    This company was referred to me by a friend/co-worker, and, as I am a new Angie's List member I wanted this to be my very first review because I was extremely pleased and happy with their service. The owner, David, was very professional and knowledgeable and very politely answered any questions that I had. A big plus was that they were extremely neat and ensured that they left my home just as clean when they left as when they started. Overall I was very happy with this company and I would definitely use them again, as well as recommend them highly to friends/family!!

    The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!!! I bought in to the sales pitch from Verengo Solar for a no cost Solar Panel Installation in early 2014. It took a few months to schedule the installation due to county paperwork/permits and they did tell me that in the Beginning. Someone finally called me to schedule the installation and I took the day off. On the scheduled day,No one showed up and I called them Verengo around 11am. Their customer service rep told me that I was not on their schedule for installation. I told her I have an email confirmation of my appointment and she said she will look into it and get back to me. An hour later, a gentleman called me with an apology and told me that they forgot to put me on the Calendar for installation. He offered me a $100 Gift card as compensation for me staying home from work(for no reason) and offered me an appointment for the following week.
    On the rescheduled day Verengo did show up at 7:30am and the installation crew was great at explainng everything. After looking over my property Verengo told me they have to DIG UP MY YARD to run wires from my house to the Detached garage which was 70 feet away from the Inverters. Verengo told me that they will cover all costs to repair/replace everything that they dig up and will also replace the grass in my yard. I said OK to digging up my yard and making a 70' trench to run their wires to the Garage. The installation was completed in 2 1/2 days. They told me that a City inspector has to come within a few days to inspect the wires they ran in the Trench before the trench can be covered back up. I waited 2 days and I did not receive any updates from Verengo. I called my Verengo project manager "Madeline" in CALIFORNIA and she said she will call me back and she never did. I called the next day because there was a huge trench in my yard and I have little kids so I wanted Verengo to send an inspector and cover the Trench before someone gets hurt. I called Verengo and Madeline several times and left messages but and no one called me back. I called again and Madeline told me that she would schedule inspection and would get back to me and she never did. I called my Sales Rep and he spoke to his manager(and now its week 2 after installation) and still no response from Verengo to schedule an inspection. Frustrated after 3 weeks I called the COO of Verengo and someone finally contacted me to schedule an inspection. The City Inspector came to look at the Trench(after 4 weeks) and he told us that he was contacted by Verengo just 2 days ago (This is after 4 weeks with a 70 feet long Trench in my yard near my pool with little Kids. Amazing Customer Service...NOT!!!). After the inspection was done, Verengo did nothing on their end to Contact me to cover the Trench. I called Verengo 3 times before someone was scheduled to come out and cover the Trench. For 2 Summer months, when the kids were out of school, my backyard was a Big MESS!!!!
    It is now 2 months into an Installation (that they promised would take just 3 days to complete), I still don't have my $100 Gift Card that they promised for the original no-show appointment that I mentioned in the beginning. I had to call Verengo Several times before they finally came to put down new grass and Clean up the yard. I WAS EVEN TOLD BY SEVERAL VERENGO EMPLOYEES THAT MY INSTALLATION PROJECT WAS MANAGED VERY POORLY BY THEIR COMPANY!!! Then one day I get a call from verengo stating that their Electrician needs to come out to inspect the Installation. We setup an appointment. An unfriendly Verengo Electrician showed up, Did work outside our house for a few hours and asked us if he can use the bathroom. We said OK and he did his Business in the bathroom and later when I walked in to the Bathroom, he made a mess all over the toilet and left without cleaining it (Amazing...Isn't it).
    After Several FRUSTRATING phone calls to Verengo Customer Service, I was told that they are waiting for City Inspection to be completed so my Solar system can be turned on. I waited weeks and no calls or updates from Verengo. I called the City Inspector and he told me that he did not receive any notification for an Inspection on my home from Verengo. I called Verengo and told them what I was told by the City Inspector and the person on the phone tells me that Verengo has all the Paperwork needed to turn my system on and I can go outside and turn my Solar System ON. AMAZING isn't it!!!!!! If I didnt call them, I wouldn't have known that they have all the paperwork to get my system up and running. After 4 months from installation I can finally Turn on my Solar System.
    VERENGO has the absolute worst CUSTOMER SERVICE in the Industry. They never FOLLOW UP or UPDATE you Before, During or after Installation. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VERENGO for SOLAR INSTALLATION. VERENGO has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, NEVER UPDATE YOU ON THE PROGRESS OF YOUR INSTALLATION and YOU HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK FOR THEM to GET YOUR SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING. Their CUSTOMER SERVICE and PROJECT Managers are in CALIFORNIA. They are in a Different time zone. They have no Clue about your neighborhood and local laws. Stay away from VERENGO!!!!

    We had a pretty good experience with Raffa Electrical Inc. They're very reliable. It was a last minute job. I called him and he told me what to buy. I bought it and he showed up and installed it. He stuck with the price he quoted me. I would definitely use him in the future.

    My experience with Valentine Electric was first rate.
    Paul Valentine (owner) visited my house and provided an estimate for all work that was exact to the penny. The electricians were extremely punctual, professional, polite, and fast. All work was done with the highest quality and the electricians were extremely knowledgeable and patient while answering questions. All the work took 2 separate visits to complete and each visit took less than 2 hours. This allowed the crew renovating my bathroom to begin their work on time or even a bit early.
    I cannot be happier with the work that was performed and will use Valentine for all my electrical needs in the future.

    I'm very satisfied with Westside regarding all aspects of my experience. I was able to schedule an appointment with the owner for an estimate on a day that I had already planned to be home from work. Since the jobs I had were mostly handyman type jobs, I was told I would pay an hourly rate (which I felt was reasonable). After that point, communication was primarily with his secretary to schedule an appointment for getting the work done. I appreciated being able to email questions as I'm not always able to make/return phone calls during the day. Bucky did the work, and was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, professional and very thorough. He did a great job of matching the floor moulding that was already installed in the rest of the room and even took the initiative to fix an issue with my door that was causing a significant draft in the room. He also installed a light fixture in the ceiling and addressed some minor issues with the wiring that he discovered. Finally, he cleaned up after himself to the point where it did not look like he had ever even been there! The entire job took a little longer than I had expected, but I take responsibility for not discussing the size/scope of the job with Bucky when he arrived to get his sense of how long it would take him. Also, like I said, he fixed a few other things that I was grateful to have addressed. In the future, I would probably discuss a time frame/cost upfront that I was comfortable with and then decide whether to go beyond that point. That being said...I have no regrets as the work Bucky did was topnotch and I would definitely use Westside again!

    Hurricane Sandy took down a large tree from the front of our home. It took down the power line and meter right off the wall of the house. Needless to say it was pretty scary and living without power for days was awful. However, our neighbors kept an eye on us and helped us as much as they could. I am very grateful for them.
