  • Do not use these guys.  Here was my experience:

    I called because the A/C UPSTAIRS (one of two zones) in my home was not working.  The tech comes, opens the condenser and tells me that there was a part that was overheating, and it required a booster for $400.  He temporarily got the unit working again and advised that the it may or may not go out again, and if it does it would need the booster. Fast forward 5 days, the unit failed and I called to have the booster installed.

    Here's where it gets interesting.  2 days later, UPSTAIRS not working again, so I call for the tech to come back.  Its was the UPSTAIRS of my home that was not cooling and he tells me that the unit he worked on 5 days ago, and the one in which he installed the booster was the DOWNSTAIRS condenser.  Ok,  so so far, over 2 visits,  he had not identify the problem upstairs AND added a $400 part for a functioning unit downstairs. 

    So now,  mid-way through his 3rd visit, he realizes that he's done nothing to address the problem with upstairs system,  but has in fact, added a $400 part that we did not authorize for the downstairs unit.  So he finally does some work on the handler for the upstairs system and gets it going again..  for a day.  Finally, I called another company. They replaced a part in the correct condensor, and voila.. it works! 

    Here's the funny part:  I am having the siding done on my house, so after 3 visits of incompetence, he BLAMES THE SIDING GUYS FOR STRIPPING SOME INSULATION!  Yes,  they tried to blame the siding guy.  I confronted the siding guys about this, ad he found it as laughable as I do. 

    Now, I've dealt with bad contractors before, but the most disappointing part of this company was the owner himself.  I confronted him with my concerns, and instead of dealing with the problem, he had the following to say:  "I got a discount on the part that I did not deserve" ;  "I should look in the penny saver to find a company'd probably do better there "; "I should find another siding guy b/c this one doesn't know what he's doing"  And on and on.. just as unprofessional as can be.  He was right about one thing.. I should have looked in the penny saver, because just about any other company would have done a better job. 

    To be fair, he did refund the money for the part that they put in unnecessarily .  Otherwise, it would be a F on all fronts

  • It took awhile to get this work achieved, but it was not Tim's problem. The delay was on my end trying to research this rather expensive part that needed to be replaced. After doing extensive research, the item that Tim originally recommended was an excellent choice. We have dealt with numerous plumbing companies in the North Shore area - they are excellent. You can rely on his recommendations. His price is fair and the installer provided did an excellent job, he was neat, arrived on time, and performed his work in a timely fashion. We did encounter one problem with one of the eight zones in a few days, but when contacted - the same
    installer returned that very day. He had to purge that area a little more, not a big problem, but it had to be achieved as soon as possible. We will never use another plumber in this area other that O'Keefe. You get what you pay for with this company.

  • We have known them for 20 years they did an excellent job as usual. They have been servicing me on and off because I sold the house so we had to double check everything. Any little shortcomings they gave us the projections, we agreed so it is all working fine. They do an outstanding job. I continue to use them because I am satisfied and happy. It cost $8,900 to change the compressor.

  • I have to follow up on my earlier review and the companies deceitful response, especially following corrective work that had to be undertaken by another firm on the fouled up boiler installation and repair work done by Airteck.  
    First the companies response to my poor review of him.  Nick asks why I didn't write a bad review earlier and it's because we could not find another service company that could work on this unit and were thus beholden to him.  That is indicated in my original review which includes how Nick used that fact to his advantage.  He also lies about the gas smell and the reason he came back 3 times.  First  time he returned was to fix the problem he could not fix upon his initial visit because he was busy replacing parts that didn't need replacing.  He only came back to find the gas smell once and couldn't find it because he forgot his leak detection equipment on the last job.  Imagine my astonishment when he cold not find the leak he created, then told me he wouldn't charge me as long as I gave him a favorable review and that I was lucky he was doing me such a 'solid'!
    He also lies about my treatment of him.  He's a Vietnam vet literally 3 times my size; do you think I would curse at him and be aggressive?  I was quite clear on the fact that I would not play along with his extortion game and that he didn't like.  
    No need to call National grid over the leak now as a new company fixed the problem along with numerous other installation errors made by Nick and Airteck.   One problem fixed was the small air inlet I mentioned in my first review.  This caused an internal part to deteriorate as a result.  The boiler manufacturer says that part usually doesn't deteriorate unless the inlet is obstructed or too small. This cost a lot of money to rectify and should have been done correctly upon installation if Nick hadn't cut corners and listened to the manufacturer instead of boasting how he was such a master plumber.
    Nick claims he has to 'deal' with clients like me.  I am a professional project manager dealing with a myriad of different commercial trades day in and day out.  Nick is anything but professional.  He is a good salesman, very intimidating and insistent on him being right and you being wrong.  Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this company and Nick.

  • E Scheblein Plumbing & Heating is the company that my Co-Op uses when they need to use a plumber, this is why I used them.  I was expecting a reasonable price on installation of my faucet and connecting my sink.  Something like a "Good Customer" price.  The next time I need a plumber I will look for another plumber.
    Having said that.  The quality of the workmanship was excellent.

  • O'Keefe Plumbing and Heating was very knowledgeable of my existing system and had good ideas towards replacement options. Work was as scheduled, prompt, neat and installation was clean. They took a piping system that was literally a mess of disorganized piping that had add-ons through decades of additions....ripped it all out and replaced with new - tight and straight. Very efficient crew - took 1 day to rip out the old and install new. Up and running the second day.

  • Company was prompt and responsive. The gentleman who inspected my AC unit was curteous, cleanly (wore booties) and professional. They suggested I may have a leak although they could find no active water issue and suggested we replace the unit as they felt it was dated. Also suggested that we fill the free on level as it was quite low. The only 2 issues I had was during the inspection our very old thermostat went on the fritz, the gentleman offered to replace it and install a new one he had in the trunk for 400 dollars (which I felt was an astronomical mark up for a 50 dollar thermostat). Additionally, I was surprised that in order to have a cleaning or any repairs done you need to pay for an inspection first.

  • I placed a call on Christmas morning and left a message. They returned my call almost exactly 24 hours later and were able to come out just 20 minutes after we spoke. The technician was courteous, helpful and very patient with all my questions. He spent more than the one hour he billed for and stayed to make sure the replacement aquastat he installed worked properly. He explained what the problem was and what I could do in the future to service it (bleeding the unit). They billed promptly in the mail and I happily paid. My heating system works beautifully and I would call them again in a moment.
