    Olean Appliance Repair
    Set up an appointment to check our fridge, which was leaking water. When they never showed up for the appointment, we called to find out why. They said WE had called to tell them we bought a new fridge and cancelled the appointment. We never made that call. They set up an appointment for the next day. Then they called us back and said they could come right away. Lie--after two hours of waiting around (we had plans to go out that day with visitors who came from another continent to see us) we called to find out why they hadn't come. They had no idea what we were talking about and were confused why we wanted them to come right away when we had an appointment for tomorrow. Why on earth did they call us to tell us they were coming right away? Now, after all this trouble, they tell us that they can't have an appointment with us because we're not in their area. We live a few blocks away from the location listed here. But they called us back to say that they are not coming to fix our fridge, ever, because we live out of their range. So the location listed here is a lie. Who knows where these people really are and what they actually do for a living. It's not Olean, wherever it is. Seriously, I am so upset at this company for wasting two days of our time while water pours out of our fridge and we lost precious time with our company.
    At the bottom I said I went to the provider's location. Actually, we just called them. Who knows where on earth they are actually located.

    Mr. Stager called me at 10:06 Friday morning to let me know that he was on his way and would the vehicle be a the residence.  I told him that would be fie but I had an appointment with a surgeon at 1 pm.  I did not hear from him, he never showed up, so I left for my appointment.  He then calls me irritate and raising his voice claiming that I did not have the vehicle there for him to access.  He proceeded to demand where it was so that he could inspect it.  All got from him is a business card stuck to the windshield in a snow storm.  He was rude, unprofessional, and just plain nasty.  Please insurance companies, find better investigators.  We have already suffered enough without have to deal with those who think that everyone's lives should revolve around him.

    I have five iphones with AT&T, and insurance on four of them. After almost five years, I went to file my first claim. I had no idea the deductible was $200!!!! I could upgrade to the iphone 5 for $100!!! What a racket. Add to this super long wait times and crappy customer service. Overall a very disappointing experience that cost me a lot of money.

    This company installed a furnace in the spring of 2013, later that year in the fall the furnace was not working. They showed up to fix the problem, troubleshooted it and then charged me $89.00 without advising me of the fees before doing the work. You would think that if a company installs a furnace that they would offer a certain period where they support the product. Watch this company they will pull out hidden charges like this one. On the original job they also left behind lots of garbage like pop cans, etc. in my basement.

    Horrible is the only word to describe my experience with this florist.  I have had 3 dealings with Uptown Florist and they have all been awful. I order flowers via Teleflora, who then sends the order to a local florist to fill. The first time the order was sent to Uptown it was an order for Mother's Day. The order was placed well in advance and was to be delivered the Friday before Mother's Day to the recipient's place of business. Uptown never delivered the order. I called on Monday and they delivered it later that day, after the holiday. The second order was for Christmas and was  several rose bouquets in a silver vases from the Faith Hill collection and was specifically ordered so the vases would coordinate with the rest of the Christmas décor. They arrived at the last minute in hideous red glitter vases. This last order I placed was for a bouquet called Rhapsody in Purple and was supposed to be deep purple roses and hydrangea  with hot pink roses and  white freesia in an angular couture glass vase. I spent over $100 on this order. The flowers were delivered at 6pm on a Friday, again so late that the order could not be corrected and what arrived could not have more different than my order, or quite frankly more unattractive. It was a cheap arrangement that looked like it belonged at a funeral and not as a centerpiece. It didn't have a single purple flower but rather was a mix of pink and white with 4 white roses  3 green roses, 2 pink asiatic lilies  and the rest was  pink carnations, pink alstroemeria and 3 gladolii that hadn't bloomed in a cheap standard vase. I was beyond disappointed.  I immediately called Uptown but of course they were closed. I then contacted Teleflora and they were extremely apologetic and offered to contact a different local florist and try to have the correct flowers sent.  All of this makes me wonder how often Uptown has pulled this when I order flowers to be delivered to someone else??   When you send flowers, you trust the florist will send what you pay for and you may not actually see the flowers. Both times I ordered flowers for my own home Uptown filled the order with cheap substitutes, well below the cost of the flowers I ordered. Horrible service and cheap ugly arrangements sums it up.

    I called to inquire about this minor repair.  I didn't need an estimate, just wanted him to do it. When I gave him my address, he asked if he had been there before. I told him he had given me a major roof project estimate a year or more ago. Since he was the high bidder, I immediately excluded him, but kept his business magnet on my refrigerator solely because he seemed to be a pleasant person.
    I told him not only was he not the lowest bid, but that I found out shortly afterwards that my niece's husband had done roofing in the past, and was out of work. That guy gave me a great price and did the work. I also told Matt I had kept his number and just wanted him to do the work.
    Matt's reply was that his policy is that if he ever gives someone a bid, and does not get the job, he will never bid on any project at that person's residence again. Whether that's a way to do business or not is not my issue.
    But he added, "But in this case I will make an exception." This was approximately 11:30 a.m. He said he would be over between 2 and 2:30.
    By 3 he had not shown. I called him again to ask if he had forgotten. He did not answer and I left a voice mail, asking him to let me know what was going on. After a while it dawned on me what he was doing. My assumption was that he was "getting back at me" for not giving him previous work. After 3:30 I once again had to call. Again he wouldn't answer and I left another message, asking him to call. He has never called back.
    This was an atrocious experience. His mean-spirited, vindictive and unprofessional behavior was a shock, especially to one who previously taught customer service at a local university. I will never call him again, nor recommend him to anyone.

    Meh.  Excellent beginning, lots of attention. Crew was fast with the easy stuff but details got lost in the shuffle. Very poor finishing of gutters and sealing. Problems with humidity in the house since completion. Errors in porch railings caused us to have to change our design.  It looks fine, but is not the way we wanted.

    The jobs were done in phases.  He took about a month for the roof and porch.  Re-wiring and re-plumbing the house took a little over a week.  The kitchen and bath took longer, but we weren't in the house at the time, and we told him there was no hurry.  We were pleased with every job he did, so we hired him to do more.  The work was exceptional.  Seeing the porch, people stop to ask who was our contractor.  The quality of the work sells itself to others.
