Like some other reviewers, I ran up against their policy of requiring all home owners to be present.  I don't think it's a sexism thing, though, because I'm a man and experienced the issue as well.  i do disagree with the policy wholeheartedly, though.  Maybe I could see it at the point of signing some large contract, but for an initial meeting?  Come on, don't waste my time.  I've never had a contractor do that before (require both people, not waste my time, that's happened plenty!).
If you want to run your business that way, that's fine, but it's not for me.  But at a minimum you should be up front about the policy.  In my case, I didn't find this policy out until after I had completed the walk-through with the technician.  After we finished going over everything, the technician said I know exactly what the problem is and how we can fix it.  We went to sit down to discuss the work to be done when the guy asked if my wife was going to be around.  When I said no, he said he could go no further and left.
So, I'm left with no scope of work, no rough price.  Certainly not going to schedule a second appt just so the guy can give me this info, it was hard enough getting home early once.
I really don't appreciate wasting my time by not telling me the policy in advance.
Truth be told, if that was the plan all along I might not have bothered to schedule these guys at all.  My family does not operate that way.  We both work and base our work schedules around juggling the kids, and once we are all home we have plenty to deal with without getting together for an hour to walk through a preliminary inspection with a potential contractor.  We delegate in my house, then we discuss among ourselves what choices to make.

After the work was done, they came back and did another energy audit and inspected the work that was done. There was a small area that needed to be sealed up, so someone came the next day to take care of it. My house is a lot more efficient now. I am a single woman and it is hard to find companies that do good work for a reasonable price. I will have them back again if I need any plumbing or heating work done. If you are interested in a family run company, these guys are a great choice. It's nice to be able to "keep it local".

We were not at home during the removal and replacement.
When we returned home and inspected the job, other than the siding looking newer, we could not tell that any work had been done.
They did a very clean complete job.

Overall, he is great! Could not have asked for a better guy. He was on time, honest, prepared, and did a wonderful job doing the wiring. He gave us a total of what it might cost at max. and they didn't go over it. There was two people working for two days. They first do all the wiring and then they come back later when we put the drywall up so they could put the lights up for us. I would say he went out of his way for us to make sure it was how we wanted it to be. And he fit us in, in his VERY busy work week. So not to hold up our DIY basement makeover. So I do not hold against him that it may take a few days to get back or he didn't pop right over. It is just him. He did the job much faster then any other place was willing to try to do.

When I called, the owner answered the phone. We scheduled a date for him to look at my attic and provide an estimate the following week. Peter Collisson, the owner, arrived on time. He and his assitant were very professional, yet friendly. After looking at my attic (there are conditions that make insulating difficult), Peter offered two solutions. We agreed that 8 inches of sprayed foam insulation would work best in my situation, but it is more expensive than fiberglass. When I explained why I could not afford it, Peter asked if I had contacted NYSERDA and he explained how they could help. Peter also gave me the name and number of an individual who works for an energy auditing contractor who could help me with applying to NYSERDA. I did not know that NYSERDA would get involved. If Peter had not explained what NYSERDA does, I would not have known about any discounts or assistance programs. I'm so grateful to Peter Collisson. The work has not been done yet because I'm waiting for the results from NYSERDA. Peter gave me the impression that he and his employees will do the work properly (not cut corners or be sloppy). I plan to hire Affordable Energy to do the work once my application is approved.

Was told by an incompetent salesman that I would save approximately $800 a year. When work was done, the report I received said I would save aprrox. $300-$350 a year. Salesman denied telling me that I would save $800. I should have known better since the salesman also told me that heat does not rise. Also, the doors that were weatherstripped had more gaps/leaks than they previously did. I have not noticed any saving in my energy bills. My bills are basically the same as friends with similar home that did not use Zerodraft. Workers took almost a 2 hour lunch break one day and showed up almost 3 hours late one day.
