    First Class Formal wear
I was a very easy experience, the price was very reasonable and he even pressed it for me while I waited. I used to go to mens warehouse. what a difference in the local business vs the chain suit shop is.

    Home Pro Exteriors Inc

After an onsite review conducted by a Structural Engineer, we knew the extent of our home's issues and needed a contractor that was up for the challenge. Upon meeting Bill & Joe from Home Pro Exteriors, it was immediately evident they had a passion for their work that blew away the other contractors we were considering. Bill & Joe did a top to bottom walk through of our home, before I had even highlighted the issues they had zeroed in on them and that impressed me. They didn't miss a thing. They were very knowledgeable and accessible; they encouraged my calls & questions and I never went into voicemail. When I texted Joe, I got a response right back & photos. I was never stressed throughout the project because there was instant communication. In addition to structural improvements, interior & exterior framing, new roof & siding, we wanted some exterior modifications to add functionality & character to our home. We discussed it with Bill & Home Pro produced the drawings; again this impressed me because it was crucial we were all on the same page & it speaks to the range of their services. I was also impressed by their craftsman sensibility apparent in the proportion & symmetry of the new details in relation to the existing structure. Home Pro provided us with a contract, certificates of insurances and stayed in budget. The team arrived on time, cleaned up before they left, tarped & protected unfinished areas. They were flexible when we made changes/add-ons & when we backed off fully enclosing the porch. Even when the work was completed and I had a question/concern, Joe came out the next day and addressed it. They went above & beyond - Excellent service! We highly recommend Home Pro Exteriors & fully intend to use their services for future improvements.  A+++ for Knowledge, Communication, Flexibility, Excellent Service & Craftsmanship.

    Presti's Auction Sales
They have mystery bidders and also over price their products so that they are making a higher commission on the value of the sale. I feel as if they are dishonest with their business practices. They also are not professional when dealing with customers.

    OAKDALE COMPUTER INC
My computer wore out. H-P wouldn't look at it--even though it was only 4 years old. Doug at Oakdale Computer provided a second opinion, agreed with H-P's assessment, but was a lot nicer about it. Some of my files were not backed-up. Doug rescued everything from the old hard-drive and transferred the files to a CD. He also waitied to see how much material I had before suggesting I purchase a portable hard-drive. And, as it turned out, I didn't need to go to the expense. Unlike many computer experts, Doug doesn't assume his customers know a lot about IT. But--at the same time--he doesn't talk to you like you are some kind of idiot--if you know what I mean...!

    UHaul International Inc
Marty's? PRICE-GOUGERS!. For a July 2011 starter replacement, the OWNER initially tried to charge me $420! My regular mechanic on Long Island (I live in Monticello 60 percent of the time) told me to expect a charge of around $250. (A rebuilt starter is around $130, add the Marty's $85 hourly rate to that ...) Marty's owner tried to charge me a $50 "transport" charge for bringing a $229 new starter down from Liberty, though he already was in Liberty, which is 15 minutes away. Then he tried to charge me "overtime," which I never heard of from any mechanic. Ever. (I was towed to Marty's after 5 p.m., when his staff allegedly was off, though several of them were still there working on cars.) When I protested that I would not pay that $420, and that I would not pay cash (which was his last order, though the dispatcher had told me beforehand they accept credit cards). He shaved a few dollars off the price. But I'll never go there again. I've been told that Monticello car mechanics (and others) make their money during the summer tourist season and that, yes, their prices are higher. (My LI mechanic charges $85 an hour and that, no, mechanics do not routinely charge OT)First impressions are lasting.

    Preacherman Plumbing And Heating
"Preacherman" Frank is the one and only plumber I've used since buying this old house in 2005. Though I eventually purchased a state-of-the-art boiler, new plumbing, etc, from him, he patched up the older boiler (sometimes cleaning out build-up for free) to get me through the first couple of winters here. He always comes when I need him, whether it's a sump pump issue or whatever. He's listed as the back-up with my alarm company (as I'm in Monticello 60 percent of the time), and was making his way from his town (15 minutes away) once when I tripped my own alarm but, with an Ipod in my ear, didn't hear the phone's ring. As much as one can trust another with one's life, I trust him.

    Anthony Scicluna
He was recommended by someone who had done a good job, at a fair wage, for me earlier that year.  I had the materials onsite and was gearing up to do the job myself.  However unexpected circumstances left me short on time and unable to complete withing the timeframe needed.  With the materials onsite, I was only quoted and charged for the labor to complete the installation.  Mr. Scicluna came in at HALF of some of the other quotes I had recieved (which I had known were too high, having done this type of work before myself)  The wage was MORE than fair and the quality and speed at which he and his crew worked was exceptional.  They finished the entire job in only 2 days time.  The first day went flawlessly with one side completely finished by 4pm.  The weather forecast for day 2 way favorable so the tarp was left off of the structure (by my authority) as it was quite an undertaking to pull off and put on.  (It was a 60' x 40' tarp)  Day 2 started fine and was progressing nicely when a storm blew in from our of no where.  The weather reports never mentioned rain even after it came and went.  The crew was about halfway completed with the ice and water sheilding and had not begun securing shingles yet.  They stay up there in the pooring rain to finish applying the ice and water sheild in an effort to protect the buildings contents.  When they were finished the house was protected, but they were soaked straight through.  They headed home around lunch time with the hope that they might be able to return.  They came back around 2 pm when the weather broke (with a dry set of clothes) and stayed until light almost faded to ensure completion within the projected timeframe.  The roof made it through one of the harshest winters on record since it's install last year and not a single drop leaked through.  The Ridge vents, and shingles all layed down nicely and we were extremely satisfied with the work completed.  This is an honest to goodness diamond in the rough in the world of contractors.  Simply said, he does what he says, and stands behind his work.  I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs Roofing.  If you thought the days of being able to make a deal on a handshake and take a man at his word were over, reach out to Anthony.  He also does extentions, windows, doors, etc.....  Although I have not had direct experience with him regarding these other services.

    *****************UPDATE****************

I recently reached out to Anthony becasue since the roofing install I made some changes to the design that required some additional holes in the roof.  Since he did the install I thought who better to cut holes in it for me.  I had him cut 4 holes in the roof, 1 for a chimney, 1 for a plumbing vent, and 2 for attic fans.  I needed to get this done quickly because the roof penetrations needed to be completed and inspected prior to gaining authorization to sheetrock.  Anthony recognized the tough spot I was in and made room in his schedule to get the job done.   He told me he would be here at 7am sharp and he was.  He told me it would take half a day to complete, and it took him even less.  That night it rained like mad and  with the proper installation of the aforementioned items, not even a single drop got inside.  All this was doen on a phone call and a hand shake for a fair price.  In a few weeks he will be back to do my gutters and I will be sure to update this posting again with what I expect to be rave reviews.
