    My husband and I have been with Internist Associates for 7 years now. We started in Manlius with Dr. Aziz who was an EXCELLENT Dr. but left the practice because she transferred to the VA hospital to spend more time with her growing kids. After that we moved to the Irving Ave office.
    My husband see's Dr. Forbes as his primary care physician and I see Dr. Zirath as my PCP as well as Dr. DiCesar for endocrinology.
    In the beginning this practice was mediocre at it's best. We got in on time, left on time. Bedside manner was also mediocre. We at least got in, got out, got the information we needed and treatment.
    Over the last 2 years however, as the business has expanded with MORE Dr.'s. The office staff at the door has been RUDE, scheduling for exams are at least 6-12 months out unless you want to see PA or Nurse for Dr. Di Cesar, and it's affected the way the Dr.'s treat their patients. Specifically Dr. Di Cesar's patients. They no longer have the time to sit with you and discuss treatment plans (though I DID find Dr. Zirath and Dr. Forbes spent time as PCP's).
    When I call to ask the nurse a question about medication or one time a timed matter concerning accidental overdose, I had to go through the girls at the front desk. I was REQUIRED to give them not only my name and DOB but to give them MY private information about what is going on instead of promptly patching me into a nurse. HIPPA comes to mind, however if you don't tell the girls in the front, they get mad and refuse to patch you into the nurse. SEVERAL times these girls have been WRONG and even the nurse said and quot;they don't now anything.and quot;
    I had a Nurse who tried to put me on a medication that could cause birth defects in an unborn fetus and she kept arguing about how it was SAFE when Dr. Di Cesar said it wasn't. So in order to prove herself right, she called the Dr. only to have to apologize
    and put me on something different. (Way to listen to the patients concern! )
    Today, after trying SEVERAL times to speak with a nurse or the Dr. on prescription matters. After waiting a half hour with phone conversations and after having not been able to see one of the Dr.'s for months. I am choosing to leave the practice for another one with more patient Dr. relationship.
    I am sick of being treated for each body part! If it's endocrine, go to Di Cesar, for anything else go to PCP, etc. I'm also appalled at how my husband was treated by HIS Dr. He had a condition which caused fainting spells. We found out it was a family history of cardiac issues...high BP and cholesterol. My husband wasn't obese by any means. Did he need to lose a few pounds? Yes! However, everytime my husband went for an appointment he was degraded and told to lose weight. Didn't he want to be there for his wife and baby??
    As a cardiac nurse himself, my husband studied different methods to TREAT the problem. He read Dr. Esselstyns Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease.and quot; Through a plant based only diet, my husband lost 50 lbs and is now off all his meds with no more fainting spells. My husband went into the office and the Dr. told him if more people did what my husband did, he'd be out of a job. I found that nice that he acknowledged the hard work my husband did however all those times he degraded my husband....why isn't HE setting an example with his own weight?! Right now my husband is losing MORE weight and has lost muscle. He's getting too thin. I'm concerned but because of the asinine treatment he got from his Dr. and knowing as a child my husband WAS obese but lost it in his teens, my husband now doesn't see that he's not taking in enough in order to maintain because of his fast paced schedule. I'm irritated by the lack of personal Dr./patient repor that practices like this have on their patients because they have become too big for their britches.
    We're done! On to a smaller practice that has better repor. Thank you Angieslist for the recommendations as we've found a new place that will work BETTER for us as a family.
    If your looking for treatment and NOT preventative, this is the practice to go to. They all treat different parts of the body and lose track of YOU as a person.
    The only one's I'd recommend in the practice are the Diabetic Educators. They know a heck of a lot more than the rest of the staff, are personable and REALLY take the time to teach you. Whether it be diet or how to use your insulin pump.

    This is an expensive place but you can ask for less expensive products and when I explain my limited income they are gracious and keep their suggestions for products limited.  I find this respectful treatment refreshing.  They are knowledgeable.  The huge selection is a wonderful resource.  The snack bar is refreshing, just wish they had more low carb offerings.  My health has improved since I started shopping there.  Syracuse is blessed to have this resource.

    It is inexpensive and it is a 24-hour gym so the doors are always open for anybody that has a membership card. The staff is very pleasant. They have almost all of the workout machines I would ever want to use.
