Electrician reviews in Peekskill

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • The work was performed well, in a reasonable amount of time. The electricians were professional, prompt and courteous. The main issue was with the communications with the office for (a) getting a price on the replacement part and ordering it, and (b) scheduling the follow-up visit to do the repair once they had the part. This took multiple calls over 3-4 weeks, along with promises of return calls when the responsible person was available, which never happened. In short, the electricians get an A grade, but the office gets a C. Finally, the actual work: 10 minutes to diagnose, plus 10 minutes to swap in the new transformer, but they charged 2 full hours of labor at nearly $250 for a $40 part.

  • Very happy with the jobs done, all the workers - carpenter, electrician, painter - did a great job, and they were also all punctual and cleaned up carefully after they were done. The boss, Angela, very pleasant to work with, very professional and responsive. Would definitely use them again.

  • Emily and Jeff at Spirelli Electric were absolutely wonderful to work with, and they both did everything they could to make sure my power got reconnected that day, even though it was a very busy day for them and scheduling was tight. I'm so happy with Spirelli's service--both customer service and technical service--and we will definitely be using them again! Thank you, Jeff and Emily!

  • The electrician showed up an hour late, and stated that he would be staying for four hours. He stated that he brought "a helper" with him. The helper, had zero electrician experience. And I mean zero. We witnessed him get non-electrical related items from the truck a half dozen times, and that was it. Other than that, he literally sat or stood and watched. He did not speak English. He could not drive to Home Depot to get parts that were needed, so I assume he could not drive. He literally just sat there. I did ask the electrician, if he could start working on a simpler electrical task, while the electrician was trying to repair something more complicated (which btw he was unable to fix), and he stated that he was not an electrician, and did not know how to do electrical work. He at that point offered to have him work doing other things such as yardwork or painting. It was ridiculous to even bring him. Clearly an unskilled low wage worker. When we questioned how he was to deliver on the promise of "eight hours of electrical work", he stated that there was no way he would ever stay for eight hours for $500. He further stated that he typically charges 125 an hour, and that Angie's list made a clerical error. He blamed the bait and switch on Angie's list. He offered to stay for five hours, but honestly he got very little accomplished. He said negative things about our home and gave us the distinct impression that a particular job absolutely could not be done (fixing a light in the front foyer) without spending thousands of dollars. Since then, we have used a different electrician, who gave us an options of how to fix it with an estimated cost of 450. There is a light in our backyard that did not work, that he spent some time on, and after he was done, stated that it would work but that we didn't have the right lightbulb. My husband ordered the lightbulb on Amazon and it arrived two days later. The light still does not work. For 500 bucks, he accomplished very little. We have decided to go with another electrician, and would never use him in the future.

  • Our technician, Darwin, was excellent. Absolutely prompt and a complete professional. I had a list of projects that needed addressing in this almost 90 year old house. Some of these things required a great problem solving skills - it's not easy in an old house with many generations of prior owners attempts at wiring. He completely exceeded my expectations - non stop hard work and a very fair price. We will absolutely use Spirelli for any future electrical needs.

  • Do not make last payment until all work done !!!!! $1300.00 worth of damage to my Brazilian cherry floors, during full kitchen reno and some tiling in living room. Contractor said he would fix. I have two piles of wood in my office that are the wrong size. Damaged wood held together by blue tape for over 2 months now during the holidays. Contractor no longer returns calls nor texts. My floor guy called me and told me contractor yelled at him that repair estimate was too high. I also came home to a kitchen blind that was ruined and would no longer open and they never even mentioned it, probably hoping I would not notice it. Meanwhile I spent over $30,000 on kitchen reno and have another $40,000 to $60,000 I wanted to do with them. I was also left with an unfinished wood ceiling border that separates kitchen space from living room. Looks awful. I have been waiting months for the repair. I will admit, i gave contractor too much time to fix due to the relationship i thought existed but that left me with damaged floors and an unfinished ceiling border and just like my friends and relatives, a bad story to tell.

  • Things went well. Very little visible sign of work done in the basement of cut outs as they used telescopic wands to run lines. I compare this to the messy electrician I used in Manhattan who used a claw hammer and made big holes every 6" for 15' when installing a new wall light fixture so Fanning electricians did a very clean professional job. My only complaint is that I had to chase Mark twice to get a proposal which was a couple of hundred dollars more than what Tyler quoted me in person (I don't believe there was any miscommunication) so I have to deduct 1/2 star for that.

  • He was very unprofessional and inappropriate in his manner. I feel he was trying to do a bait and switch on what he wanted to offer instead of what was listed. He was also speaking about Angie's List and his negative experience.
  • All work was done in a timely and professional manner. Chris, Peter, and Alexandra do an excellent job in assessing your needs, communicating options, and work to obtain all incentives and financing available for energy efficient improvements. I have noticed an immediate difference in the comfort level of my home built in 1926. I strongly recommend working with Healthy Home.

  • Hire Her is a fantastic company. The owner, Angela, is a great partner and really listens to the client. Estimates were done quickly. We were working with a FHA 203k loan for this work and that required a lot of extra inspections and paperwork, which they handled very professionally. They are not the cheapest contractors but you get what you pay for- extremely high quality work. The entire team is composed of very skilled workers, who are also very kind and thoughful people that you don't mind having in your home working. They cleaned up after themselves every day, and always showed up when they said they would. We would "hire her" again to do any work in our home.
