Quoted $175 for to repair light and $320 for open. Was to fix light first then come back two weeks later for pool opening. I found his crew digging up the light and opening the pool all on the same day. The next thing I knew they told me my motor seized up (which it probably had) and that I could have a new 1hp motor installed for $850. I found the same motor on line for less than $200 and told them I'd do it myself. There is markup, which I understand, and then there is extortion. Then they hit me with the bill - over $1100 and they couldn't even finish the open "because my fence was not in place." A tree fell on my pool fence a year earlier so it was broken. However, they knew when they unilaterally decided to start opening the pool. Of course, once it was partially opened they had no choice but to return once the fence was fixed for an additional $75+. This guy has a history of understating the estimated, then overcharging for it once he is on site. I had a similar experience with him 5+ years ago when my pool turned green while on vacation with family. He charged me over $1,000 to turn the pool - I could have emptied it and refilled with a hose for less! A neighbor of mine had a similar experience. Over $1,000 as soon as he set foot on their property. The quality of work is good. I guess if you have the money to throw at this guy - and he'll be happy to let you - go ahead and hire him. As for me, he'll never set foot on my property again.

    Majestic Pools & Spas
Waited until 11a and heard nothing from Majestic so I called the store. The lady that answered was incredibly rude and defensive. She told me that she saw the note to come in the morning, but she wasn't the one that booked the appointment. She attempted to call her crew and could not reach them. I told her we had an event at our house at 4pm and really needed to know a rough time window and her response was to chastise me that they have too many jobs to give specific times. I explained that I didn't need a specific time but they had in fact wrote down morning preference. Why bother making a note if its entirely not possible? I asked that Rick, the manager call me and when he finally did he too was defensive and acted as though we did something wrong. Instead of apologizing for the confusion he felt the need to ask me indignantly, "why would you schedule it on prom day?" Finally, sure as the sun rises every day, the contractor called us at 505p to reschedule claiming they, "drove by and saw an event and were instructed not to stop." My wife begged them to come back in 15 minutes so that we can finish pictures and that we could not reschedule. The contractor acted just as rude as the first two Majestic employees and yelled that he has 16 jobs today and could not come back. He offered some discount and I told my wife to just tell him, thanks but no thanks. I'm not begging anybody to give them my money. Bottom line - don't tell people you'll make a note of a time preference if you know **** well you can't oblige in any way shape or form. This is tantamount to "bait and switch" - you wanted the appointment so you said what you had to say to book it. Then instead of admitting their mistake they were literally condescending and belligerent. If you like being treated worse than a Jersey used car salesmen would treat you, call Majestic. They'll give you a deal you can't refuse. A high price, crappy service, and plenty of attitude.

    LEISURE CRAFT POOLS
They said what they were going to do and then the did what the said they were going to do. This seems to be a rare trait in service providers these days. Everything was exactly as promised. Their responsiveness is excellent. Their quality top notch.

    Colley's Pools & Spas
Bought a house that had an above-ground pool that hadn't been opened in a number of years. We had never owned a pool before so we called Colley's to come out and open the pool for us. There was all kinds of debris and a lot of water on the cover. The service tech did not pump off any water - just dumped it all in the pool. The water level was low, so he put the garden hose in and scooped out some of the nasty dirt and leaves and then left us with the chemicals. He claimed he only had about an hour to spend on each call, so I was on my own. After more than a week of running the filter and still with muddy water, we called back and asked them to clean it since they were responsible for dumping some of the debris into the pool. The customer service rep was very helpful and offered to send the crew back to finish the job. We were not home, but they showed up the next day. Again they claimed that the water level was too low, so they turned on the hose again AND LEFT with the hose in the pool and the WATER STILL RUNNING. Luckily my wife came home on her lunch break and discovered this before the pool overflowed. When we called the office to find out what happened, the customer service rep apologized and said the techs would come back that afternoon to clean up. Instead the service tech called my wife and began berating her - telling her she didn't know what she was talking about, that she was stupid and a liar. I was furious and called him back myself.  He did not apologize, but instead hung up on me. Later that day, I reached the customer service rep who again was very helpful. He tried his best to mediate the dispute and ultimately agreed to give us a full refund. His attitude was the only redeeming part of the process. The tech was completely unprofessional and his behavior was inexcusable. We would never call this company again or recommend it to anyone.

    BEAUTY POOLS INC
Their service is superior. I haven't used anybody else in so long that I don't know how their prices compare. When I started with them, there was no question that they were the best ones out there. They are not the people who installed my pool and I wish they had been. They have done an excellent job of my upkeep and they continue to.
