Decks reviews in Malba

Excellent Exterior and Deck Company, Inc.
It is my pleasure to recommend the Excellent Exterior and Deck Company (EEDC). The owner, Joseph Vitale, and his team - Zach, Brian, and Marty are craftsmen who strive to make the homeowners vision a reality. In this review I will focus on four main subcategories; cleanliness, craftsmanship, project completion, and value. With respect to cleanliness, EEDC arrived with an organized plan to complete the project. And during the project I knew my property was being treated as if it was theirs. For example, whenever machinery was required, his team would place large composite mats down to protect the lawn from the wheels and treads. This attention-to-detail paid off, as my lawn quickly recovered, which was not my experience in past projects where contractors didnt make that effort. On the subject or craftsmanship, EEDC is capable of very nice work. Zach leads the charge on the craftsmanship front. If not formally, he is the de facto leader when Joe is not on site. I credit him with my outstanding deck step and vinyl siding integration. Another notable on the subject of craftsmanship are the GoliathTech Helical Screw piles used as the deck frame foundation. Joe is a certified GoliathTech installer and this system is the best Ive seen to date. With respect to considering the project complete, Joe worked every issue until I was satisfied, as it should be. His ability to allow me to openly communicate my concerns and address them stands out as the single most important trait I look for in anyone that works for me. Finally, on cost, can you have a deck built less expensively? Probably. But I believe that the entire process needs to be factored in. EEDC uses top shelf materials, employs craftsman, completes the project quickly, and follows up to ensure youre a satisfied homeowner. Thanks to Joe, Zach, Brian, and Marty, for building a deck that I will enjoy for years to come! Respectfully, Dean J.

Not well. We contacted Matt in April as of August all we had to show for it were holes. We finally had to tell him we were no longer interested. Would never recommend him. We question where his positive reviews are coming from. We are very easy going but was pushed to our limits with his excuses and promises.

Bill was very responsive and professional. We met twice to plan together our new deck and padio with fire pit. We were able to make changes during the project. The men who work for him are experienced , hard working and performed an amazing finished project. The project took about two weeks. Our property was left clean and during and after the job. We are very happy with our new outdoor space, and would recommend Bill and his men.

********* HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Jesse. ************* You will not regret it. This guy is a star. Jesse Cook does outstanding work and we would highly recommend him for your design and remodeling services. He will work closely with you on your plans and provide you with a clear estimate for the job. We recently had Jesse construct a deck for our above ground pool. The quality of work and materials he uses are top notch. We are extremely pleased with the final product. We had previously contracted with Jesse for customized stairs on the deck attached to our home. We were so happy with his work that there was no question that we would hire him for our next project. Jesse is as trustworthy and polite at they come. There are no surprises. We find his prices very reasonable and with the quality of the work, he is more than worth your investment.

    Cimino's Home Enhancements
I had been quoted as much as 14000 for this job, which I knew was way over because I knew the cost of the materials that would be needed. Mr. Cimino's estimate came in the most reasonable, he did the work himself and with care, and we're very happy with the deck.

    Knockout Masonry Corp
The work was completed in less time than we expected.  Considering the nature of the work it was not as disruptive as we expected.  The work was done well and with care.  I found the workmen to be responsive to my inquiries and concerns. Finally, I have found you never have to ask Jimmy twice.  His follow up is great as is his attention to details.

Capital District Contractors & Decks Inc
The work that was supposed to take 4-6 weeks for the sunroom and 5-7 business days for the kitchen took 4 months all together.
Workers showed up unexpectedly and irregularly.  They worked one day and then took 4 days off.  No one told me when I needed to purchase items, or I was told to get something and the directions were totally wrong.  I had to go to Home Depot 3 times to get countertops and had to settle for stock items rather than getting the countertop I wanted.
Now I have two cabinet drawers in the kitchen that are crooked and a door that doesn't open properly.  The back door to the sunroom already sticks.  There is a spot in the floor tile in front of the sink that is irregular and does not cover completely.  They say the quality of the work will convince you to love it in the end, but the quality is not there in my project.
Everything was done haphazardly.  They painted the walls of the half bath AFTER they had put in all the fixtures.  Nobody told the painter he had to paint the ceiling until I did.  The only reason everything was finished was because after 3.5 months I wrote a scathing letter to the BBB.
These people are not professional.  The owner is a great salesman, but if you don't stay on top of things, they let you drift.  My definition of a professional is someone who does his job without me looking over his shoulder and telling him what, when, and how to do something.
Don't go with this company!  Unless you're prepared for the delays or going to press them constantly to get things done and to do it right, you will be mistreated, and then they will blame you for the delays and lack of quality.

    Cousins Construction
Their communication wasnt very good on when they would start the job and the office staff and owners didnt seem to be in sync. the day they started got off to a rocky start because they went to a wrong address across town. The quality of the work however was good, Unfortunately I didn't know they were done and that they left. They didn't pick up the check and they left a valuable ladder at my house. I heard from owners a week later and they picked up the ladder and check. Bottom line, while their workers need more supervision, their price was fair, the owners present well, and the work was good.

    A Better Construction LLC
Tom and his crew removed our old shingles, inspected all decking and were prepared to replace any if rotted. They also replaced new tin chimney roof flashing on two chimneys, and all metal drip rails. Tom kept us informed of all ongoing work with photographs of each step of the roof replacement. They showed up on time, worked all day; coming back the next day. They were professional, knowledgeable, polite and neat. The quote he provided us with was competitive to other quotes that we had received. The quoted cost was exactly what we were charged, with no hidden costs.

    A. Champagne Builders

Response to my calls was prompt. Pete Champagne's estimate was less then several others I had received. He was willing to do a number of small jobs. Everyone was pleasant, professional and neat, I would highly recommend them.
