Electrician reviews in Oyster Bay

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I was highly satisfied with my experience using Floria Electric. Pat diagnosed the problem immediately, fully explained all my options for repair, and was very transparent with pricing. The job ended up being more complicated than I initially anticipated, but Pat was always accessible and responded to my questions quickly and efficiently. I will certainly use Floria Electric again and recommend them to others.

  • Pat and James are great people, pleasant and efficient! Best price out of three estimates but also a very thorough estimate of things others had missed and would have added even more to their costs. Job was done quickly, works beautifully, looks great and functions quietly. Glad I chose the brand he recommended. Took care of other little things at no cost. Will definitely use again!

  • Dennis is amazing! I have known him for over 10 years, and he is my "go to" guy for every project. He does beautiful molding, painting, tiling, every kind of work that you can think of. He's even worked on our roof and the staining on our house. I can't put words to how many skills he has. I trust him in my house and leave him alone for hours. He is kind and caring and always starts when he says he will. He is part of my family. If you find him, you are blessed. Look no more! Juliette Berkowitz Laurel Hollow

  • Pat and his crew (Bobby) are the best in the business!  After having many different contractors in and out of our home for serval years (99% of them shady and dishonest) , I hands down would recommend Able Construction.  More than Pat's ability to get the job done, is his honestly and integrity. Pat and his team are efficient, diligent and hardworking.  There was no hidden cost and any problem that came up, Pat had a solution for before he even contacted us.  The professionalism was also shown by the men you employ to do the plumbing, tile and electrical work.   The tile work was done with great attention to detail.  I also must give Anthony, the electrician, a huge thank you for coming after 5 on a Friday to hook up the stove and microwave so I could have working appliances for the weekend.  The vendors Pat works with for materials such as tiles and counter tops also were a pleasure to work with.  Pat also gave great advise on some of the design elements.  And lastly, Pat did a fantastic job on designing and building the mantel for the living room.  His skills go beyond installing cabinets.  He is also a very talented at woodwork.
Thank you and your team for doing such a wonderful work on our home! We are very happy with the finished work and would highly recommend Able Construction to family and friends.

  • I bought the service through Angie's list, it was $150 to do a whole house inspection.  I was getting 2 other quotes for work we wanted done and there was no cost, but I was hoping that paying for the service would provide a high level of thoroughness and uncover issues we were not aware of.

We scheduled the inspection easily and they showed up at the designated time.  My wife talked to them about the things we wanted a quote for so we were expecting two deliverables: the inspection report, and a quote.

We determined that even if their quote was higher than the others, we could at least use the inspection report to inform whoever we hired of potential issues.

They delivered a report via email as a .pdf.  It is in a language we don't recognize, here are the first couple of lines:

Ut eu tortor nulla, at vehicula neque. Sed ut lectus leo, quis lobortis felis. Suspendisse porta magna urna, adapibus augue. Donec lacus odio, ornare et scelerisque vel, venenatis in purus. Cras ac pretium mi. In fringilla, turpis ac rhoncus porta, nisi elit lobortis nisl,

I thought this was a simple mistake, so we emailed them back and asked that they provide the report in English.  After a couple of days we emailed them again.  We received a quote from them, in English, but they never sent the original report in English.  I sent them one last notice telling them that the report is useless as it is and if they didn't provide the report, I was going to give them an F.  They still haven't provided the report.  So they have stolen $150 from me, with no explanation.

We tried to use google translate and it appears to be some sort of Latin, but the translation isn't any good.  No idea what they are thinking as this is an easy fix, send me a report in ENGLISH.

  • BQ Foreman Bill and his team of three electricians (Jaime, Adam & Christopher) worked non-stop 15 hours straight to complete the described work, overcoming numerous unexpected obstacles in my newly acquired 50 year old house, identified and resolved several code issues along the way with efficiency, professional aplomb and an outstanding attitude. They arrived ahead of schedule and cleaned up every work space in spite of the long difficult day. I am a career professional electrical engineer and recommend the BQ team without reservation. Brian Quinn, the owner was very competitive in his pricing, flexible and unequivocally delivered all that was promised.

  • I liked the service I was provided and I highly recommend BQ Electric.
    The Electricians arrived on time.
The price I was quoted was the price I paid, no nonsense.
The weather was awful (completed the job during the same storm they shutdown the subways in NYC) and they still showed up on time and they were very professional.
The electric works great and my panel looks like artwork.
When I got my estimate from them they were straight forward and took time to explain things.
I only wish every service I dealt with was as straight forward and simple as it was with BQ Electric.
You get what you pay for and they show up on time.

  • This is my first use of Angie's list in the greater Cleveland area.  I called the provided number and the owner himself answered and said he was in the area and would stop by prior to the close of business, 1/2 an hour later Charlie pulls up to my location.  Charlie was extremely friendly and professional and better yet, didn't try to upsell me.........being from NY, this has almost come to be commonplace.  Once the problem was identified, he said he would be back shortly, good to his word he returned with one of his workers and quickly set to work, a short time later the job was finished.  The whole experience was outstanding, and I would use Charlie and his guys again without hesitation.

  • Two men showed up on time and when they looked at what I had in mind (an outside outlet that wasn't working) they told me that the necessary work would take hours so we agreed on the minor projects. They finished the work, charged me 17.00 extra for misc hardware, and left.

  • Mr. Ilberg was punctual and his crew was knowledgeable. Their price was fair. As far as professionalism, the following actions lowered my opinion of their organization: Radio left on for Spanish speaking worker outside home, ate lunch in our kitchen, used our bathroom, and when a problem was discovered on first floor of home (in kitchen, minutes after they left), to their credit, they returned immediately, BUT proceeded to do the repairs without advising us what it would cost. When I asked him, after replacing the outlet, what it cost, he said just, "I'll bill you." Part of me was thinking, since he is elderly, that perhaps this was some sort of old school language indicating, "Don't worry about it, kiddo," but I was prepared to be billed. Sure enough the bill arrived a few days later. To be fair, his price was reasonable for the time spent and part replaced (not great, but a fair price). However, it's unprofessional to do business in this way. If we're going to conduct business formally, then give all prices (or at least an estimate) up front, and do NOT eat at my kitchen table and poop in my bathroom. If we're all buddy buddy, then share my table and poop all you will, but how dare you nickel and dime me (an extra $100 on a $2100 bill is not a big deal) for a quick fix.
