    Bill answered my initial call personally. (Miracles do happen). He responded to my home to assess the situation the following day. My old hot water heater was breaking down and producing rusty water. He educated me about the various hot water heaters that were on the market and he recommending he thought would be the best one for me. It took several days to order the heater and when it came in he responded in no time at all to install. Bill and a helper worked without stop for about 5 hours to install in a hot and humid basement. He also replaced five valves that were extremely corroded. My basement was left immaculate.. The heater, a Turbomax, looks and works great. I was so happy with Bill's service that I referred him to my son who needed some advice on some plumbing issues he was having and he responded immediately. I've had pretty good luck with Angie's List in the past but this was my best experience by far. I also have to add that Bill is a real gentleman who really knows his work and takes pride in it. I will definitely recommend and use again. Thanks again Bill

    went well we also needed to replace the expansion tank existing one had been put wrong. Anthony explained to us what had to be done and began to drain and take old tank apart while awaiting guy with the new tank. A neat job done, its in our pantry room. The service is nice too ,I had called cause of course water had been turned off so when we flushed toilet it made a rumble noise, yikes! I did n/a price cause I have no idea about this stuff. Lots of parts and torch work done can't believe how neat.

    Overall, everything went great. A little gaffe at first though. They did not previously come to inspect the site in advance of the installation date, so when they arrived, the heater they brought was too larger for the space. They ordered a new one and came back to install within a few days. The installation itself was very smooth and the men were very courteous.

    This review is for the Homeserve heating repair service on Long Island, NY.  I had a no heat emergency when we awoke on Monday AM and called Homeserve.  They gave me a window of noon to 4PM and arrived in that period as promised.  The tech was a very knowledgeable young man who spotted the issue immediately-a valve had leaked onto the "brain" controlling the entire heating system destroying it- no heat or hot water.  I have a 4 zone system, meaning 4 separate zones and circulators requiring a control center with 4 separate relays.  He did not have the part on his truck, but did install one that he did have as a temporary fix so we would have some heat.  He got the 2 main zones working so we were not freezing.  He went above and beyond as far as I am concerned, installing something he knew would later be removed and replaced. He called in the repair order while he was here and told me the part was in stock and that I would be receiving a call tomorrow AM to set up the repair.  Well, at 6:30 AM (a little early, perhaps, but I was very happy) Homeserve called and set up the appointment.  At 10:00 AM Homeserve delivered the part and later that day the tech arrived and installed the new part. He thoroughly tested all the zones and made sure they were working properly. The entire experience was very professional with knowledgeable techs who arrived on time and performed very well.  There was no charge, since I have a yearly contract with them.
    As far as Homeserve Long Island is concerned they get an A+ from me.

    The project went very well. David is very responsive, patient, accommodating and took the time to answer every single question and address every concern along the way. He was always available and we never had a and quot;typicaland quot; contractor experience. They provided references, detailed estimates, and made design revisions at the outset and midway as needed without any complaint. This is really important considering the scope and cost of the project and the fact that the technology, despite having been around, is somewhat new in its mainstream acceptance. With respect to the cost, the amount noted here doesn't include our tax credits so the net cost will be less for us. YSG coordinated all work from A-Z including removing the old boiler and oil tank, drilling, duct work and geothermal installation and startup.
    Our installation was part of renovations on a new home for us (built in the 1950's) that included working with about 5 other contractors (times four or more when you include the estimates that we didn't go with) on newly installed bathroom/kitchen/floors/windows/doors/walls/electrical/plumbing/appliances/etc. Just about everything was upgraded or improved and You Save Green was one of the best and most professional experiences.
    A few things to note is that YSG does work with subcontractors for at least the electrical, plumbing, drilling, and duct work/unit installation. They did the energy audit, system design and they managed the project, and they also hooked up the unit and did the start up. Alan, who did the ductwork, was very accommodating in the ductwork design and onsite modifications and we're very happy he was able to work with our floor plan to minimize (eliminate) any impact of the install whereas the house previously didn't have AC ducts. All other geothermal proposals basically had one way of installing the ducts which included the main supply duct running along the center line of the house in the basement (the house is a cape). YSG gave us 3 or 4 design alternatives with zero impact on basement headroom. The drillers also worked with us to minimize the impact of the loop field placement.
    The ONLY negatives I would note are that a few times people showed up to do work with very little notice or earlier than expected and the oil tank removal subcontractor didn't appear to be experienced in oil tank removal. They didn't cut the tank into small enough pieces that they could manage and wound up scratching the basement door frame, chipping a stone front step, taking about 6 hours longer than even they estimated, and one guy hurt his back taking a too large piece of tank out. They visibly struggled. They also dispersed sooty/oily residue in the basement. The mess might have been unavoidable (I think proper floor protection and planning/experience would have gone a long way) but either way, David got a team in to clean it up right away and is covering the step repair. I conveyed this feedback to David and he seemed to appreciate the feedback and will hopefully will make necessary changes. Importantly, the oil tank and boiler removal people appeared to be a salvage/scrap type company and they did no other work in the house.
    Overall I got 4 or 5 estimates for the geothermal installation and while YSG was the least expensive, they also seemed among the most knowledgeable and capable. I have already recommended them to the contractor that did our bathroom for his own house (at his request after seeing the duct work and zoning), two family members, and I would recommend them to others.
    YSG installed a Climate Master Trilogy so the heat, AC, and hot water systems are all 100% geothermal. For any doubters, the hot water is hot (the 50 gallon water tank is currently set at 125 degrees), the AC is cool (its been set at between 70 and 74 depending on time of day and whether or not we are home), the humidity control works great (~50% throughout the house), and we haven't had an opportunity to use the heat yet. This is not a dual water tank system with a tandem geothermal preheat and traditional gas or elec water heater. Though the system does include a backup heating element in the storage tank, it can be disabled through the thermostat and we have had it off since it was installed. An auxiliary heater wasn't needed or installed.

    Gary has been doing work for me for years. Overall, I like his work and his prices seem fair, but honestly, I don't use anyone else so I can't compare him to others. The only thing that frustrates me about Gary (and I've spoken to him about this with little result) is that he's difficult to reach. In most instances, you leave a voicemail message and he returns your call that evening. If you miss his call, the cycle starts all over and he calls you back the next evening. There's been  improvement lately, with his wife sometimes answering the phone, then calling Gary to let him know you need to speak with him. Overall though, it can be frustrating trying to reach him or make an appointment. He needs to get better at this.

    After experiencing problems with my heater I called Universe. The were here right after I called. Although they had to come three times each person was thorough and knowledgeable. The people in the office were terrific. I had to install a new gas heater and hot water heater. They were great.

    I very much like the way that they take care of the burner and the hot water heater. I have found their service to be very good. They have always been responsive when I have needed to call them to come out. I have always been satisfied. When I have called in with a complaint they have responded very quickly. I plan to stick with them, even through the prices of fuel oil changing. I do not have a fee with my contract as long as I purchase my oil through them. The only thing that I do not like about the service is having to pay the price for the fuel oil.

    Both the sub-contractor who did the removal and Universe themselves were very punctual and professional. Sub-contractor arrived first at 8:30 and completed the removal in 60-90 minutes. Great care was taken to minimize the mess including removal of all debris and laying down of drop cloths where ever they worked or walked. Universe showed up around 9:30, walked me through what they were going to do and started to work right away also making sure they were as clean and neat as possible. Job was completed by 5pm and the only issues were the lack of parts (including the new boiler which was delivered late) and one thermostat that the tech could not get working. Another tech showed up the next night and fixed the thermostat issue but uncovered another issue that another tech had to fix a few days later. But the installation looks very nice and professional and overall everyone did a great job. My only major issues were the smell of oil that lingered though-out the house all day and dirtiness that was left when everything was complete. Even though they try to create a little of a mess as possible, the entire project is just messy and we ended up having to clean our carpets afterward after seeing my kids feet turn black from just walking around. But I don't think there is really anyway around that.
