    Levine, Dr. Jay G.
I had sprained my ankle in March and I was still having problems with it. Before making this appt I researched Dr Levine and what I read was favorable. I called the office to inquire, explained what my problem was and was told that I would be in good hands with Dr Levine. I booked the appt. I waited almost 30 minutes in a tiny waiting room. I noticed a number of signs in the waiting room (and later, also in the patient rooms) stating something to the effect that "appointments are consultations only". I felt some trepidation but waited anyway. I was seen by a woman Dr who was not Dr Levine. When I asked for Dr Levine I was told that this was not his day to be in and that I would be seen by this Dr. The "appt" lasted less than 10 minutes. I was: - asked to stand so she could take a pencil drawing of each of my feet on ripped off paper that's used on the patient bed. She gave me the drawings and told me to make sure that I don't buy any shoes that fit inside the lines as they would be too small. - given a short refresher on bones in the foot and other pointers in common sense. - given a scrip for X-rays to be taken wherever I liked and a scrip for 2 weeks of physical therapy at any facility of my choice. - was told that if I didn't hear from her within 2 weeks of her receiving the X-rays that all was fine and that I should book another appt after 2-3 weeks of physical therapy. For what, I wonder? She examined my ankle only when I insisted. She did not seem to hear what I was saying. It was all very mechanized and impersonal. I felt that I needn't have been there for the appt as she could have done the same via phone and mail. I then understood why the "appts are for consultations only" signs were posted so often and so prominently! I must assume that they have received similar complaints in the past. It was a very disappointing experience.

I've seen him for 5 or 6 years. He is very competent and seems to know what he is doing. I have been under his care for several years. His staff is fine. They are usually punctual and there is not much of a waiting time. I intend to keep seeing him.

    Levine, Dr. Jay G.
He provided excellent quality of care and took care of the problem. He also made sure I got a good physical therapist to help me with it. He never suggests surgery right away and suggested me to go for physical therapy rather than going for a surgery which really helped. His staff is also great.
