Dr. Krauss is VERY knowledgable, no doubt, about joint replacement surgery.  He came to me through high recommendation by many people.  Therefore, although I knew I needed knee replacement, i was willing to wait six months for my consultation visit with Dr. Krauss.
My source or disappointment commenced when discontinued using the passive contaction machine on his patients - just when I was expecting to have that valuable benefit post-surgery.  I suffered with a lot of scar tissue/adhesions. That is precisely the reason why I gave a Grade B for  "overall" and "effeciveness of treatment."   it was also difficult to get any interest post surgery from anyone in Dr. Krauss's office.  They very well knew that  was in an in-patient rehab facility for three weeks post-surgery and NO ONE from his office checked to see how I was doing - until I called and complained, and then, on the day I was being discharged, someone from Dr. Krauss's office came by.  But still, I was told to make my first post-op appointment for six weeks post-surgery, at which time, I was only being seen by his Physician's Assistant - not the doctor himself.  There was a very long wait time in the doctor's office, and then, when I finally got to see the doctor himself, (5 months later) I had many questions, and he encouraged me to "make it fast' as many are waiting in the waiting room" - to which I said, "I know, doctor, I am ONE of them who has been waiting - for hours!"
I DO go to that same office for follow-up care on that knee.   However, I recently received (Dec. 2014) a letter from Dr. Krauss that unfortunately he has just been diagnosed with a cancer that his doctors feel has a very high cure rate.  It is my understanding that in the interim during his own health care, his associate, Dr. Sagal, and health team are filling in for him.

The first time I went, before my surgery, he took an x-ray. He already had the MRI information. He had a booklet that had graphics and showed me exactly what was going to happen. I had an idea what was going to happen in my back before it happened. He was thorough about what he was going to do and what I should expect. I just can't say enough good things about this man. The staff at Pro Heath is very accommodating. They make it easy on the patient. They are out of my insurance network and have been working diligently with the insurance company on getting paid. It has been an interesting journey so far. As far as Dr. Hecht is concerned, he has done everything he said he was going to do and he has been taking care of me. I have an appointment next Friday with him.

Everything was fine. Surgery was smoothly. I had to wait in his office and it was atleast two hours every visit. Thats the only bad thing about him. He is very considerate of each patient which is why the wait is long.

I have been going to him for a few years. He performed arthroscopic knee surgery for me. He is easy to work with and personable. I trust him, which is really important. I had problems with both knees. He looked at the MRI for the first one and said that I didn't need surgery and I was happy with that. The wait in his office is long.

In my experience with him he was wonderful. He did a very good job and is a nice guy.
