    Classic Construction Group
We hired Classic Construction to gut renovate our 4 bedroom house. Work included replacing all windows and doors, replacing the roof and gutters, new boiler, new air conditioner, new siding, refinishing the basement, redoing baths, upgrades to plumbing, electrical and HVAC, carpentry along with a redesign of the kitchen area and redesign of the master suite with an addition of a walk in closet, a new master bathroom and a laundry room. A complex project which took 6 months to complete. German and his crew did a fantastic job executing the architects plans, they were professional, highly skilled, thorough, clean and respectful. Whenever we asked for changes or modifications they addressed them in a professional manner. They did outstanding carpentry work building cubbies in the foyer, storage shelfs as well as all wood work throughout the house. Some of the subs were a little slow in their parts (especially electrical and plumbing) as they were working on multiple projects in parallel but overall did a good job and addressed our requests. In addition German is highly responsive and easy to communicate with, whether its during work hours, nights, or weekends he was always available to address any questions or concerns we had promptly and patiently - this was very important for us especially since it was our first ever renovation project and we were pretty clueless. German was a true partner throughout this project and deeply cared for making sure that we were happy with the way the house was coming along. Overall, German & crew turned our house from an old and tired 70s house to a bright, modern and welcoming one and for a fair price (we had 3 more bids to choose from). We are very pleased with the outcome of the project and i would highly recommend Classic Construction to anyone.

    Jobs for a Handyman llc
I was shocked with the poor level of professionalism with this company. Elvis, (the owner of the company) was not clear about the timing or price for parts before the work was done. I hired him for some odds and ends around the house, and he showed up with 4 people, (including himself), the first day, (without telling me he was coming with more people), and they were mostly sitting around and chatting, or he was on the phone. One of the jobs I hired him for was to repair our storm door. He repaired it half-way, and said he needed another part. When I told him after getting the receipt, that I was not pleased with him having to come back, and the price of the parts, (because he didn't explain anything to me about it), he told me he would come back to finish the job, and then refunded me, (without me asking). I thought that was in good faith, because I was upset. I was upstairs with one of my children, and he ended up removing all of the parts he had put in, and left without saying anything. I came down to find my door more damaged by the removal. Also, it was very nasty and sneaky to do so, when he had emailed and texted me that he was coming to finish the repair, and needed my approval. I would definitely not recommend them as a service. He is overpriced, not clear on pricing, (or work he is doing), and was late 2 out of the 3 times he came; not to mention the vindictive behavior in how he left my door.

    New York Carpentry
The contractor was very responsive & provided an estimate quickly. The price was fair & we decided to proceed with the work. The contractor was always on time & even finished the job earlier than expected. The quality of work was superb! We will definitely hire NY Carpentry again.

    Handyman Connection - Westchester County
A year and a half ago we hired Handyman Connection to replace the wood on a rotten deck. When the worker was finished he tried to leave without allowing me to check the work. I insisted on looking it over and found that the bottom steps were dangerously small. I almost fell down the stairs carrying our baby. He hadn't measured properly and didn't have room for regulation sized steps. The owner of Handyman Connection came out and they figured out how to fix the stairs (they didn't charge us extra for the steps because the worker admitted he'd overcharged us for materials already). Then, in the past month, we've noticed that the deck is sagging considerably. It is raised 10-12 feet off the ground and the platform part has dropped about an inch. This is really dangerous. We called Handyman Connection and they eventually sent someone out. He didn't seem to know much about the company, but he was horrified by the lack of support built into the deck. He didn't want the job, I guess, so they sent someone else out. He was nice and also agreed that the deck was really poorly built, but he said that the workers are all just independent contractors who are loosely associated with Handyman Connection. He didn't do the original work, so he would need to be fully paid for any repair work. This made sense, but Handyman Connection also seemed to have washed their hands of the original worker who built the deck. They offered to just knock 25% off the labor cost of finishing the original job properly. We were stunned. You may be lucky enough to get someone good through them, but it's a gamble.

    New York Carpentry
I originally hired New York Carpentry to install a Dutch Door for the back entrance of my house and the quality of their work far surpassed my expectations, so I also had them perform all the work for my kitchen remodel project. They installed the wood flooring and crafted custom cabinets to to fit some awkward, previously unusable spaces in the kitchen. The carpentry work that Flavio and Anthony did was absolutely beautiful, with incredible attention to detail, and they are meticulous. Flavio and Anthony are a pleasure to work with. They were always willing and available to answer all my questions or provide guidance on materials, etc throughout the project. I have already asked them to install the tile back splash for the kitchen and if I have any additional projects in the future they will be the 1st people I call. I highly recommend them!

    Handyman Connection - Westchester County
Everything went well, I have now used Handyman Connection three times.  They are really just an aggregator contractors.  Even though both the contractor and Handyman have to make a profit the prices are good and the quality of three different contractors has been fine.

    WFC Construction Management Inc
If you can call a renovation pleasant, this one was. WFC Construction Management INC. is professional does quality work has personable and friendly staff who are easy to have around and walks you through every step of the project. From the time the project began we had incredible piece of mind leaving for work everyday knowing we hired the right firm. We knew we wouldn't come home to a mess or poor craftsmanship or work that wasn't progressing. The job was finished on time and on budget minus a few adjustments we chose to make along the way. The recommended allowances included in the contract were realistic and allowed us to get exactly what we wanted. The WFC team was professional enjoyable to have around and skilled carpenters who gave great care and attention to every detail and we're picky. They treated our home and us with respect. Whatever roadblocks the project presented surprise pipe in the wall or vents that needed to be rerouted were communicated to us with reasonable additional costs and we were given the opportunity to determine how we wanted to proceed. We love our WFC Addition and highly recommend if you're thinking of doing a home improvement project you give the guy from WFC Construction a call.

    WFC Construction Management Inc
I contacted WFC at the beginning of Dec. not ideal as due to the upcoming holidays it is busy for everyone. An estimate was provided in a timely fashion, and I provided a down payment of 50%.  They needed to order the door which was not a standard size. Weeks went by with the deposit check uncashed and no communication from WFC. I followed up and found out that there were delays in acquiring the custom door from the vendor. I had to follow up repeatedly to get updates.

Once the door came in they immediately installed it and did a neat and thorough job.

I was totally satisfied with the actual work, but they do need to get better at client communication. It was frustrating having to constantly reach out to them for updates.

    Merritt Renovations
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I received what I thought was a really good price from Brian Merritt and hired him. Merritt and his crew arrived on the day agreed upon. He provided a contract. Unfortunately, he ignored it. The crew made a mess of my home, improperly covering up the floors and ruining my front staircase. Merritt demanded cash -- usually every day, often calling me at 6:30 am. The contract stipulated he would pay for all materials (at one point he said of the crown molding, There's no way I'm paying for that, even though the contract said all materials were included) and be responsible for debris removal -- a month after the job I found bags and bags of debris hidden in a back cellar!! A few weeks after the job ended, one of the workers showed up at my house, saying he hadn't been paid -- that Merritt said my "checks" hadn't cleared. I paid CASH. The sheetrocking work was mediocre. I had to hire another company to clean up after Merritt and repair what they could. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I hope this report will protect others from what I went through.
