I called that morning because my dog couldn't open her eye. They got me in right away and Dr. Jim was wonderful with her. I will only use this doctor from now on.

They are friendly and helpful. They offer call backs and follow up the animal. They also refer anything they are not able to handle. Overall, they have an A. I am also going to use them in the future.

Dr. Jim was very gentle and kind in how he evaluated our 1yr dogs hurt hind leg. He was also very good at fully explaining what he thought was wrong after they took xrays. We will be going back for surgery that will probably cost around $2000. At this point I wish I had pet insurance for this accident.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Evaluation of injury and xrays.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Have been dealing with Pinewoods for five years and haven't had any issues. It's been a very basic relationship just shots and annual exams. Just recently one of my Wheaten Terriers became very ill with a breed related disease called Protein Losing Enteropathy. This causes SEVERE diarrhea and vomiting. The dog was weak and lethargic and starting to shut down. Dr. Mike was very proactive to help and to find out which method of treatment would be best for my dog. He left for Spring Break and had Dr. Aubrey in charge and she too was excellent and very proactive. Shortly thereafter, my other Wheaten Terrier seemed to be developing the same issues. When I called to speak to someone in order to get medication for my other dog I was told that "Dr. Mike will not allow us to make any further appointments for you until he speaks to you. You had an appointment recently and didn't show and didn't call". I explained to the receptionist that I was unaware of this appointment, but it didn't seem to matter. She said Dr. Mike would return my call when he was done with his patients. This was on Friday, 4/20. Dr. Mike never called. In the meantime, my dog became more and more ill. Throughout the evening she had diarrhea over 20X and was so sick. Saturday morning I called back and said that Dr. Mike never called. I was told that he was "very busy and didn't have time to call but that she'd have him call me as soon as he got in that morning, 4/21". I told her not to bother, that I was moving my elderly parents and didn't have time for a call or office visit. I just needed medication. They filled the medication but by then, my dog had gotten sick all over the living room carpet. This could/should have been avoided. All I asked for was a return call. Once the medication was administered, my dog felt much better. Dr. Mike put his feelings before my dogs health. He was mad at me for forgetting an appointment, never bothering to see why. All in one week I found out my mother was having open heart surgery, had to move my parents, AND had my teenage daughter leave for France. I'm sorry if I neglected to remember a vet appointment; however i was also never called about it. A true caring vet would never put his/her feelings before that of the animal. My dog was suffering and he couldn't be bothered to even call me back. All the different visits ended up costing me approximately $2,000.00 IN CASH within a matter of 6 weeks. I was never late on a bill or ever didn't pay my way. When I called to have my dogs records transferred to a new vet, they didn't even ask why??? Obviously I made the right choice changing vets.
