    Speedy Sub Zero Repair
If you ever need appliances services - Do Not call Speedy Appliance Service. The Speedy Appliance Service serviceman Sal was trying to rip us off. He was telling us that the refrigerator needed Freon and a special valve to install it. He didnt know the price and needs to go back to the office to order one, which he has to come back to re-service another call. We were unhappy that he didnt have the parts and couldnt fix right away, and charged us $92.44 for the service called. We feel that Speedy Appliance Service Company has a misleading advertisement saying that they carrying 99% parts and fix it on the same day. Later we called the official Whirlpool service representative and the technician came over to look at it and told us that there's nothing wrong, the evaporator was frozen over and the refrigerator sensor are good. Just need to defrost the refrigerator coil for a couple of days. The reason refrigerator was not making ice because of the same issue. There's nothing wrong with the refrigerator. What a relief. So the outcome is that the Speedy Appliance serviceman Sal, misdiagnose the problem, and trying to charge us for additional services and parts that we didnt need. Called the office representative, which was unhelpful and uncooperative with this matter. Supposedly, she said on the phone that the service charge is including on the repair cost, but when we called her back again; she said differently that the service call charge is separate from the repair cost. Therefore we feel that this company is ripping off a lot of customers with bogus service charges, and needs to be investigated by Better Business and Consumer Affairs and this company should be close up completely.

    Universe Home Services
I don't even know where to begin. I've used Universe for a few jobs over the past two years and other than the price being a little overdone, everything else went smoothly from customer contact to punctuality. I noticed that the nut from the union of two steam supply lines was leaking intermittently. I called Universe on Friday 11/9/18 at 2 p.m. and explained the situation in detail and was told someone would come Friday evening between 7 & 11 p.m. At about 930 "Tommy" came and took one look and shook his head. He informed me that he was just a HVAC guy and only dealt with boilers and that I needed a plumber. He also stated he didn't even have a wrench big enough. I thought that was completely laughable but that he needed to call his boss and remedy the situation. I stood in the room as he called Universe and I specifically heard him convey exactly what was needed to fix the problem. I was assured that the following day 11//10/18 that the plumber would come between 2 & 6 p.m. Plumber shows up close to 7 p.m. and takes one look and like his co worker starts shaking his head. He tells me that he could fix the problem but doesn't have the parts (piping). How that's even possible when the previous worker told his boss what was exactly needed is beyond me. I was apologized to by both the plumber and his supervisor. I was informed that for the considerable inconvenience I would receive a 50.00 coupon (which is nothing since I already had several 50.00 coupons from the weekly penny savers and advertisements) and that they would deduct the service charge from the total bill (110.00). I was also told by the plumber that he would be back personally on Monday 11/12/18 between 8 and 830 a.m. making us the first appointment of the day. I looked at the invoice after he'd left an noticed there was no service charge deducted from the bill. At 930 I called Universe because low and behold no one showed up. I spoke to one of the girls in the office who told me the plumbing supervisor was on another call and he would call me right back. I waited a half hour with no callback not to mention no courtesy call from the plumber to even say he was detained. My wife took over, since my sense of diplomacy went out the window. She spoke to another "Tommy" who was supposedly the plumbing supervisor. Of course we find out that the plumber was on a different job instead of mine. My wife asked for a discount on the job cost for all that we've been through. Initially, "Tommy" did not budge but said he'd call the plumber because only he knew the scope of the job. As a supervisor, I have no idea why he'd have to call a subordinate for a price reduction especially when the tentative invoice I signed on Saturday evening detailed the scope of work. "Tommy" offered my wife an additional 50.00 coupon. Forget the fact that my wife and I rarely have the same day off but this time we had a 3 day weekend which we spent waiting for workers who were inept or just didn't show. A 50.00 coupon is nothing short of an insult. Obviously I canceled the job. The level of ineptitude rivals a Three Stooges episode, not to mention just a lack of human courtesy by not even calling or making a genuine attempt to rectify the situation. You've lost a customer that has plenty of planned work ahead as I wouldn't even let you wash my windows. *****As an update I sent the invoice to a licensed plumber in NYC and he said the price was highway robbery for replacing 4 feet of piping as the invoice stated. I may not be a plumber but I can measure and it's actually 30 inches and that's being generous. BUYER BEWARE as they are out to rip you off. I wish they sent Sean out to fix this issue because he's done 3 previous labor intensive jobs and was a complete professional. In the time it took to write this review I had another company come who are working as I type. With one look he stated that the entire section of piping did not need to be replaced and his price is a fraction of what I would have been billed.

    Pete's Appliance Service
Pete returned my initial call promptly and scheduled the repairs at my convenience. Pete arrived on time, quickly diagnosed my dryer problem and replaced the damaged part with a new one that he had in stock on his truck. In addition, he repaired the agitator on my washer by installing a part that I supplied (I had been planning a "do it yourself" repair on this) - and he DID NOT CHARGE ME ANY EXTRA, since he said it was a simple fix and he was already at my house!! Seriously, who does this? I found Pete to be knowledgeable, experienced and professional in every way. I would not hesitate to recommend Pete for any and all appliance repairs. An "A" rating is not high enough - Pete deserves an A+++. Thank you, Pete!

    STEVE'S APPLIANCE REPAIR
Steve is a professional and a gentleman. He responded promptly to my call. We set up a time and he showed up on the dot. Despite my dryer being a bit inaccessible because of the space in which it is located, he managed to get to the back of it and quickly diagnose the problem. Although he had to order the part, he knew how desperate I was to get my machine working. He got the part quickly and scheduled me ASAP. What a great guy!!! I can't recommend him enough.

    Pete's Appliance Service
I called and left a message.? Pete returned my call in about 10 minutes.? He diagnosed the problem (pretty much what I suspected) told me it was a common repair for my unit, told me the cost for parts and labor, plus?he happened to be down the block from my house (what are the odds?).? He went to my house in 5 minutes and, performed the repair in less than a half hour.? He accepted my payment by credit card over the phone, which he discounted $10 because I found him on Angie's List.? Could it be better than that?? I'm still pinching myself.

    Steve's Appliance Repair

My fridge was deemed unserviceable by the warranty repairman.  However, I wanted a second opinion as the fridge was only three years old.  I called Steve.  He charged me a 50 dollar service fee.  He explained to me that to fix the fridge could be a simple replacement part or a mired of other problems.  He said he would try to replace one part and if that didn't fix the fridge then it was not worth fixing.  I paid for the part and crossed my fingers.  Steve followed up with me that evening and the next morning to check the status of the fridge but unfortunately it was still not working.  He removed the part and gave me a full refund of what I paid.

Steve is an extremely reliable and honest individual.  He was always courteous.  He was prompt as well as he was never late or

    Well Done Appliance Repair Corp
I was referred to Well-Done by a neighbor who had used the company 8 years ago (they've been in business over 30) and was pleased with the work. Tom was professional and thorough. He not only explained what was wrong and fixed, it, but he took the time to clean out the dust in the dryer and to make other suggestions to make both appliances more efficient. I was very happy with the level of service and wouldn't hesitate to use him again if needed.

    Universe Home Services

I called Universe and told them my Dishwasher is showing an error oE for my Samsung Dishwasher.   When the service representative showed up he didn't have the Level Sensor that has to be replaced for an error oE.  He said that he needed to order the part.  They knew what was wrong before they came to my house since I gave them the code over the phone. From my point of view he shouldn't have come to my house without the part.  They admitted that this part is the most common part that fails with Samsung. This level sensor part is readily available since so many Samsung dishwashers are having the same failure. Well, Universe wanted $275 to replace this part.  Since they needed to order the part I told them that I was not interested in fixing it for that price.  I first ordered a new Bosh Dishwasher with Best Buy.  But I cancelled the Bosh order when I did a little research and found out that the Samsung level sensor only costs $37 online. I ordered the part and ended up replacing the part myself.  The dishwasher is working now.  They still charged me $97.71 just to look at the same error message that I told them over the phone.  I think $275 is way over priced for a $37 part. Don't you?

Universe has called me since I posted the review and offered to refund me the $97.71 - But they never did! I have not received a refund to date.

    Pete's Appliance Service
Pete, as usual showed up within the time frame mentioned. He looked at the dishwasher, gave us some tips and suggested he adjust something first before doing anything more drastic. He made the adjustment and the dishwasher hasn't given us a minute's trouble since.
We have used him for 22 years and he is honest and trustworthy. He has recommended appliances to us and he has yet to steer us wrong. We never doubt Pete's advice.

    Pete's Appliance Service
Peter came by the day before my sons birthday and saved the party. He is honest, reliable and overall a  real professional. My cooktop stopped working on a Thursday night.  The next morning I called Peter, he picked up the phone and was at my home with in a few minutes. I was truly impressed with the quality of service he provided. I would recommend him to anyone. He is a true gem in the industry.
