House Painting reviews in Newburgh

  • If I could give this company 20 stars I would. Hands down they did an amazing job, My home is a 100+ year old stucco and much of the stucco was flaking. They power washed stucco a few days ago to loosen flakes then returned yesterday morning and finished painting a 2 story home (including exterior doors) by early evening, The house looks amazing. They pay attention to every detail and their cleanup in on point. Jefferson is the name of the project manager and he oversees all jobs they do. The fact they knocked it out in one day was great. I was really impressed with how they left the job site - everything returned to its original place ; porches and steps all blown clean. You will not be disappointed.

  • they were punctual and very courteous. bob is very easy to work with. the problem was the guys he had working for him were sloppy. they got paint on my brick ledges and did not put down any drop clothes.since they had to scrape off the old paint there is now paint chips on my driveway and walkways and people have walked them into my house. it is on my lawn and in my garden hopefully after the winter they will be gone. when they painted the garage door they also got paint on the concrete slab. if you do hire them make sure you monitor them

  • It went terrible, worse than anyone could even imagine.  This whole experience has been an absolute nightmare.  I hired someone to do the job so it would not be stressful.  It turned out to be more stressful than you can even imagine.  This guy, Ken Febus, basically ripped me off.  He did very little work per the contract, and he never delivered the material that I paid $1225 for.  4 weeks after we signed the contract he was supposedly shopping for these materials and on his way to my house.  Really???  Then he never showed up that day anyway, offered me a refund and is now missing in action.  More details below:
We signed a contract 6/27/15 for the following work to be done in 2 weeks. He was supposed to deliver the materials at the start of the job when I paid $1225 for the materials. To date, I have less than $100 in materials at my house.  He promised to deliver the epoxy cement for the garage floor on 7/13/15, the Monday after I reluctantly paid him an additional $500 toward labor as good will on his word because he needed money to pay his guys. He did not deliver this cement. He repeatedly told me how he would be doing certain parts of the work that day or the next.  To date, the only part of the work he has completed is cleaning my gutters. The garage walls and ceiling remain unfinished.  (He spent 10-12 days spackilng and sanding fresh sheetrock, and, painted 1 ½ walls.  Who paints ½ a wall?)  The garage floor has not been started.  The brick pointing remains unfinished.  And the pointing that was done is an absolute MESS,  The brick has not been washed. The brick sealing has not been started. The 3 ceilings to seal have not been started. The hot tub roof, other cedar shingles and deck have not been washed, the staining/sealing of these have not been started, and the re-tiling of the front porch has not been started.  In addition, he chipped and scratched the new cedar railing on my deck while he was pointing brick because he didn't even bother to cover the railing.
Everyday it was another story.  Ken repeatedly told me he would be here early and either didn?t show up or came very late in the afternoon and spent most of the time on his phone.  He repeatedly told me his guys would be coming to help him.  I have yet to see anyone at my house but him. Also, the little bit of work that was done was sloppy at best.
The kicker:ONE MONTH after we signed the 2 week contract, he told me he would give me a full refund. It has been nearly 3 weeks since he offered me my money back and I still have not received this.  It is one excuse after another.  He refuses to take my calls and occasionally sends a text that the check is in the mail.  I try to call or text to ask when he mailed it and when will I get it. He doesn't answer.  All I want is for Ken Febus to keep his word for once and refund my money as he stated he would.  Ken has left me no choice but to take action on him.
This project has turned out to be quite the ordeal and an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!  Why can't people just do as they say?
Again, all I want is what Ken promised. The contract was for materials($1225) and labor($2200), half to be paid when materials were delivered and the balance at the completion of the job. I have paid him $1225+$500(labor paid early). He promised me a full refund of my money, $1725, on 7/25/15. All I want is to get this resolved ASAP so I can pay a reputable contractor to do the work and move on.

  • When it came to painting our high-ceilinged family room and doing exterior maintenance that we hope will not have to be done again for a very long time, we decided we needed a top notch "you get what you pay for" professional, so, of course, we turned to Angie's list.  William Whamond fit the bill.  We spoke to him in January when we were making plans for the year's projects, and were delighted to find that he had a three-day slot to do the family room that same month. He and one helper did a great job, were accommodating and helpful when I briefly waffled about colors, and finished on time.  It's beautiful.  You'd never know my two walls of white, perfectly satin finished windows and doors had been heavy brown shiny wood before.
The powerwashing was scheduled for March, followed by painting in April. When weather pushed the March date, and an emergency roofing project messed up the April scheduling, William accommodated us and shifted his packed schedule around without question.  He responds unfailingly and promptly to email communication, which makes everything so easy.  When his compressor broke on the first morning of powerwashing, he apologized profusely and returned the next day to complete the job. I can only imagine how many other jobs he had to shift to do that, since he does all of his own work.  He has helpers, but doesn't contract anything out. The exterior painting, completed in May, is also perfect.  When we found rotten window surrounds, he charged me only materials and a very reasonable labor fee for the added work and made the replacements and repairs the same day. The house looks fresh, clean, and ready for a few more years of crazy weather.
When we finished, William said, "You are now my customers." I like knowing that whatever comes up, I know whom to call to get the job done right.

  • NotAbmg and its owners were very professional and showed on time. The entire project was smooth and the workers were polite. I would recommend ABMG General Contracting Corp to my friends and to others.

  • I got their name from Angie's List. They were very professional and very knowledgeable. They seemed straightforward. They even mentioned to me that siding might be a less expensive alternative, so I appreciated that.
