  • He's great. He's a very good surgeon. He's very skilled but he's also very kind. He spends enormous amount of time talking to you and that's what I really love about him. He's very good about getting appointments. He has a very nice office help. He's in a new building and he has 2 partners. He's not as punctual as you would like but he's always worth waiting for. The staff is very friendly.

  • I have used them for 30 years. It is a large practice of wide variety of ophthalmologists. I think there are 8 doctors there. They are excellent and they are highly rated. They are one of the premier ophthalmologist practices in central New York. They are efficient and there is almost no wait to get in and when you are there if you have an appointment they get you in right on time, they have a vertically integrated eye care practice so if you need surgery or just eye checkups or contact lenses they can give you total care.

  • My daughter had an appointment and all went well. The only thing I wished they had told us prior was that it would be a 2.5 hour appointment. Went back for her glasses and fitting and we were very pleased.

  • The medical examination of my eyes was very thorough as it has been in the past.
Unfortunately, Dr. Tucker no longer examines your eyes for purposes of determining whether you need eye glasses or a change in your eye glass prescription which disappointed both me and my wife who had our eye exams on the same day and together. We both knew we needed stronger prescriptions but had to schedule eye examines elsewhere in order to get new prescriptions. If we knew this beforehand, we would not have gone to him. He and his staff should make it clear upfront that he only does a medical exam.
Additionally, Dr. Tucker articulated his disdain for President Obama and his policies and Obama Care which surprised us and seemed highly unprofessional.

  • My daughter and I went for an exam and prescription for new glasses. . My daughter had a few headaches a few weeks earlier, but we discovered they were from too much computer time. I had recently been seen by an Opthamologist and found that I had the beginnings of a cataract. Neither of us had any ongoing problems at the time of our exams. However, just mentioning headaches opened the door for them to submit the charges as medical, which allowed a much higher contracted billing amount then if it had be submitted to my vision plan. Same thing with me with the cataract. When we checked in, the office staff asked to see, not only our vision ins., but our medical insurance. I asked why they needed that, and they told me it was "just in case" they found something medical. So, with that said, I clearly told the optometrist that "anything medical" would be looked at by my opthamologist - who I had an appointment with in 2 months. I just needed a new pair of glasses now because I was traveling and would be doing a lot of driving. Well, even though the tests done were exactly the tests we both underwent at previous eye exams, and were covered under our vision insurance (the same vision plan we still have), this office charged my medical insurance to the tune of $525.00 for me and $535.00 for my daughter. This was in addition to what I paid for out of pocket and what my vision plan paid for lenses and frames. Total cost for my exam was approximately $850.00 (not including those upgrades not covered by my vision plan). The cost of my daughter's exam was approximately $1,100.00 (including a 6 month supply of contact lenses) What maddens me is that I clearly informed the optometrist that I didn't want her to do "medical tests". That would be taken care of by my opthamologist. If she couldn't do that, or if she would not be submitting the charges to my vision plan, she should have told me. After I was made aware of these charges - when we picked up my glasses, not when we originally checked out, I was horrified. I can't help but believe they were looking for an excuse to change the charges from vision to medical, upping their payment - especially in my daughter's case. When I complained, the optometrist (don't remember his name) simply couldn't seem to understand why I was so upset. He reasoned that my daughter would probably see a doctor by the end of the year (I guess for something) and I would have to pay that deductible anyway. SAY WHAT! JUST WHAT TYPE OF REASONING IS THAT? The optometrist we saw for the exams - Dr. Konick - was very nice, but clearly we were not communicating. The office staff didn't listen to me either. When I paid for my daughter's contact lenses, they were going to order a year's supply. I told them no - thinking I would first check to see if I could purchase them for less elsewhere - and then ordered and paid for a six-month supply. Today, I received a bill in the mail for $248.00 for contact lenses. I called the office questioning the charge, reminding them I had paid for them in full. Well, even though I told them to order just a six-month supply, they went ahead and ordered a year's worth anyway. Now my daughter has to ship the extra to me - from college - and I have to return them for a credit. If you decide to give this office a try, be aware of the charges beforehand. Don't give them your medical insurance information and question everything. I will not be going back. I can't afford them and, I believe, their actions were deceptive.
