    DiMartino Construction & Remodeling
I am very happy with Dimartino Construction and the project they completed. The house looks terrific and we have already received numerous compliments from neighbors. The owner, John Dimartino was at our house frequently checking on the progress and the quality of work. All of his employees were very respectful and nice to work with. The guys I knew the best, Ken, Kevin, John Jr and Mike were a pleasure to talk with each day and definitely knew what they were doing. They were also accommodating to any additional requests I came up with. I would gladly have them back for future projects on my house and highly recommend them to others.

Excellent, we love the quality of the Fast work, and the ideas Matt Smith brought to the job! Matt was on time every day, work was completed as scheduled, and the job site was always cleaned each evening at the end of the work day. Everyone compliments our remodeled home! His pricing was extremely reasonable! We love everything he did!

They were knowledgable and got to the root of the problem to completely solve it unlike any of the other roofers I called.  Spent time on the phone explaining everything clearly.  Excellent work.  I definitely recommend them

    Genovese Home Improvement
We were tired of paying such high propane bills to heat our home.  To save money, we turned our thermostat way down, but were always uncomfortably chilled.  We decided to look into alternative heating such as a coal or wood pellet stove.  Our intention was to replace our decorative fireplace with either a coal stove or wood pellet stove insert.  After locating a couple local businesses that sold the model we wanted, we called around.  That's how we stumbled upon Genovese Home Improvement.  We called and spoke to Mark Genovese   We told him we wanted to schedule an in home estimate.  He worked around our schedule to accommodate us.  He arrived a little earlier than scheduled and was able to meet with my husband and I and listen to our goal of more cost effective heating.  Once we told him our goal of lowering our propane bills and getting the coal or pellet stove, he immediately and politely asked us if we knew  what owning a coal/wood pellet stove entailed.  We admitted that we were sold on the concept of the coal/pellet stove (cheap alternative fuel), but that was it.  He obviously could tell that we let a busy lifestyle, and proceeded to explain to us what it would be like to own one.  Mind you, we have white carpet/furniture and like to have things pretty tidy.  That's when I realized maybe it wasn't such a good idea to be dealing with coal dust or ashes.  My husband didn't like the idea of having to haul 40-50lb. bags or the frequent need to fill the stoves and clean out ashes.  Bottom line, we just didn't have the time to deal with it being a busy, over scheduled family.  Mark then introduced the idea of the ease of a high efficiency gas fireplace as supplemental heating.  The idea of a heater rated gas fireplace that would be strong enough to heat our living space downstairs while keeping our upstairs ideally cooler for sleeping.  He told us upfront that it would take a big fireplace to do the work and that it would be top of the line, but would work perfectly in our situation.   It would, in the long run, save us money by being able to turn our central heat way down by using the fireplace to heat only the area we spend the most time in instead of the whole house.  We liked that idea.  Our existing fireplace is builder grade and purely decorative.  We never felt it was any good at heating our home, but gave a nice ambiance.  We used it maybe 10 times in 8 years (just not efficient enough).  Anyway, we got the estimate for the fireplace, mulled it over for a few days and then decided to go for it.  The fireplace is the Mendota DXV45 (BTU's 7,500-45,000).  It has the capacity to be turned down way low or turned up high.  Perfect for our need to conserve if need be.  Mark told us that it would take a week to come in after he placed the order, and he was currently booked with other jobs and wouldn't be able to install it for a few weeks after that.  We were okay with that since we were already coming out of the heating season and we weren't in any hurry. About three and a half weeks later, we received a call from Mark telling us that the weather was perfect for the job and if we were available he could start the job the next day.  We agreed and Mark and Lou were here the next morning at 9:30 right on time.  Mark reminded us that this was to be a 3 day job.  After scoping out the situation and consulting with his coworker, Lou they got started.  Mark smiled reassuringly and said, "We're going to keep this place as clean as we can for you."  He knew that we liked things tidy. For the next 3 days, Lou and Mark (another Mark) showed up exactly when they said they would, worked hard, were courteous, and respectfully answered any questions I had.  I felt comfortable having them work while I ran short errands.  They were very professional and thorough, and ensured that everything was done in accordance with building code.  I couldn't believe how they removed the fireplace from the OUTSIDE of the house through the wall, but they did.  They also preserved the existing mantle.  The end result from the outside of the house looked untouched as if they never disturbed anything.  The end result of the fireplace with new tiling is BEAUTIFUL!  We are extremely pleased with the result.  We used it that night and were toasty warm.  This fireplace pumps out way more heat than our previous one.  Our goal of lowering our propane bill while increasing efficiency AND keeping comfortably warm will finally be reached.  YAY!

They did a great job and it looks fantastic.  It took 2 weeks and the main worker put in very long days.  They do not do painting though, so I had to contract that out.  The only problem was that we had very little notice of when they were starting, so we did not have a chance to do the electrical work we wanted to do first.

    Petra Builders
I've had Petra do work for me before and have always been very satisfied. I've also seen other work they've done and it's always impressive. Kurt, the business owner, is a perfectionist so the finished product is first class. For the amount of work and product involved on this project I was extremely pleased with the pricing. The windows are vinyl clad wood Anderson, not plastic. I had tow very dark rooms and Kurt suggested the light tubes that I was not aware of. They totally changed the rooms.

Renewal by Andersen of Central NY
!. Shower: The shower in the guest bath was 60 yrs old and leaking. The control mechanism was broken, walls stained and mold in the caulk. Since the drain was off-center, my options were replacing the tile or having a custom fitted unit put in. I opted for the latter, as I believe it is easier to clean and maintain. Bill arrived as scheduled and worked efficiently. He was professional and I had no problem being in and out while he worked. The shower was completed in one day. Bill came back after I'd used the shower and replaced the plastic shield on the bottom of the door, as water got out when I took a "test" shower. Now all is well. No space was lost with this unit. It is tightly sealed. The control mechanisms are high quality and attractive. It is super easy to clean and the major advantage is Solvay Glass' LIFETIME WARRANTY. They will be here if I need them, even to recaulk if necessary! 2. Sunroom: Solvay Glass uses a pre-fab system that comes with a lifetime transferrable Factory Warranty. Gerry and John were the technicians who installed the unit and I could not have asked for more courteous and professional workers. First, they had to dismantle the existing room. They took it down to the studs and about a foot or so from the eaves . Then they replaced it with the new unit, measuring and cutting for the custom fit (the individual panels were built to specs). All went without a hitch, except the door, for which I take half of the responsibility: Gerry and I had talked about which way it should be put it and when he installed it, neither of us noticed it was put in backwards. I noticed it when they were leaving. I thought I could live with it, but it did not work with the room set-up. I called Lisa (Stratton, my "go to" at SG) and the door was replaced within a week. No questions, no hassle. The customer HAS to be happy with the finished product at Solvay Glass. Which brings me to one last thing about the Sun room: as installed, it is a three season room. I though I had made it clear with Jim, the sales man, that I wanted a four season room. Perhaps, in an effort to keep me within budget, I was given the 3 season unit. Because it is all single pane glass and aluminum, there is no way I can use it through the winter without "heating the outside". Lisa and I worked on it and the windows are being upgraded to double pane for a very reasonable price! I love this room!. With nothing in it, it looked like a sterile box, but with a carpet and some furniture, it is attractive and comfortable. It truly brings the outside in. 3. Windows. I had Anderson Replacement windows put in throughout the house, replacing the original, single pane, 60 year old windows. Best investment I've made in this house. Again, prompt, professional and courteous service and a responsive company. I would recommend Solvay Glass with NO hesitation and would absolutely use them again, if I had anything left to do!
