problem. I was prepared to argue that I would rather have fixed it by replacing the old connection. So a little bit frustrated.
After the tech replaced the connector, I asked him, ' I expected to pay for the part, but do I owe you for a service call as well? ' "No, just the part. I explained it all to my supervisor." said the tech. Wow, I really did not expect that. I had to argue with a plumber in the past about paying him just to look at a problem and then again when he fixed it, so to actually back up their work instead of making me pay for a new repair, is very impressive. Hats off to Appliance Tec. They saw the problem and fixed it instead of arguing about who had the correct point. I highly recommend their work and their service. Very happy.

    A-Nick's Refrigeration Service
The providers showed up when promised and fixed a part to my freezer.  In leaving they said I should have ice by morning. NO ice. So I called back and they agreed to return and fix the problem.  They did not return at the time promised , but did come later in the day. They fixed the problem, but now my icemaker is extremely loud as it fills--previously I could hardly tell it was working. Overall I would say that they did an ok job.  The ice maker is working.  I bought the $75 dolar coupon on angies list, but I don't really think that it saved me any money--just got me to hire this company. I might call them again, but I would be just as likely to try to find someone that might charge less and get it right the first time.
