    European Craftsman and Remodeling
Anton, the owner of European Craftsman and Remodeling, has done a lot of work for us over the past few years. He has painted and fixed the entire exterior of our home, repaired our roof, built a beautiful front patio with stonework, and also re-finished our cedar outdoor deck. This man is an absolute top-rate craftsman of the highest order. Every single job that he has done for us has been done with great care, detail, and amazing quality. All of this done with complete trust, no price increases unless there is an impending issue that comes up, and extreme reliability. We have other work that we need done, and there is absolutely nobody else that I will ever call in the Hudson Valley - Anton is our man! We have had nightmare issues in the past finding good carpenters and contractors - they are usually not reliable, do garbage or incorrect work, overcharge, etc so when we found Anton, we were amazed and are now thrilled. If you need something taken care of in your home or want to upgrade some appearance, painting, stonework, repair, decks, I give my highest recommendation to call Anton. I would rate his entire work for us at a 10/10 and A++ rating, no joke. I am simply a very happy customer. Frank

Casa Builders, Inc - Friedlander Construction
It went great. I couldn't be happier. The quality of the work was outstanding and exceeded what I was imagining. From general discussion it was clear that they got what I was looking for, and the results were even better than I expected. The workmanship was great, and the quality of materials they chose were perfect for what I wanted. It was way quicker than I expected--the whole process from first finding them to the closeout walk-through was under a month. This was my first major renovation project, and I've always heard tales of them dragging on forever, but this was the exact opposite. They handled the permits and inspections, which was critical to me. Emily in the office kept things moving. The materials they selected were good quality--no issues there. Changes that came up throughout the project were handled quickly and didn't impact the overall timing. For example, after they'd opened up the ceiling, put in collar ties, and removed the joists, my gut was that the roof structure wasn't strong enough without the old joists. The engineer had designed it and speced it, but my gut said it needed more (I'm no engineer or builder, so it was nothing more than a feeling). After a quick discussion and consult with the engineer, they doubled up all the collar ties AND added a cable/turnbuckle across the widest span to keep the walls plumb under any conceivable load. It was done in a matter of days without impacting the schedule. We both agreed that the cable was more to help me sleep than to keep the roof on, but I really appreciated it. Minor details like updating the 3-way light switches to meet code, or installing a shutter-fan were handled well. In short, the whole renovation was smooth and fast.

    We Do The Little Things
Bob handled this big job, with it's myriad of problems and different hardware and assembly pieces, with complete confidence and true craftsmanship skills. He went out of his way to the solve assembly glitches that arose with this project. I call him an "Ikea Master". It was a privilege to meet this most personable man. I recommend him highly for any job. I will use him again.

    Hardwood Floors by Fabian
After reading about Fabian Teran on Angie's List I entered our business transaction with high expectations and wondering whether he was as good as the reviews he'd received.  Well Fabian not only met my expectations, he EXCEEDED them.  First and foremost, his worksmanship was excellent, his pricing more than fair, and he clearly was motivated to please the customer.
I understand that one of contractors greatest difficulties is trying to staying on schedule when moving from one job to the next.  In this case Fabian got caught in an emergency situation which delayed our start time by 3 or 4 hours.  That said, he was courteous enough to call and assure me he would arrive at the rescheduled time [12pm], to which he was punctually, on time for.
The demolition part of any job, particularly taking up ceramic tiles, can be difficult and full of surprises.  This specific effort was complicated by a faulty, rental jack hammer which required Fabian to stop every 2-3 minutes to retighten the bolts holding the jack hammer blade in place.  Other contractors might have balked at moving forward with such an inconvenience but Fabian was patient and we got through it with minimal delay. Once Fabian got into laying down the prefinished, hardwood flooring he moved quickly and efficiently.
Be forewarned, Fabian is unlike the 'typical' contractor.  When he says it is a family business, it is literally a family endeavor.  His work crew consisted of his two sons and his lovely wife Kathy.  Watching them at work was a real pleasure.  They worked at a deliberate but steady pace and their energy was focused and positive.  When confronted with a couple of complications [eg: clearance of dishwasher w/ floor and uneven brick fireplace hearth] they problem-solved them very nicely.
Overall, Fabian and his family possessed the perfect blend of professionalism with a warmth and friendliness that one rarely sees in this line of work.  It was refreshing to have this experience with Fabian, especially after having the opposite experience last summer when my central air conditioning unit had to be replaced.  The contractor, who shall go nameless, while knowing what he was doing, had poor communication/people-skills and literally got verbally abusive with me.  So these contrasting experiences made me appreciate someone like Fabian all the more.
Finally, the entire job from start to finish took approximately a day and a half, which is exactly what Fabian said it would take....so it was a job well done and I not hesitate to use him again for another project.  I wish there was a spot I could show you photos of the finished work.  It is gorgeous!
p.s.  I would be remiss if I did not mention that my wife asked for a 'favor' unrelated to the job we contracted for.  She wanted a transition floor plate in our adjacent dining room to match the one he put down in the den/kitchen area.  He certainly could have said, NO but he graciously said YES............without any additional charge.  That counts a lot in my book.
Thank you Fabian ...to you and your lovely family.  Buenas suerte!

    Fix It For Less
Patrick is extremely well-organized, professional and meticulous. He explained everything he was going to do and really spent time with us so that we would fully understand all of the work involved. He gave us a price and said that no matter how long it took, that was the price (materials were extra, of course, but he purchased them and we reimbursed him after looking at all of the receipts). Our front foyer/hallway tile turned out beautifully, and our ceiling looks brand new. The shrubs in the front of the house are nice and neat, and our living room gets more light now that they're trimmed to where they should be. The jobs took a total of 4 days - 1 day to rip up the old hallway tile and subfloor, 1 day to put a new subfloor and lay the tile, 1/2 day to grout, and 1/2 day to trim the bushes, seal the floor and patch the ceiling. We are very satisfied with Pat's work and will definitely hire him to renovate our kitchen and install our new roof next spring!

    JP Carpentry & Handyman Services
I would highly recommend John for your home improvement and carpentry work.  He was responsive and clear in explaining what he'd do, and his estimates were very competitive.  He had a few changes of schedule, but he communicated well with us and the work was completed on time.  When he was on-site, he worked tirelessly and cleaned up very well.  The resulting quality is excellent.   Highly recommended!

    J.A.M. Construction
Despite numerous attempts to contact Justin after he failed to contact us with an estimate on the date he promised, we never heard from him again. We texted twice, called twice, and even emailed him through his website and never heard back from him again.

    J.A.M. Construction
Justin and his assistant were here on the time we were told, on the date we were told to begin our roof replacement.
I was extremely nervous because it seemed like things were going too simply, to put it simply. Everything was happening when it was expected to happen ( the crane truck with the shingles, the time it would take to tear the old shingles off, the time it would take to get the new ones on) and I was waiting, anxiously for the "bad news"
The bad news is that we don't currently have any other projects for Justin and his team to do. They were phenomenal, fast, thorough, clean, polite and affordable.
Our roof looks fantastic and we have 2 other neighbors that plan to hire Justin and his team in the next year to do their roof after they saw how easy our project was and how great it looks.

    Chris Brunao
Chris Bruno estimated the job, we paid him inful. CB said that the retrofit would take one week. During the time he was here he changed the plan we agreed upon into less work and cheaper materials for him. He is still not done after 10 weeks. We asked him not come back because of all the trouble we have had. He did not keep any deadlines he set up for himself. He used inferior materials and we had to keep track of his work in order for it to keep somewhat of a standard. He caused more damage than any repair. Watch it if you have children, his language is awful! We are very disappointed and will never use his services again. Take CAUTION with this man for even the most minor work.

    Mountainside Builders
Chris and the Mountainside team were great! They always showed up on time and met established deadlines. Chris had great input on design ideas to make our project look like it cost twice as much.
