    Alure Home Improvements Inc
From the moment of our meeting, and presentation of what would go into the renovation, it was wonderful. Everything was clearly explained, and the forecast of the time that the reno would take was exactly how it went. Everyone involved on and off the job from Alure was professional, reliable, and considerate. It is extremely eveident that Alure is a company that puts the satisfaction of their client first. The results are exactly what we wanted, and we have our dream home because of Alure!

    Gotham Builders of New York
We are return customers of Gotham Builders. Our last review { you can see it posted 4/16 } was a reminder why we would never have any other contracture do our work. We had a full kitchen renovation which expanded into our dining room. In addition to cabinets, we had walls removed ,new windows ,tile floors, wood flooring appliances and painting....all completed to our satisfaction .All the staff ,from office ,to sales ,to carpenters ,to plumbers are all very professional . And ,we really appreciated the decorating ideas ! Gotham addressed any questions we had during our work simply and with no - nonsense .Again , thank you Gotham for a beautiful result --we love it.

I have nothing but good things to say about Steve and his son, who put in a new bathroom and renovated our finished basement after we had water damage from a flood. They were hard-working, courteous, and considerate, and the quality of their work was excellent. Steve helped us get exactly what we wanted while staying within our budget. He worked with us to design a handicapped bathroom for my elderly father that is both beautiful and highly functional. When my father went into the hospital, Steve and his son accommodated us by working hard to get the bathroom done before he came home, even working on the weekend. In fact, the entire job, including the bathroom and basement, was finished in a timely manner. I cannot recommend them highly enough and would work with them again without hesitation.

As like most Mr. Lee's projects, extremely well. We contracted him in Jan. and he started May 28th. His crew was there at 8 AM and didn't leave till 6 or 6:30 PM. They worked on the house and cleaned up every day. I had originally checked with with a number of vendors but he gave me the best materials and insulation for about 4 to 5 thousand dollars less than anybody else. He originally did my roof years ago and he was a recommendation from fellow workers and friends who had used him. He again gave the best materials and price at the time and he didn't fail in the quality of work  at  that time nor more recently with the siding. At the very least you have to have him bid on your roofing or siding projects.

    Power Home Remodeling
The sales rep was very informative. He showed me every aspect of the product and answered all my questions, of which I had a lot! The installers at Power are very professional. They knew what they were doing, they cleaned up after themselves and the windows look great.

    Econo-Therm Insulation Co
The whole experience went very well. I actually chose Econotherm based on the materials that they used and the professionalism of the audit staff. The Econotherm Staff showed up on time, applied all the insulation and waited for the after insulation audit in case

any leaks were found. Not only did the house show a 20% improvement, the how was 50% more air tight after their work. That means the actual savings in heating will be more then was proposed.

The clean up after the job was well done and I do not have any complaints. Everything was either as advertised or better than advertised.

I paided $55 for the Complete Attic & Wall Energy and Ventilation Inspection but they really do any "Inspection". The "Sales" person pretty much asked me what i wanted to do. Lucky i knew what areas my house had issues.  The price was reasonable so we went ahead with the install.  The install guys were good and clean.  I would just try to get the $55 as a credit next time.

We found Carmine via Angie's List.  He was one of several contractors which we contacted and interviewed for the purpose of a gut house renovation of the interior our new residence in north Nassau- a 1963 Colonial with 6 bedrooms, 2.5 baths.    One of the first things that stood out with Carmine was he spent nearly 2 hours with us at the initial meeting.   The first  hour talking to us about what we wanted to do in the house, and then another hour by himself taking measurements.  He invited us to see the home reno he was finishing in Great Neck, which we did and were impressed by, as was the owner of that home.  We had a very good feeling about Carmine right from the start.
He continued the process by having all his various subcontractors visit our house for thorough walk through to provide input into the quote he was preparing.    When we got the quote, it was detailed and thorough, covering all jobs we had laid out.   15 or so pages of detail.  Pricing was broken down by job (i.e. Plumbing $x, Electrical $y).
We had competing quotes and feedback from family in the construction industry - and based on that we felt the prices Carmine charged were reasonable and reflective of the work.  The results were always high quality and professionally executed, problems fixed promptly without any drama, all without cutting corners and going the extra mile.  To be clear- Carmine is unlikely to be your cheapest option.  But this is a classic example of  "you get what you pay for. "   Outstanding service and solid quality workmanship.
Positive end-results were also true of Carmine's sub-contractors.  They were all "pros"; licensed and insured where needed.   We used quite a few of them- HVAC, Roofer, Plumber, Insulator (spray foam), Electrician, Stair rail maker, Cabinet maker, Sheetrock / Spackle, painter, and flooring guy.  Most he'd worked with for years if not decades and he had good relationships with them to get things done quickly and to high quality standards.   And Carmine worked hand-in-hand with them to get it each job done to his standards, and problems tackled in real-time.
Carmine has his own crew of guys that cover carpentry and tile work generally, and we found their work to be meticulous and high quality.   As I mentioned, Carmine is very hands-on and consistently on the job site, leading the projects and getting his hands dirty.   Some examples- the orchestration required to maneuver and install a 25 foot-long,  12" x 8" steel I-beam in our living room ceiling.    He also worked smoothly with our architect to understand exact specifications to ensure we pass bldg dept home inspections with flying colors (which we always did, without fail).
As far as tiles, Carmine himself spent hours in our bathtub laying subway tile, meticulously aligned with laser levels.   Really outstanding attention to detail and results as you can see pictured.   He suggested using epoxy grout, which is the "best" you can do thanks to its ability to resist stain and durability, but is notoriously difficult to work with.   Throughout the project he routinely sticks his neck out like this, tells you "its what I'd do in my own house", and delivers a premium job.
Another example-  after we had tiled, we realized a medicine cabinet opening inset in the wall was set 5 inches too low.   Rather than trying to convince us to live with it,  he insisted on going ahead and fixing it (reframing and re-tiling that section) without charging us for it.  He said it wouldn't look right.  Impressive again.
In general, we can't say enough good things about Carmine.  Integrity, honesty, incredibly patient and easy to work with, and if that weren't enough he's more accessible than I can really describe.  Always returns calls, emails, texts usually within hours, day or night, even weekends.    I just cross my fingers he's available when we're ready to the outside of our house in a year or two, but I would not be surprised if we need to get in line.  He's that good.
Surviving a 9-month long gut renovation is a challenging process to say the least and having Carmine in charge has made all the difference.   He is a true gem and we consider ourselves lucky to have found him.

I spent time at my house with the salesman who wanted to put an additional 6" of insulation above the 6" I already have.  I think that is great when oil goes to 8$ a gallon. Furthermore, he said that I needed my walls filled with some shredded newspaper product and I would have to be here for half a day which his men worked on the house. I hate waiting around for guys to work in my house and will try to do only outside work so I won't have to be home. I am still waiting for someone to call me to finalize this deal! They have me handcuffed by the small print in the coupon. It says I have to do whatever they say or loose my $150.00.  Stay away from this company.

My wife wanted the basement finished for a long time but due to other priorities took a back seat. I found Andy to be fair, reasonable and honest and thank God because he is just the right kind of person we wanted to do our work. There are a gazillion people in this business and there is a difference. Andy works pretty much alone. He is detailed oriented, methodical and very, very neat. His work ethic is a lost art these days. If I hit lotto, I'd have him on staff. You won't regret any aspect of his abilities. He aims to please and give you what you want. Andy is a master craftsman and a gentleman.
