    Mac Tile Inc.
Very bad at returning calls or showing up. Never even got a proposal. Extremely unreliable. I have no opinion of his actual work because I never saw it. Even after telling him that he took so long and I hired another he wanted to come for a proposal and didn't show up.

    D&L Hardwood Flooring
Secured appointment with D&L based on angies list special.  What I thought would be the provider showing ending up being two gentlemen with poor english, which led to poor communication.  I don't think I've quite seen floors sanded and refinished like this ever.  They did 176 sq ft. of my son's brazillian cherry hardwood floors.  I was told it would have to be stained in the red family because the wood was "red".  They sealed off the room with plastic so I couldn't view exactly what they were doing.  By the time I knew it, they were done without a so much as "is this ok? Or "are you happy with the floor?   Prior,  I had pointed out some areas that were darkly discolored before staining, and asked them if they could resand that to remove it, and they did that, so I assumed it was taken care of.  My faux pas, never assume anything.  What they should have asked was if I wanted a darker stain or replacement of pieces of that wood.  But I guess you can't expect that level of service from an angies list discounted coupon!  They also left old stain along the seams, which makes it look more like some new age laminate.   These very dark lines along the end seams which look horrible.   I'm very disappointed, and can't believe nothing was ever communicated that there were any issues.  I couldn't really see the floor in full view till it dried, and since they left when it was wet, they were long gone with the check.  I asked them about the dry time between coats of poly (15 min?!) and was told that it dries very quickly.  I didn't just fall off the turnip truck.  I do know the min. required drying time between coats.  I also asked what sheen of poly they were using, and was told semi-gloss.  Which is exactly what I wanted, but not what I got.  A trip to a local paint store, and a can of semi poly, and a couple coats later....it was even more obvious they did not use semi-gloss.  I wish I could upload a pic of what the floor looked like, but unfortunately that's not possible.  All I have to say is shame on contractors who think they can do low quality work.  Now we've got a house to sell with a pretty shoddy refinishing job.  I don't know where all these positive reviews came from....maybe they are high end houses where more is expected?  Or maybe they got the actual contractor, and not some employees for hire with absolutely no experience or communication skills.

    Quality Painting by James
In 2008 I hired  James and his crew to remodel my mothers
house for re-sale as the executer for the estate, after my mom died, I needed to
hire someone I could trust because I did not live their, nor could not always be
around when the job was being done. I gave the keys to James and he did the job
with courtesy and respect, he was always on time, did what was needed to be done
and was neat and clean. The house needed a staircase to be installed at the
entrance of the house leading to the downstairs to bring the house to code. It
was done so well that it looked original.  He also  installed a picket fence to
code on a outside ramp. He did some exterior work on the house, then spackled
and painted the outside then he did the same to the inside. My mothers secondd
deck needed work which he repaired and also brought the deck to
    code.

In 2010 we hired Quality Painting by James for y own house, to
create an a bedroom downstairs in my basement, he spackled and painted the walls
I wanted it to look good absolutely but I wanted a large walk in closet with
extra closet space  to be installed in the bedroom. James noticed problems in
the walls of the basement showing the upstairs bathroom was in jeopardy of
collapsing  It was a well done job by James and his crew, they a pleasure to
    have around. .

Creative Design Ceramic Tile & Bath

We began our process to remodel this bathroom and our Master Bath several months ago by soliciting contractors from Angies list.  We received several proposals and were surprise how hard it was to find a contractor that could do the whole job and that seemed reliable.    Carmine, the owner, spent a significant amount of time with us talking about the different products to use, what he recommends, and doesn't recommend, other work he had done, and even sent us some great photos of his recent work.  All  of this was even before he even stepped foot in our house, so we had a very comfortable feeling that he really knew the products we wanted and that he could perform the job.  One of our biggest concerns was that a contractor would schedule the job, and keep to that schedule until completion.  I have to say that beside doing great all around bathroom remodels(our bathroom turned out fantastic)  He is a man of his word if nothing else.  He shows up on time every single day, no excuses. He tells you directly how it is, and what it will cost and how long it will take him and his crew.  Everyday He, Carmine JR and John showed up on time and ready to go.  They worked very hard,  clean,  and were always very respectful to my wife and daughter, and even the dog.  Sometimes these intangible things are just as important as good carpentry skills.  We did run into several unforeseen issues, like uneven and un-plum walls.  Carmine was able to plum and level the walls with considerable effort.  This was an unforeseen extra and if you want tile done right you do need level(flat) and plum walls so really no complaints here at all, Another issue was a tub arriving that I disliked(which we switched that day for a Jacuzzi tub.  Carmine was able to provide a licensed electrician to run power for the tub that very next day w/o delaying the job.)  We were able to switch out the tub and get it installed as per the manufactures specs.  Great job again here.

It is also noteworthy to add that Carmine did spend significant amounts of time with us asking about tile placement and layout, grout colors and types, and he is very knowledgeable about  what to do and what not to do.  We are extremely happy with the way the tile came out.

Additionally, They finished on time, and did every singe thing they promised and even more.  They paid attention to every detail in the smallest way and it really shows.

We have them booked in June to do out master bathroom and we look forward to welcoming them back to our house again.

    Grand Improvements & Construction
Gary, owner, was very pleasant right from the start. He gave us an estimate which was competitive and probably a little under than most contractors. He explained what he could do with our one and only bathroom giving us suggestions that saved us money and how to use the space more efficiently. He gave us a written quote and everything he told us he would do was done with professionalism. We only have one bathroom so every day when he was done with work he put back the toilet so we could at least have that.
I would hire him again without giving it a second thought. The bathroom looks amazing!
