Our AC compressor stopped working this afternoon. I called Jose, who said he'd be over in one hour. He showed up perfectly on time, checked out our unit, told me that it was the capacitor, replaced it, and made sure the unit was functioning well before he left. Here's what I appreciate the most- I know little to nothing about central AC units, and our unit is 19 years old.... so Jose could have told me that the unit was dead and I probably would have believed him, but he didn't. He was honest and charged me what I believe was a fair price given the circumstances (quick service on a hot summer afternoon). Will definitely stick with him in the future when we need the AC serviced again.... or replaced in the future.

    TWIN AIR INC
From initial contact to completion and follow-up, Brian and his team were exceptional!
A prompt reply to our initial phone call was followed by a timely appointment to assess our needs.
The options were discussed in detail so we were able to make the most informed decision.
An explicit contract was provided and agreed upon and an installation date provided.
What further impressed us was the professionalism of the team. The installation was a neat, efficient and clean process.
We look forward to having Twin Air install a water heater for us this fall.

They were fine.  We've used them for years and they are quite good.  We will continue to use them.  They were on time and they do an excellent job.  They are quality house fit.  It is an outstanding and reputable company,  We have used them not a year but many years.  They are a fair service; we get a discount for being seniors.  They call before they come and they tell you who the service person is.

It went very well.  He showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently. When he checked the chimney flue, he found a squirrel's nest at the bottom  and there was $79 charge to clean it out.  That was in addition to the original $89 paid.bringing the total bill to $168.  Other than that, it was a very satisfactory experience.

    Danisi Energy Co Inc.
The primary task of an HVAC contractor is to determine the correct size of the systems components: A/C tons cooling capacity, Boiler BTU output, and blower CFM, and ductwork size.  The discussions of the install job was very professional. I have a modest ~2,200 sq ft home and  I asked if it was possible to do multiple zones, being that two of the zones would be <300 sq ft.  They said no problem, the variable speed blower would handle it fine. They said they do the many tests (Manual J, D, S etc...) needed to size the system perfectly.   I also indicated that I do not want blowing air noises from ductwork, I wanted quiet operation.  And, wanted plenty of hot water as we have 2 baths that are used concurrently in the mornings.  And, I was willing to pay an upcharge for better efficiency, to save $$ in the long run. Danisi said they could give me this; none of this was a problem.  I hired them because everything they said sounded as if they knew how to design the system properly.  Unfortunately, it wasn't until I did much reading after my renovation was complete that I realized how little they know.  This company has no idea how to properly size a system.
I have a modest ~2,200 sq ft home with all new batt insulation, doors and windows.  They sold me a fixed output 200 MBH condensing boiler. This is WAY oversized for my home as I had read, and experienced. I had asked for a variable output boiler, they said don't waste your money. My home was divided into 4 separate thermostat controlled zones; this is when you want a variable speed boiler as there will be small area heat calls!  They said pay extra for the condensing model, that will save fuel. But, the boiler is so oversized that the return back to the boiler is way to high in temperature that no condensing occurs in the unit. 24hrs running with o/s temp ~25 avg degrees resulted in only a few tablespoons of water, which proves the unit is vastly oversized.(2 years later I switched to a variable boiler, and then got a small bucket of water each day. It was condensing!)
They sold me a 36 gal indirect water tank. I asked to upsize it as I have 2 baths & 2 teenagers. Danisi said don't waste your $, this will supply all the water you will need, even running 2 showers and a dishwasher. WRONG! In winter months water gets lukewarm if a long shower was taken first.
When they finished the job I turned on the MBR zone (which is where I had stated I wanted quiet airflow) and the room was noisy! The air out of the floor ducts was blowing my hair up as I stood over it. They cut the airflow down on the air handler control. But as I discovered the following summer the condenser would constantly freeze because of not enough airflow out of the zone (too smalll of a zone being feed by a 2sp 5 ton AC unit). I had to turn up the airflow to prevent the freezing. And the following winter the boiler developed 2 large cracks in the heat exchanger. Caused by too much output being pushed into a small zone, IDK? Utica honered the warranty and would replace it for free, but I would be foolish to put the same unit in again, so I had to pay Danisi an additional $1,200 just to upgrade to Utica's upgrade model that had variable output. They said this was just the cost difference between the models.
Run away from this company, as the owners have no idea how to size a system. They always insisted every component was sized appropriately. Unfortunately, you won't see many negative review, because most homeowners do not realize when their system is oversized. When it's 15 degrees outside on Long Island if a heating unit continually cycles on for 10 only minutes then off it's vastly too large. Danisi does not understand this.
(Also, they did not pull a permit to do my job, My builder had to stop his construction for 3 weeks until they got one, because he was then at the drywall stage.)

This was an extensive job of replacing and relocating the boiler, hot water heater, and CAC.  The workmanship and professionalism of the install crew was top notch and the equipment is functioning as it should in the new locations.  I give them high marks for being willing to take on a complex job and completing it with no issues.
