It went excellently. They came out, provided an estimate, and a general time to do the work. The work included a complete restructuring of the equipment in the basement, and an upgrade on the piping. The end result provided more space in the washroom of my basement. The work was done on time, they left the work area spotless, and even did most of the paperwork needed to claim a $400 rebate from National Fuel for the furnace upgrade. Everything has been working fine since the installation was completed last July.

I called the owner and he came out the next day to install it. He was very knowledgeable. Explained what he was doing and why. It was a simple install but I wanted a professional to handle it for me (I had already purchased the tank). While he was installing it, he noticed that the vent on my hot water heater that was installed by a big name local plumbing company was not screwed down like it is suppose to be. Explain why that was not a good thing and put the necessary screws in to fasten the vent. His charges were very reasonable. Would hire again for future plumbing problems.

Ended up having to buy a hot water heater as problem with hot water burned out the tank - they were able to work with my schedule to do the repairs within the week. Finished in a few hours and I haven't had problems since. Would definitely use them again.

I explained that on Saturday my boiler died, it was -12 degrees and I had called dozens of places for service, they not being one but admitted that I regretted it. Explained that I needed the carbon cleaned on my furnace as the ignitor cycled countless times causing the carbon build up...but that THAT was fixed. I would be interested in a quote on a new install, would commit to even paying a deposit while scheduling the install but would like my current boiler up and running and wanted to pay for a cleaning. The secretary said she'd talk to the owner since he does install quotes (above regular service).
She called back promptly but to tell me the owner said he isn't interested in installing a tankless combo unit (I would've have been open to hearing why and installing just a replacement, regular, boiler...but if he couldn't at least talk to me?!) and that the cleaning service is very dirty and he just isn't interested. Also didn't want to touch someone else's work...I argued they just replaced the part that was defective and nothing else.
OK. Thanks. I'll stay without heat and risk my pipes bursting instead of discussing other sales options.
Now I'm onto calling the next HVAC place and I'll make sure I'll tell them I'm open to anything (if they don't recommend the combo units). I JUST NEED HELP! It was -12 yesterday and I've been without heat for 2 days, explained I have a pregnant wife, 1 year old and 4 pets.
    Thanks though.

From the initial contact with Jennifer throughout the service process with Alex, the replacement of our 40 gallon tank was performed in a very pleasant and professional manner. Not being the first service call of the day, Jennifer kept us updated about the anticipated time of our plumber. He arrived right as expected and went directly to work performing the job very efficiently. We were very pleased with all aspects of this service call.

Just like one of the earlier folks, our water heater pooped out on a Friday as well.

After using Angie's List, we decided on Mr. Plumber and gave them a call.   The lady answered the phone quickly, and was as pleasant and professional as anyone could expect.  She asked if it was OK if they came on Saturday instead of Friday night.

I was agreeable to that so it was arranged.  The installer would be calling around 09:30 - 10:00 to let us know he was on the way.

Saturday morning, just as planned, we got a call at 09:30.  It was Pat who was going to be our Technician calling to let us know he would be there in 20 minutes.

The installation went flawlessly and quickly, even though Pat took the time to explain everything from what he was going to do to how to operate and set the heater.

What a pleasant experience that came out of a major annoyance!

I guess the price was a little on the high side, but then I don't have a lot of experience putting in water heaters on a Saturday, do I?

I do know that I looked on the internet for the model we put in and Mr Plumber's price for the unit itself was comparable.

Needed a hot water tank. Got 3 quotes and considered prices along with Angie's list ranking/reviews. Service was good, although it took weeks to schedule the replacement, all the while I was without hot water, going into winter. Price was in the ball park and the Tank works well. They use quality parts and did a good job, once the got here.

    Sears Appliance Repair
We were very loyal Sears customers. We purchased a hot water tank for my sister's home because of Sears reliability and the price for the tank. We were a little upset that Sears wasn't able to give an earlier delivery date than 6 days later, but decided to wait because of Sears past dependability. So we went 6 days without hot water. On the day before delivery was expected a Sears rep (calling from a Staybridge Suites?) left a message saying "Sorry for the inconvenience but Sears has no subcontractor to install the tank." No number to call to discuss was given with no other avenue for us to pursue through Sears; they simply cancelled the order for the tank (we did not). When we called the customer service number we spent more than an hour on the phone and were transferred SEVEN separate times (once disconnected) to try to find an answer as to whether they couldn't deliver on the day expected or never ever in the history of the world - and whether there was any other installer in the Buffalo NY area who we could contact to install it if we picked up the tank ourselves - reasonable questions, we thought. We could not get an answer to those questions from Taiquinn, Scott, Steve, Devante (who hung up after we asked to speak to a supervisor), Taiquinn (again), Chiristina and Steve (again). Needless to say, we gave up (which is what I think Sears guesses will happen in this situation), and went to another vendor (MJ Carney - see review) where the customer is at least acknowledged and not ignored or made to wait a week to get the truth. MJ Carney responded to us immediately, scheduled delivery and installation quickly - at a reasonable price - and was efficient, courteous and prompt. The kicker on all of this is that last week a BILL WAS RECEIVED FROM SEARS FOR THE UNDELIVERED WATER TANK THAT WAS CANCELED BY SEARS!!!!! DO NOT RELY ON SEARS TO INSTALLA HOT WATER TANK. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Stay away from Sears; We will never make any purchase from Sears ever again!

    MJ Carney Plumbing Service
After getting outrageous estimates from three other sources and a horrible experience of scheduling an install with Sears where we waited a week for service and then received a phone message from Sears canceling at the last minute, we called MJ Carney. Mike's price was reasonable, he responded to our message immediately and he scheduled install as soon as he could (within 36 hours, but earlier if we needed it). He arrived early, assessed the situation, got to work immediately (no nonsense!), was professional, courteous, left a clean work area, and answered all our questions. We are more than pleased, we are big fans and will use MJ Carney whenever we can and pass the word on to anyone who needs service. Bravo! A service provider you can trust!

    D.H. Berry, Inc
Berry was one of the two companies I called for an estimate. I chose Berry because if the Energy Star testing of the house that was part of his service. WE were impressed by the quality, his crew and their work. They were on time, on budget, not gotchas and no high pressure.
