    New Country Toyota of Clifton Park
    I brought my car in to have several recalls performed ��� one of which was the Rear Lower Suspension Arm. On 9/12/18 after the service department looked at my car ��� they informed me that the left rear boot shaft had been damaged and recommended immediate repair. They stated it would be dangerous to even drive it off the dealership lot. I have a regular mechanic (excellent reputation) who I have been going to for the last 30 years and decided to get his opinion first. Also I was able to get the opinion of friend that same day who works on his own cars ��� one of which is a Toyota. Both of these individuals said that the damage to the boot was not in need of immediate repair but did need repair eventually. More importantly, both of these individuals stated that it was very odd (rare) for that rear boot to be damaged in that manner. When I asked my mechanic what could have led to the damage, he indicated it looked like it had been torched. Is it coincidental that the Rear Lower Suspension Arm is near that boot and that the boot could have been accidentally torched? This would explain the need for an immediate repair such that the damage could be fixed and at the customers expense of $646.70 and not fixed by Toyota when the damage could have been caused by them!. Of course once I drove it off the lot, the area around the boot got dirty and then it would be impossible to state when the damage was done. The displeasure with my service does not end there. Other service recommendations made by New Country dealership on 9/12/18 included Cabin Air Filter to be replaced and the Trans Fluid needs to be flushed. Both of these services had been done by my regular mechanic on my previous visit to them. The friend that works on his cars had a similar experience with New Country dealership where they stated his Toyota needed certain repairs and he had just preformed the work. Also, my appointment was for 7:00 AM - I dropped that car off at 6:30 AM that day. The car supposedly was never initially looked at until 9:30. When I asked about this - they just said they had a lot of cars that day. Their reply did not make sense or there is very poor scheduling. The icing on the cake so to speak was that I wrote the manager at New Country about my experience and never received a reply.

    Not very good. After cleaning was done, the interior still had dirt in door bins, seats were not cleaned, wheels were not thoroughly cleaned. When I ask for the deficiencies, the owner made excuses. Cannot recommend.

    The rear window regulators were replaced; tire pressure sensors and tire valve stems were replaced; also changed the oil and transmission fluid. The car needed some routine maintenance and is now running extremely well. Finding a place that will work on Saabs is difficult. As a former mechanic at New Salem Saab in Schenectady, Greg knows Saabs inside and out. I probably paid more than I wanted to pay, but the work needed to be done. I have no complaints at all. I will definitely go back.

    Marc and John and very good with customer service. They are always willing to help.
    Check engine light came on so I called Marc's VS, as they had done work before on my car. They said bring it in right away and did a diagnostic. Called me and let me know what was the problem with the exhaust flex being rusted and what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. When they fixed the first one, they realized there were two (one on each side) so they let me know I had to get the other one done also. They also noted that the car would run more quietly once those items were fixed.
    Marc said they usually need 24 hour notice to schedule me in so just to let them know what I was ready and what I wanted to get done on the car. Marc also gave me a ride to work and picked me up. He was prompt and courteous.
    Marc's is reasonable and they are experts in what they do. They know cars and they fix it at a reasonable price.

    Mavis Discount Tire - Latham
    I took my tire to this tire center for a repair.  I was told by a different tire center the tire had multiple punctures and could not be repaired.  That tire center attempted to have me purchase a new set of tires for my vehicle.  Having only 30,000 miles on these tires, I did not want to purchase new tires.  Also, I believed they were lying to me so I would spend $500+ in their business.
    The technician at Mavis filled the tire with air and examined it.  He then called his Supervisor over and had him examine the tire.  They then motioned me over and asked why there was a chalk circle on the side of the tire.  I told them that was what I wanted to know, as well.  The Supervisor said he did not know why there was a circle in that spot; the sidewall did not have any issues.  He then said they could fix the puncture and that it would be ready shortly.
    What a relief to find someone honest in the automotive industry.  I will take all my tire business to them in the future.

    In a previous visit, when I had the oil and filter changed, I was notified that the breaks were getting worn out. So I asked them to fix them in the next visit, but I wish I had been advised of a more affordable options.
    I have always had good experiences with the service here though, they are professionals and reliable.

    I requested to have the air filter and the belts replaced, and I left the car at the shop to have the work done.
    Later they called me and suggested to have the right lower ball joint replaced, so I trusted them that it was a necessary thing to do and had it done. Everything seems to be working fine. The charge was reasonable. Their location is very convenient to me.

    I arrived there early in the morning, so didn't have to wait long. They performed the service quick and efficiently. They advised that the air filter and the v-belts had to be replaced soon. I even got a free car wash.

    Mark called about 10:30 that morning and explained he found the front sway bar links needed replacement. Gave him the OK to replace them. They called again at 3 and let us know the car was ready.
    We've been driving it around and the noise has disappeared.
    We've been taking our cars to Shep's Garage since he opened and have always had excellent results, completed in a timely manner and reasonable prices, unlike the dealerships.
