    Graves Bros Home Improvement Co
Our job went extremely well. We were very happy with both the process and the results. Mr Graves came by every evening and inspected the work that had been done that day and discussed any concerns we had. Small changes were made along the way. The results were beautiful.

Chris painted the house and it was a poor job. He had every excuse in the book where he did not return to fix the paint job. He splashed paint all over bricks and concrete patio. I have a small claim court case against him but he does not settle in one address to serve him.

    Laird Exteriors and Remodeling LLC
Matt was very professional and did EXCELLENT work. My wife and I had a window in our kitchen replaced with a door so that we could access our patio via the kitchen (Pace installed the door). We hired Matt to install the 4 steps leading down from the door. He spent all day on the job and his work is flawless. The steps are made of Azek material and the railings are Trex. My ONLY complaint is that Matt originally quoted us at $500-$600 for the job and we said ok. The week of the actual job he came for a final measurement. He then quoted us "between $600-$1000". He recommended we use Trex for the railing so we could save about $100 so we said ok. He built and installed the steps and then after the job was complete sent us an invoice for $1200. He told us the materials alone cost $900. My only complaint with him is that he should have been able to give us a better more accurate estimate from the beginning. The final job was twice the original quote. Other than that he did excellent work.

Jon is a true professional and everything he does is of excellent quality and thoughtfulness.  We are delighted with the results and how quickly the job was done.  He was extremely careful with protecting our plants, house and chimney and used painting tools and techniques to best suit our needs. His price was fair as well.  When you are looking for paint or stain work it's tricky to compare quotes sometimes.  The extensive prep Jon did (the most important part of the job) is not offered by many others.

We have had them rebuild our deck, side the house, replace the roof and gutters before they did the floors.  They are trustworthy they clean up every day and when the job is done.  All the work they have done looks great and we have had no problem.  We have them scheduled to replace the tile in the foyer.

Excellent work.  My deck was in rough shape.  Its about 12 years old. We've been in the house for 3 years.  Structurally, the deck is good, but cosmetically... what a mess.  I've done decks before but I when I tried to stain this one myself, the results were terrible.  I have no idea what the previous owner put on it but I could not get any stain to stick to it.  Aaron knew exactly what to do and it came out great.  The deck looks brand new, even better than it did when we moved in.  They were reliable, called and showed up when they said that they would, and the clean up was perfect.  I highly recommend them.

    Penfield Hardware And Handyman
Contacted provider to assess repairs to patio door and deck.  Did not receive a response from this provider after two attempts.  Reviews of actual work performed are excellent  - but others with no response also.  May attempt to contact in the spring.   Would have been nice to get any response, even if unavailable / unable to perform the work.

Bob did a nice job. He came back and fixed some minor problems with the deck gate, removed all of the material from the old deck he tore down. The only very minor thing is there was some sticky stuff on the white railing and gate that he left for me to remove which I thought it should have been done, but again it was no big deal. He is a very nice guy , was on time and on budget and we would use him again. He made some good suggestions for staining the deck as well.

    Aaron Roberts Home Improvements
Aaron Roberts examined our existing deck and determined that the deck support structure was in good health.  He also determined that an extension of about four feet would be possible but would require the installation of three new support posts on concrete footings.  We considered using Trex or similar composite material for the new surface but decided against that because of cost and appearance.  Together with Aaron we came up with a plan and an estimate to tear off the old surface, rails and stairs and to extend and replace the deck parts.  As part of the process we insisted that the deck work have appropriate permits and inspections.  Aaron filed the permit request with the Town of Penfield and arranged for the necessary inspections by the Town (once for the footings and once for after the project was complete).  As this was in early March there was still some snow on the ground but Aaron and his single helper were able to proceed with the work.  The tear off and disposal of the old deck parts went quickly and the holes for the new footings were dug and inspected.  The new concrete footings were then poured.  A few days later, Aaron and his helper arrived with the new treated wood and went to work constructing the support structure for the four foot deck extension.  The new surface then went down quickly and the rails and stairs were completed.  Aaron did a beautiful job of cutting and fitting all the new wood parts.  All the edges of the rough, treated wood were rounded over or sanded so there were no sharp edges or splinters.  I was instructed to wait about six weeks or so to allow the new, damp treated wood to fully dry before finishing (I did the finishing myself).  I applied one coat of Superdeck transparent stain in Canyon Brown.  I knew that the transparent stain wouldn't hold up as long as a more opaque stain but I wanted the natural wood to show through and I didn't want a heavy buildup of coating on the new deck.  As expected, the new stain lasted two years before needing to be recoated.  I just completed the cleaning and recoating this spring with another coat of the Superdeck transparent stain.  The deck that Aaron built is holding up very well and all the parts are still very solid and there has been no warping or shifting of stairs or rails.  The deck still looks as good as the day it was completed.  A great job and at a good price.
