Scott and his crew have now installed four separate A/C-hyperheat units in my house, as well as a propane furnace. I have found his prices, service, installation, maintenance, and office staff to be nothing but exemplary in all ways. I met Scott when the furnace of the house I had just bought kicked off, in the middle of winter. I was overwhelmed with other remodeling that was already underway, a tight budget, and little time to deal with the dead furnace. Scott absolutely saved the day. He gave me smart and reasonable options and enough information and advice to enable me to make a good decision about a new furnace. He did the same when I was ready to install A/C-hyperheat units. Every time he and his crew have done work in my house, they've left the space cleaner than they found it. All of his workers are as courteous as he is. I have nothing but praise for Scott and his company and I recommend him every chance I get. He will treat you politely and fairly while he serves whatever HVAC needs you have, at terrific rates.

Our house is over 100 years old and has a stone foundation. On the uphill side of the house, water would come through the wall and run across the floor. Having worked with David Friedlander before on other work I called him up. He suggested digging out to the footings and waterproofing the outside of the foundation. When we dug out, we found that the outside of the foundation was loose and unmortared--sealing wouldn't work well. He suggested building a form around the foundation and pouring a new concrete wall around the existing foundation. It worked amazingly well. The basement is dry as a bone, and the foundation should be good for another hundred years at least! His crew is professional and hard-working. They worked through a snowstorm, and took great care of our place. Best of all, David and the rest of the business are easy to communicate with, clear on expectations and needs, transparent on costs, are able to be scheduled quickly, and work fast. They're great!

Work took a good part of the day, but went smoothly and efficiently. It was clear that they were experienced and expert at removing and replacing the pump. New tank, the large#t they could fit into my space, replaced the old one. All discarded parts were removed by them. Since replacing the pump and tank, my electric bill has dropped.

The plumber had to replace the flusher and a new bowl to match it. Cleaned up everything when he was done and placed it in the garbage. He called me if it was necessary, very attentive and caring for the 95 year old occupant.

It went great. I couldn't be happier. The quality of the work was outstanding and exceeded what I was imagining. From general discussion it was clear that they got what I was looking for, and the results were even better than I expected. The workmanship was great, and the quality of materials they chose were perfect for what I wanted. It was way quicker than I expected--the whole process from first finding them to the closeout walk-through was under a month. This was my first major renovation project, and I've always heard tales of them dragging on forever, but this was the exact opposite. They handled the permits and inspections, which was critical to me. Emily in the office kept things moving. The materials they selected were good quality--no issues there. Changes that came up throughout the project were handled quickly and didn't impact the overall timing. For example, after they'd opened up the ceiling, put in collar ties, and removed the joists, my gut was that the roof structure wasn't strong enough without the old joists. The engineer had designed it and speced it, but my gut said it needed more (I'm no engineer or builder, so it was nothing more than a feeling). After a quick discussion and consult with the engineer, they doubled up all the collar ties AND added a cable/turnbuckle across the widest span to keep the walls plumb under any conceivable load. It was done in a matter of days without impacting the schedule. We both agreed that the cable was more to help me sleep than to keep the roof on, but I really appreciated it. Minor details like updating the 3-way light switches to meet code, or installing a shutter-fan were handled well. In short, the whole renovation was smooth and fast.

The day they were scheduled to come, it rained all day. So, it was rescheduled for the next week. They arrived at the exact time they said they'd be there. Mike and his helper worked very efficiently. When they pulled the well pump and saw how clogged with mud it had been, Mike said he did not have to check the line to the house. He was sure that the water pump was the problem. They finished work outside first, as there were still threats of rain, and then came inside to replace the water tank. They laid down sheets on the floor so as not to track in mud. They worked solidly until the job was done, took all the old parts with them, and then presented me with a revised (down) bill as they had not needed to test the line connecting the well and the house.

At first it was good but job was never completed. Called Darren several times with the promise he would be here 3 weekends in a row and called.on Friday night to say he would not be here Saturday morning , last time didn't even call to say he was not able to make it. Very disappointed.

    Sloboda Brothers/ American Septic Service
The work went well and I have had no problems with my system. However, with that being said, I would not hire them again, nor would I recommend them and here is why. After doing a lot of research over the years (which I should have done before hiring them), I have come to find out that what they did for me was "overkill" (way more than my situation needed) and their prices are extremely high (compared to other local companies). I feel as though they took advantage of me and now know that they basically did. PLEASE if doing business with this company do your "due diligence" and get more than 1 estimate!!

Excellent. Brian was very responsive, had ideas and listened to help find the best solution. I hired him to install a new 50 gallon water heater, and he ended up doing that and helping me resolve an electrical issue that was not easily diagnosed. He was quick to respond, showed up on time as expected and made sure the installation was great.

    Hague Water Systems
I have had one of Mike Rivettes Hague water softeners and a reverse-osmosis filter for close to a year. I am totally satisfied. I was with Culligan for eight years, starting from when I bought the house and inherited one of their softeners. I also bought a reverse-osmosis filter from them. I went on their monthly plan and eventually found I was paying a lot of money for relatively little service without building equity for the expense, although the personnel who came to the house were all pleasant and professional. Mike was recommended by a manager at the local True Value Hardware. When I called Mike, he both asked and answered questions thoroughly. My follow-up call, perhaps a month later, convinced me to use his services. The softener settings required adjustment during the break-in period. Phone consultations were quick and expert. He made one personal visit at the time, at no charge, since he was tweaking a new system. He came to my house recently because the water had grown unexpectedly hard. He conducted routine water tests on samples I had collected over a period of days, checked the flow rate through the filter while one and then two taps were opened, and looked at basement pipes. Before long, he determined that a plumber who had recently repaired an outside faucet left a valve open. Untreated water was flowing back into lines that carried treated water. This inadvertent error was the problem and had nothing to do with the softener he sold me nor with a transient change in the mineral content from our well. The water problem is now resolved. In my opinion, Mike is a person of integrity who stands by his product and is not out to make every last penny out of every transaction. He is clearly more interested in creating a network of relationships. Through his commitment to his customers, he has certainly created a relationship with me. I do not customarily write reviews, whether at Amazon or elsewhere. In this particular instance, Ive made an exception because I believe Mike is unusual in the way he does business, unusually excellent. I recommend Mike Rivette and Hague Water Systems of Hyde Park without any reservation.
